But apple there's sport on tv - indoor bowls international Scotland v England. You wouldn't believe the excitement - they march on to their own theme tune and have a little flare like a single firework (different colour for each contender). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0

Mothernerd - thank you for the SWMBO meaning! I have watched Rumpole, but obviously not carefully enough. I've not watched the bowls yet - maybe I should broaden my education...
Today I am grateful for having such a lovely dd, for easy travelling around, for dd being picked by her PE teacher as someone who impressed her today, for dh having extra work, for curry from a jar, for finding strawberry flavoured ibu for dd, for a good book to read, for a lovely relaxing bath.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
QUESTION: Not too bad on the whole, though it has been an expensive month. I am on NSD 10 / 16 now, but today was a spend day as I did the food / supermarket shopping.
UNLOVED/UNUSED: Two net curtains went to the CS today (I am not a fan, these came with some other bits I - or rather my business - bought to sell on). I have taken some large and good quality cake tins that I don't use out of the kitchen cupboard, and these will go to DD1 next week when I see her (not just dumping them on her, she is an avid baker and I did ask her)
EXERCISE: I have been spectacularly lazy over the last few daysI am blaming the weather and a slightly upset tum.
SAVINGS: Usual savings paid in at the beginning of the month. Used a £5 off a £25 spend voucher that came in the post in Lidls today when I did the shopping.
THANKFULNESS: Mainly grateful today that we no longer have freezing fog! And for nice food and a warm stove to sit beside.

Spent money today - not a lot but mum wanted a £5 note to put in a birthday card so spent money to get change. I have a duvet on my quilt - offered to empty the DW if DS3 would do the duvet for me. Think if I leave the DW for the next two days it will be mostly empty as they take things out to use.
Today I am grateful for good books, taking it easy and having a list (with starred priorities). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

I may disappear over the next few days. The laptop is dying on me. It just cut out last night and would not charge. Unplugged it and let it rest overnight and it's back up for now. It may be that another new battery will get it to work for a few months more.
However if it needs replacing I don't think I can justify spending that money atm. I need to save for work on the house which will need doing in the next few years. If it fails I will try to keep in touch using the library computers.
I am grateful for the primulas at the library - I loved the beds of yellow ones but the side beds have now bloomed and they are a riot of different colours. I am grateful for my health, things could be a lot worse and for hot comforting food.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
NSD on Wednesday, but Thursday and today were both spend days. Ordered a birthday present, SWMBO wanted date night yesterday instead of today and the baby monitor charging port broke (out of warranty). So bought battery charger and rechargable batteries today (£15 for charger plus 2x AA, 2x AAA and £7.50 for 4x AAA - bloody rip!). Hopefully it will save us money in the long run with Little Turtle's noisy toys, and charging batteries rather than buying a new monitor, but we'll see. SWMBO might decide we "need" a new one. Had a cider on Thursday so £1 in the pot.
I am grateful for wall stickers so I don't need to paint, good cider on doorstep and good friends.Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)0 -
Hi quick check in from me.
Not a lot to report. Had Hive fitted yesterday and I love it. Able to boost hot water and heating by just 30 minutes last night. Saves me running up and down stairs all night. Uusually time the heating but this is so easy on my phone, just going to put it on when its cold now.Hopefully save a penny ot two. Always forget about hot water on for hrs.
Think I will leave food shop in lidl until tomorrow morning(with £5 voucher), cleaned my cupboards and freezer out yesterday so I now know 1 have 12 tins of tuna and 6 cans of sweetcorn in there. Disorgansized me I dont even like tuna that much .
Happy as
