NST January 2020: A Turtle Quest

I shall laugh a lot. have adventures and take care of and keep in contact with my family and friends. I shall strive to eat healthily, walk a lot and finally loose that weight. I shall help and support others and accept help myself when I need it. I shall enjoy myself - sod the housework I'll read a book if I feel like it. I shall smile and say "Hello" to strangers. I will not waste a single thing (that one might be a little difficult). I will live within my means and be aware that there are so, so many people in a much worse situation than I and I will help them where I can.
Well, I did have lots of adventures (mainly, thanks to French demonstrations) and walked lots (thanks to the Paris transport strikes). Met lots of new people, laughed a lot, ate new food and, believe it or not, have lost weight (transport strikes again I think).
Kept in touch with friends and family. Sister in law is now in a hospice. Desperately sad but better for her needs.
Over the last few years we have had some marvellous holidays. Expensive (but we did have the money saved and it was always our intention when we retired to travel in Europe) and I don't regret spending one single penny. However, the focus now is to build up the savings again whilst still getting out and about.
Haven't been able to donate to food bank because we've been away but I have a plan for February.
So a frugal February here I come.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
I can claim my NSD 17 for yesterday. So I only spent on 14 days in January. I have missed my charity shop perusing, but I have used up a few things in the house, or made them into something else - made a candle out of other candle bits, and dyed a duvet cover. Neither were on the list of things to do in January, but were both on a vague, misty, things I will do in the future, type list. Cost £0.
Thanks for my caped adventures in January apple. Loved it, and I actually managed to save a decent amount. My bank balance thanks you.
