NSD 16 today. Still have DS2 home from school, but he is much better than he was, if I patch him up for another 24 hours he can probably cope with Thurs and Fri at school, then more patching up at the weekend and he should be ok by Monday.
Dyed a duvet cover and pillowcases yesterday with stuff I already had in, and it looks FABULOUS! so just saved myself £15, and I think I got it from a jumble sale for 50p, and the dye was YS too at some point long, long ago. Utterly painless.
DH was out last night with work, and is out tonight as well. So an early, easy supper for us, 2 kids will be in the bath, only one after school club, no spends.
The sky is blue, the birds are singing, it's flippin' freezing but it is nearly payday.

And the internet router died. So now I will have to wait and see if that was the problem not the age of the laptop. It was very quiet yesterday - with no internet access, they both mostly slept.

Icc86 - that must be hard to deal with. Hugs on their way.:grouphug:
Yesterday I lost a NSD or did I? it was yellow stickered bag of spinach for 50p Will count it as a nsd anyway. Made a staggering amount of butternut squash and spinach lasagne. Bottom Freezer tray full of portions of it. NSD 14/16
Today I booked my train tickets to Scotland so a spendy day but something to look forward to in April. Woo Hoo.
So glad recruits have joined my 50 metres to couch group. Perhaps for Feb we could not get in PJ's before 7pm? Difficult task no pressure. Any other workouts we should be doing?:D
I need milk today, as milk in fridge is out of date sometimes it lasts longer but not taking the chance of sour milk for brekkie.
Grateful for
Hood on coat, kept my ears toasty at lunchtime.

Think I am on 14 NSDs. Spendy day today as I needed to go and buy a new phone - think I lost mine in the taxi in the 'mercy dash' to mum's Saturday before last. I was set to go out for one (looked at CEX yesterday but they're all posh ones, cheapest were nearly £100) but DS3 said I needed to sign for the router as I am the account holder, so took my coat off again and put some soup in the microwave.
Man came (I thought it would just be posted out) and after a few minutes agreed that the router was dead (DS3 and Beloved had tried using a different socket and a cable from an old PS2). He set it up in a few minutes but was interested in DS3's games so DS3 set one up and showed him a character he had designed and all the bits of code to make it mve in various ways.
I had run out of money so the £1 coin jar and the £2 toucan have been emptied out. I put £100 back in each (safety net/ mini emergency fund - for things that don't fall in the normal budget - I will need to replace the cooker, have the kitchen ceiling fixed etc at some point) and eneded up with about £145 including the coins in my purse.
Counted how many times I have contributed to the penny jar and it was 32 so January was covered. From the money I had I put in to cover 27/29 payments for February. DS3 asked to borrow £20 last night (cash) but has repaid me today (bank). I have paid 2 x £2 bus fares to get to today's appointment and it was £40 for my new Doro with £10 credit on the phone (this gets tripled to £30).
Whilst I was already at Tessimo I went round to get things I need (Feb budget) rather than coming home and ordering a delivery. Mostly fresh stuff (inc some ys). I put 4 packs of biscuits in the food bank box and bought 2 books from their charity pile. I also bought 5 x 20p books in the library sale yesterday.
I seem to have about £75 left and hope to make it through as much of February as possible on that (already spent about £30 frozen food and £30 fresh today - have the exact figures jotted down somewhere). To be honest I shuffled so many coins from one jar to another I lost track somewhere along the way (but I have £100 in £1 , a £100 in £2 coins and nearly all the penny payments for January and February in the penny tin including some of the higher amounts ie reverse penny challenge).
So Positives
I have lost weight. A whole kg. Was so worried because, although I was fairly disciplined over Christmas and whilst on holiday, healthy eating went out the window when my physical and mental health took a dip so it's very good news that things are still moving in the right direction. Set some new activity targets.
New phone with £10 credit cost £40, half the price of the cheapest 2nd hand ones
Went roung the home section of the SM but did not buy anything (lots I liked)
Finally getting somewhere with my books. Was so weak yesterday I only went out to post a card for mum and get more books from the library. couple of easy to read ones (finished overnight and early morning) but was struggling to make a start with 3 of the others - one started the first few chapters with a different character with no idea who they were connected or even if they were in the same time frame. Now making progress with one and put the other two aside for later (too many common characters).
Today I am grateful for my spirits starting to rise again, for realising the pains in my arms were from cleaning the insides and outsides of the freezer and fridge drawers and shelves and for my new Doro (I could have had a red one but stuck with black). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Icc, so sorry to hear about your client
. Thankyou for what you do.
Calling, Miss Tara and Abundant - fellow couch potato here, though I did manage a decent walk today.
Did a supermarket shop today, so I think I am on 13 / 16 NSDs (managed one yesterday). Tomorrow will also be spendy as we are meeting up with DD1 to buy her lunch, as it is her birthday

Today I am grateful for healing up well, for dd being chosen to play in a footie match after school, for getting some lingering admin done, for a lovely hot bath, for a great book, for hot food, for doing plenty of walking.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Well have said goodbye to January budget so am also thinking about moving over to the Feb thread. Had a pretty much rubbish and useless day. Mainly on the couch, as soon as I'm not needed I just collapse and revert to inactivity. Not proud. Had a lot to do today but again did not even touch the top of the pile.
Except got my ankle xrayed so thats one thing down. Saw my running group when I gave ds a lift to his dads to drop of some stuff, and got quite upset.
Anyways grateful for nhs, a 'summer of rockets' on bbc and veggie burgers.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Evening
First of all - belated hugs Icc and sorry I never mentioned that in my last post. Thinking of you and sending love to everyone affected by their loss.
Enjoyed a day off with family, and still managed to come away with a NSD again. I'm almost pushing 20, so thinking I might challenge myself to the hardcore 20 NSD challenge next month!!!
Today I am grateful for:
1) My kind and loving family
2) Friendly faces
3) An unexpected free evening
Will be a SD tomorrow as need a haircut (budgeted for - does that count as a spend?). Family visiting so may need to get some nice nibbles in too.
Have a lovely evening x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Now, now, abundant - just cos it's in the budget doesn't mean you can claim an nsd, m'dear! Sorry but tomorrow will not be an nsd for you!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
