Today I am grateful for seeing some snowdrops in flower, for time with dd, for yummy food, for seeing a very good nurse, for buses, for UHU glue.

Today I am grateful for another NSD which brings me up to 13 so far, for a really good weights session in the gym and for finishing work slightly earlier than expected.

Was awake for a few hours in the middle of the night so did mum's house insurance renewal and ordered a food delivery (mostly tins - the soupery is nearly empty) to be delivered tomorrow. It has been icy over the past few days and February often has a sting in the tail, so being prepared makes me feel better. Must remember to put a pair of gloves in my coat pocket as I've needed them a couple of times.

Having done the sore streaming eyes and nose, then the horrible hair and spots as the bugs worked their way out of my system I now have dry flaky skin and lips so spent some time moisturising thoroughly this morning - didn't help that my wellies and my working boots both have cuts in them and some of the sludge in the yard must had seeped in - dry toes had some crusty patches so worked cream into them.

Went to the library. Everything is due back Thursday but took all but one (currently more than half way through) back today to avoid last minute panic and brought a fresh batch home. Set a wash load of clothes off yesterday (that might have been in the middle of the night as well) but still waiting for DS3 to empty the dishwasher so that I can refill it. Ran out of time this morning.

At mum's I've spent some time chopping and cooking. Have now brought the remaining Christmas veg in from the shed. Mum wanted cauliflower cheese but only had cauli/broc/carrot mix so I sat watching the afternoon film whilst sorting two part bags into separate bowls. Mum had the cauli, I had broccoli and the carrots will go in tomorrow's stew.

Pulled a bag of stewing steak from the bottom drawer to defrost and will do a curry and a stew. Mum can't even remember when she bought it so it needed to come out of there. Chopped a pack of leeks from the shed, have peppers, a yellowing head of broccoli (that may come home with me to go in veg curry), slightly spotty cucmber to use up and the end of a head of celery to go in the stew. Taken a bag of parsnips out to defrost, roast and then add to the stew mix.

I took a week's supply of all my pills from the new batch and put them in the drawer at mum's. I need to look at toiletries as I finished off the last dribble of some ancient suncream and the final scrapings of a pot mum was going to throw on Sunday.

Since getting home I've been to get some cash for mum (she's working her way through the birthday card pile) and put my paper bin out for collection (not till Wednesday but it's one less thing for tth morning). Nearest cash machine was out of service. Crossed the road to the next but neither I nor the man waiting for me to finish could find a slot to put our cards in - I was waiting for the traffic lights to change to go further on and he asked me for help.

Was struggling as I crossed the car park to get to the first cash machine so by this time I was seriously out of breath and lots of bits were hurting so sat on the first bench and podered which way to go. H and S were further along in a straight line, L was nearer but down a side street which leads to the market and bus station but is less well lit and no benches unless you go as far as the bus station.

Was very relieved to get back home on completing what should have been a 5 - 10 minute task but took much longer. I am trying not to stress about things I can't do and concentrate on little jobs I can - it's all progress. Hoping the bug isn't going to return.

Today I am grateful for the primulas planted outside the library, the twinkly lights in the trees and an entertaining film. Mum did give me the taxi money for saturday night and yesterday afternoon so with today i am on NSD 13.

    Good Morning!

A quick early check-in for me as didn't post yesterday. Back to work, but as Mondays go - it went ok. I'm trying to reframe my mind to not 'dread' Mondays just because I am back at work. My Monday schedule is actually quite nice and I work with nice folk. I think it's just having to leave the warm safety of my flat haha. Anyhow, managed an NSD and planning on one today...

    Today = NSD :starmod: 14

The last few days I have been grateful for:

    1) Not having a phone. I had such a productive day!
    2) My cosy flat - this is my default when I am struggling with feeling positive which I am this morning for some reason!!! I am grateful for the warmth, and security, for having all my needs met - food, drink, water, shelter. I am very fortunate.
    3) Tough insights I am gaining about myself which will hopefully help me to grow and move towards happiness again.

I am having a blip in my mood, but that's ok. My emotions ebb and flow, and I know tomorrow - this afternoon, I could feel totally different...

Have a great day folks! x

Yesterday was a NSD taking me to 13/16. Today won't be as we need a couple of things from the supermarket and there's a few presents I need to buy. Grateful for becoming an auntie for the first time (my sister had her wee girl yesterday), leftovers for tea and supportive colleagues.

We have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor - both black and white, both here and abroad.

Afternoon fellow turtles! Apologies for my sporadic posting. The weekend was rather busy, with a trip out to a pub for lunch on Saturday and general small task completion over the two days. SWMBO is looking for batch cooking recipes that will suit both her and Little Turtle.

Saturday and Sunday were both spend days, with a NSD yesterday and, assuming no changes to plans, today too. Looking forward to a nice quiet night with some tea. Up to 12/16 for NSDs!

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)
