Happy New Year to all.
Today I will not spend. I am feeling pretty loved up. No real reason for it. Just because it is Wednesday. Or because I took the tree down and pulled a string of HP potion bottle lights off a shelf and bopped myself on the head (Harry Potter, rather than HP sauce - I am not that odd)
Today will be NSD 1, I am de-Christmassing and looking forwards, and deciding to keep the fairy lights out as they make me happy. I will sauce my manky old fruitbowl apples and have them for pud.
New paper diary started, new calendar on the wall, new pot of jam opened ( on a crumpet - yum)
Feeling good.
Abundant - if your superhero is a girl, you go for it. Fantasy on the inside, Reality on the outside... or was it 'these are small .... those are far away', in my best Father Ted voice.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Happy New Year to you all...2020 is going to be a good year...I can feel it in me bones....
I'm concentrating on finishing all the decorating and snagging issues on our ground floor this year. I've got most of the items needed to achieve this, so I'm hoping additional spending will be minimal. I've started in the dining room - sorted out, cleaned and minimised the contents of the dresser and the boiler cupboard under the stairs. I now have about eleventy-hundred gin bottles to recycle  In my defence, I've been saving the pretty ones for a project planned later this year, but maybe my hoarding got a little out of control...
I am thankful for dry weather today, the funny pup who is staying with us for a few more days and for a Wetroom to wash him in after he rolled in fox poo

Only cheer leading this month but can I post my goals for this year anyway?
I shall laugh a lot. have adventures and take care of and keep in contact with my family and friends. I shall strive to eat healthily, walk a lot and finally loose that weight. I shall help and support others and accept help myself when I need it. I shall enjoy myself - sod the housework I'll read a book if I feel like it. I shall smile and say "Hello" to strangers. I will not waste a single thing (that one might be a little difficult). I will live within my means and be aware that there are so, so many people in a much worse situation than I and I will help them where I can.
Wishing you everything you wish yourself.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Afternoon turtles, planned spends today so no NSD. I have bought some gym leggings - they were on sale, I needed some and I had pre-planned to get some in January because of the sales. I made a list in December of things I will need (and a few wants) every month so I can better plan my spends and not be caught out. I also bought an eyebrow pencil as mine is about to run out. It was also on sale so saved money there too. Back to work tomorrow so that'll help keep my spending down as I'm always too busy to spend!0

Afternoon all, hope everyone is feeling fit, well and raring to go!
Had a lovely day so far, up early and did all my ironing, and put a wash on. I pegged it out as it was bright and sunny this morning, but it didn’t really dry. Then I did a workout, a bit of yoga and a top up shop, so not a no spend day. Off to do my voluntary work tonight for a few hours.
Today I’m grateful for the following:
For being fit and able and able to exercise
For a warm bed and a roof over my head
For this thread, helping me to focus my mind.0 -
I fancy a rather wonderful purple cloak for January
- also in the style of the Scottish Widows lady - perfect for colder days!
My 2020 quest (in no particular order) is to pay min £6k from mortgage, pay for Florida holiday with no borrowing, lose 1 stone, get fitter, have more family fun. To achieve all of these I need consistency - some progress being made each month
Ugly, unloved or unused = it goes out of your house to be beautiful, loved and used elsewhere. - am looking to achieve 2020 things out in 2020(5.5 items/ day)
Exercise your mind and body. We don’t have to do it; we get to do it. - want to do 310000 steps in Jan as a start - easing in as have a lingering chest infection which cold weather is really not helping (I find it helps to be able to breathe when exercising!)
Savings (not sales, as I presume you have side-stepped around them unless you had planned and budgeted for something). Where can you save? Money. Time. Stress and anxiety. Waste. Plastic. - sales purchases after Xmas have been Xmas cards for next year and a much-needed pair of boots (reduced twice in price) for work - need to be flat, comfortable - and quiet for walking around the exam rooms! Last pair of shoes I bought squeak on the main exam room floor, although are beautifully quiet on most surfaces- 16 NSDS minimum. 1
- Budget. Everything. Food. Travel. Socialising. Hobbies. Bills. Savings. School/work stuff. Birthdays. IN ADVANCE. - DOne
- Post at least three gratitudes daily please. We like to hear what you are thankful for. A fun night with friends and family last night, DS1 being super helpful today, wheatbags
- Give. Money, time, food. There are others out there who need you! And look after yourself too. - will do

We have de-Christmassed today too, I feel sad another one has passed and I will miss my tree, I do have some very pretty fairy lights on my mantlepiece which I will be turning on tonight.Turtle no: 18 reporting for duty

Fox poo is extra special for rolling in according to my dog. My word there is no other smell like it, many a time our dog has been removed quickly from the house and hosed down outside amid much drama from DH with the kids laughing hysterically at the window.Toni'sfriend wrote: »Only cheer leading this month but can I post my goals for this year anyway?

Lovely post.
Abundant - you sound so positive. We all have so much to be thankful for I'm sure but it's so easy to lose sight of all that at times.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

My quest has begun. In lycra . A tough old bodyrock workout to start the year, then up to the playground with dd for her to try out some parkour-ish moves whilst I skipped. I came away with a big bruise on my leg from the one and only move I tried :rotfl:.
We've watched the croods, wsm (of course), a star wars film, the restorers. A bit of an overdose, really...
Today I am grateful for being able to exercise, for time with dd, for being entertained by the gogglebox, for getting some sch prep done, for getting plenty of veggies down my neck- 9 in total.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
