    Misstara - how's your tooth?

Much better thanks apple :D. I asked for liquid antibiotics this time as I had an infection in the same tooth at the end of November and got normal antibiotics, although the pain went away the tooth never felt completely right. This time, it seemed to have sorted it out properly although it makes me feel like a big kid taking liquid antibiotics :rotfl: Need to make an appointment to get the tooth pulled out though as I've had recurring problems in it since I had root canal a few years ago.

NSD on Friday taking me to 11/16. Did a food shop yesterday, hopefully today will be another NSD. I'm grateful for feeling better, my gran being back at home, a lovely windy day yesterday so I could get my washing dried outside, pizza for tea last night, skyping my mum and coffee.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.8.25 - £106,362.86
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.98
  • Gosh I've been busy and stressed out this week. I may be getting too old now to juggle this full time teaching, parenting and examiner life - but I do like doing it all. :rotfl: Spent most of last week at work grumpy and hormonal and trying to fit two weeks of work into one so that I can get away and do the exam stuff without fretting about work and mock exams etc.
Spent much of yesterday finishing up all neglected things about the house and spending time with the kids (as much as they ever want to these days), plus a cuppa and a catch up with bestie so I felt pretty good. Relaxing this morning before heading to my mam's this afternoon then London later - kids are being looked after between my mam and sister and at a mixture of houses, which they're quite excited about.
Chalking the nsd's up because I'm skint and it's still a fortnight until payday. All is well, although busy.

Ok a quick back to the beginning and then on to the main topics for the day:
Question everything. Yep, every single thing. Your habits, routines, reactions, plans... But not so much that your head explodes…
Habits coffee every morning, wine on a friday night, screen scrolling.
New habits - ditch coffee in the morning, walk dog longer before and after work.
I have been better at cleaning kitchen every night, and it is so much nicer.

Ugly, unloved or unused = it goes out of your house to be beautiful, loved and used elsewhere.
Exercise your mind and body. We don’t have to do it; we get to do it.

Am medium on exercise, didn't run yesterday but went for walk w ds so got 12000steps in. Did a 5.8 M run in an hour, so am fairly happy - so have done 3 x 60 min exercise this past week. So Ideally 4 hours but 3 will do.
Am trying to read for 10-20 min every day. Back to grade 1!

Savings (not sales, as I presume you have side-stepped around them unless you had planned and budgeted for something). Where can you save? Money. Time. Stress and anxiety. Waste. Plastic.
We try to save on everything - have lowered thermostat .5 degree and am not even noticing the difference.

Thankfulness. Let's look at what we have and be grateful for it.

I am grateful for being daft enough to just do it all over agin every day, for my old friends and for an invite to a b'day party I didn't expect.
NSD expected, but have lost count.

And now to the jobs of the day:
Apply for settled status. DONE didn't take long - but emotionally - so much rage!
Paperwork for ds first uk passport. (Must write ex-mother-in-law to get dates of grandparents births etc, not my choice activity) Got the photos, will get signed tonight and then get everything sent off on Tuesday.
Prep for rest of term - work
one job application - DONE sent CV for some extra hours at old job.
Clear out a room for new floor this week ( this will be a puzzle)
Run - will do this while ds cooks dinner! Done
Tidy and get ready for the next week. Done
Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
    Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%

Went for a lovely long walk up to Top Withens on Haworth Moor yesterday. DH slipped and fell in the mud in front of a group of people, DS and I chuckled then a bit further on the dog slipped in the mud and slid downhill on his chest, DH stood on the same spot laughing and suddenly both his feet shot out from underhim and he sort of flew up in the air then fell down the hill, it was hilarious, he was covered in thick mud. I had to scrub his clothes in the sink then wash them, luckily all of it has come out, thank heavens for technical fabrics.

Spent £2 on chips and £1.10 on herbal tablets in the village but that was the total spends for the day.

    Good Morning Turtles!
I am in a very good mood this morning as I am planning on hoovering the kids bedroom floors in about 20 minutes whether they are up, down, or lying sideways. I am sooo Evil!!

