No money has been spent today.

Yesterday we went out to our favourite town, we parked in the village next door and walked on the canal path into town with the dog, it was 2.5 miles round trip so not a long walk. Bought some lunch whilst out and some dry goods from the zero waste shop.

Watched part of '100 Best Walks' on tv this morning and have recorded the rest, DH & I were amazed and rather proud of just how many we have done, it helps that so many were in the north. We also made a mental note of many more we would like to do, I blooming love getting out in the countryside and doing 10-15 miles and need to do it more.

Have walked the dog for a couple of hours in the woods near home this morning, we had plenty of company, so many people out in the sunshine. Very lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Pegged the washing out but it didn't do much so it had to be finished off in the drier.

Submitted meter readings today and plotted and planned with DH, we are so lucky to be on the same page with how we want to go forward.

DH is happy that Sky are showing the Leeds Utd game for free today so he is watching that with his first cup of tea with soya milk - his face said it all -, he is doing veganuary, he didn't enjoy black tea. He is having vegan tuna mayo sandwiches for lunch tomorrow, it will be a big help that I've been vegan for nearly 2 years and I do all the cooking too but it does take some settling into I think.

Need to clean the kitchen up, then it's pj's and a glass of red.

  • I got 27 and that’s one of my favourite numbers!
So I’m grateful for that, my sofa and blankets and my full cupboards.
Appear to have “the lurgy” so done very little today, but didn’t spend anything. Done a bit of budgeting and planning, but taking it slow.

  • I have been out today and spent money. But it was all planned ages in advance - every year on New Years Day I have lunch with one of my best friends and her kids. It used to be at her house but since she has been ill we just meet up in the pub. I did have a voucher for BOGOF though, and did not other spending. It's the first time I've been out for a couple of days though so it was nice to be out and about, getting a bit of fresh air and exercise.
I have made my plans for the year - they involve getting my finances and body in order. So far so good but it is only the first of January. I don't smoke and barely drink but I do need to sort my weight and diet out. No plans for vegetarian/vegan or anything - just cutting back and making better choices. As for the finances - court next week so we'll see what happens there - but I will make a start once the bills are all done tomorrow.

    Evening all :)
Not been anywhere or spent anything today, so am claiming NSD 1 / 16 :)
Been quite lazy in fact, though I did give the bathroom a good clean, finished pruning the climbing rose in the garden, put the Christmas decorations back in the loft and a did bit more tidying up. All food was from home, still using up leftovers. Looking forward to something fresh and un-Christmassy tomorrow though, maybe fish with ratatouille (got both in the freezer) :)
Decided to do dry January to help kick start weight loss / becoming healthier. I don't actually drink much though, so not sure how much it will help :rotfl:

    Happy New Year all!
I had a great evening last night. My bestie came round and we did a jigsaw together while listening to old music and chatting. It was so nice and chilled. We've decided it will be our new NYE tradition.

    Question everything:
Your habits :- Sax Practice. Picked up the sax & practiced a warm-up routine & a few scales. Just 15 mins today, but just trying to get back into the habit of picking it up daily.
Routines:- Exercise - Went for a nice walk this morning with bf and the pup.
Plans :- Savings - Counted out my piggybank, just £4 & schrapnel. I usually like to empty it and pay it all into the bank at the beginning of the year. But there isn't enough to warrent a trip into town, so I shall leave it there for next years totals.

Ugly, unloved or unused - Minimalist Challenge. Day 1 - Very short charging cable. We have loads with the same connector end, so this is useless.

Exercise your mind and body. Went for a nice walk around the local National Trust park. I was tempted to stay in bed, it's my first day off since Xmas day. But once I was out I enjoyed it and was pleased I went (got my step goal too).

Savings. I want an Emergency Fund of £5000. I'm 1/5 of the way there. Aiming for 50% by the end of the year.

Thankfulness. 1) Thankful I forced myself out of bed for a walk. 2) Thankful for awesome friends and family. 3) Thankful for home made Bacon Mac n cheese. Proper comfort food.

    The non-negotiables:
    [/SIZE]
    • [STRIKE]16 NSDS minimum.[/STRIKE] 1/31 NSD. Only things bought today was butter & milk for the bf. I don't count groceries as long as its not treats.
    • Budget. Budget done. Bf paid me his half of the bills, so money jiggled around.
    • Give. Money, time, food. There are others out there who need you! And look after yourself too.

Try hemp milk. I prefer the taste of milk substitutes as milk makes me feel bloaty (plus it has the added bonus that noone in work will steal it). My bf hates soya and almond milk, but accidentally made his tea with my hemp milk and admitted he doesn't mind it.

I could do with an invisibility cloak to hide my Christmas pudding shaped midriff this month. It will take some power to get me off the ground! :rotfl:

Quest. My quest in 2020 is to pay £10k off our debt and never use the cc again.

Ugly, unloved or unused will look to sell a couple of items in Jan and we have a lot of cardboard and other bits to remove from the garage

Exercise your mind and body. I start a new contract at work tomorrow so my mind will be getting a lot of exercise. Aiming to complete most of couch to 5k this month and swim once a week while I am away with work

Savings I am looking to make massive savings this month by spending almost nothing. I also need to revisit our utilities.

16 NSDS minimum. Aiming for at least 20 1/20

Budget. YNAB updated but challenging myself to spend as little as possible this month after bills, debt repayments, holiday instalments and minimal living expenses

Post at least three gratitudes daily please. Today I am grateful for:

    1) the effects of been glutened last night wearing off
    2) fun with friends
    3) mum and friend helping us out with childcare this month
    4) starting a new job tomorrow when I could have been facing the first day of unemployment

Give. Money, time, food. There are others out there who need you! planning library and charity shop donations this month

And look after yourself too. starting couch to 5k again, improving my diet and taking a little time for me
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • Count me in please. :)

    Question everything.
    Habits:
    - Online browsing on my favourite sites: Must limit mindless to 1 hour per day.
    Routines:
    - Must routinely prep lunch in advance and reduce supermarket visits for essential visits only.
    - Aim to apply for three jobs each working day in January.
    Plans:
Must decide financial strategy for this quarter during first two weeks in Jan.

    Unloved or unused:
    - Did some decluttering and charity donations during holidays.

    Exercise your mind and body.
    - Am booked to do an endurance event on 19th Jan, so must exercise at least three times per week (now that the holiday season has ended!). This will inadvertently be good for my mind. :)
    - Aim to complete an online certificate by end of Jan to prep for career progression.

    Savings:
Money: Will target 20 NSDs for Jan - so far so good!
Time: will apply and adhere to time management skills at work to help with ambitious January exercise, job hunting and work goals.
Stress: Must not be pulled into mind games at work which have been stressful and distracting.

    Thankfulness.
    Grateful for:
    - Headspace over holidays, which enabled me to be get organised for the New Year.
    - A spring-like day!
    - New year celebrations with good company.

XSpender - hope tomorrow goes well. And that you recover fully from being glutenised. It takes me several days to feel better.