Had an overnight residential sprung on me by DS1 which needs a heat gun and small hinges (of course! what else would you need for 48 hours in Coventry), luckily we (I) have the heat gun, and possibly even the hinges - trip to spidey shed was on the list for today anyway, otherwise my NSD is going to be ruined for a 49p pack of 25 hinges. If I find a £1 in a coat pocket, can I offset my payment? Cos really I knew (subconsciously) I would be ambushed by a physicist needing limited rotation devices. Referee's decision needed - please check VAR. I know I have a spare £1 cos it went in the trolley when I forgot my token thing last week. Poor love has also been told there is no vegan option where they are staying (obv potatoes have not made it to Coventry yet - newfangled foreign nonsense!) so will raid the pantry and send him with some - just add boiling water - food and snacks. Luckily I picked up ys 30p m0m0 posh porridge sachets on my weird naughty shopping trip on Thursday and n4kd bars. He will not starve. The things we do for Science.

Right, list made, feeling good (had horrid backache yesterday from all that stupid filing) and motivated. Laundry volcano erupted again, but has calmed now, and only one load left.

Beautifully sunny but viciously cold day in Le Shire.
Off to annoy some teenagers with a noisy hose. To be fair, I have warned them (on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Small pleasures!

DH took DS1, so another NSD for me!

  • NSD 8/16, half way there now!

I am grateful for the freezing, sunny weather; for all the volunteers being welcoming at ParkRun, for the beauty of a woods at sunrise, for the ability to cycle along, for the teeny tiny plants coming up after planting seeds.

  • Afternoon everyone
    Mid point update below:
My January quest is to spend as little as possible & reduce my debt - I am being careful with spending but I have bought a couple of new/new to me items of clothing/footwear as I want a refresh when I start my new job. I am much better at eating from stores, meal planning, batch cooking. I won't be able to send more than minimum payments to debt as I have a big bill to pay to HMRC
Question everything. Yep, every single thing. Am doing!
Ugly, unloved or unused = it goes out of your house to be beautiful, loved and used elsewhere. 2 bags delivered to CS. Another bag started with a couple of items added so far....
Exercise your mind and body. Going to 2/3 classes a week subject to work and mum's taxi commitments. Been going for a walk most days. Reading most days. Need to apply for an extension for my qualification
Savings (not sales, as I presume you have side-stepped around them unless you had planned and budgeted for something). Where can you save? Money. Time. Stress and anxiety. Waste. Plastic. Can't put any money to savings at the moment, have hardly any savings at the moment anyway. Am saving time by batch cooking and meal planning. Definitely feel more relaxed now I've left v stressful job. What my new job will be like remains to be seen. I am using up food already in stores and planning meals better to reduce waste. Have bought reusable bags for loose fruit and veg, not made it to greengrocers yet but aim to do this next weekend
Thankfulness I am posting 3 gratitudes most days.

Today I am trying to finish some of my self employment work. Then I can submit my invoice as takes a month to get paid - then can pay off a bit extra to debt...
Going to make veg hotpot and soup with extra portions for during the week.
It's very cold here but I will venture out for a bit of fresh air too.

    Love to all

    Afternoon :)

So yesterday was a nice day with the folks, and picked up a few bits. Today I spent too as founds some of my favourite coffee half price in Waitrose no less  so bought 3 tins!!! And topped up on my plant milks as were on offer too in good ol' Asda! So no more NSD's to bag as of yet.

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) Amazon Prime! It's like a magic genie making things appear. Actually needed a charger as lost mine... Ordered yesterday and arrived today! I got a free 1 week trial for 99p so not so bad.
    2) Free latte at Waitrose!
    3) The internet, and online banking!!!

I am going to have a look at my original aims for this month and review my progress...

Hugs Misstara re your tooth and glad you're on the mend. I was laughing at your mishaps too Dolly... priceless!!! That'll be one you get lots of laughs out of for months to come! :rotfl:
