Breeze gone.

Well Breeze's systems are still working, but they have !!!!ed this up, I managed to get some meter readings into Breeze on the 3rd January and a statement was produced.
I have recently received one that has the meter readings backdated to the 22nd of December! :rotfl: and the account changed to say those meter readings were from the 22nd December not the 3rd January. It might just be a system error and a way of getting everyone level, but it should be £35 of credit not the £42 I now have.
Has anyone else had this?
YES !!!
I submitted meter reads to Breeze on the 31st of Dec, (end of month as I always do after receiving the usual reminder from them), and received an automated statement showing meter read dates, amount charged and amount of payments received for the period 1st December to 31st December reflecting the amount of the DD which was taken on the 23rd Dec.
Today I received an email from Breeze advising me of a new revised statement for the period 1st December to 22nd of December.
The problem now is the meter reads I submitted on the 31st Dec are now shown as having been submitted on the 22nd Dec. The amount of payments collected during the period is showing as zero as the DD was collected on the 23rd of December!
My online Breeze account now only shows information up to the 22nd of December!
Doubt its a system error but BG now say they only take over supply on the 16th of January.
So who is taking responsibility of the supply between the 23rd of December and 15th of January?
More importantly, I now need to find out where my DD payment has gone.0 -
As it was the Christmas period, I didn't find out that Breeze had collapsed until the 26th of December.
DD was taken day after Breeze ceased to trade.
Tried to claim the DD back under the Direct Debit Guarantee, bank says:
As this company has gone into administration, I need to inform you that the Direct Debit Indemnity process does not cover payments amounts owed by an insolvent company, instead any claim should be directed at the insolvency practitioner.
Nice one!
I hope now that the payment gets credited to the account and doesn't 'disappear'.
Direct debit guarantee is here.
It only really covers things like a DD being taken too early or for the wrong amount.
Your payment won't be lost.
If your Breeze account is in credit, that credit will either be added to your new BG account or refunded to you.
https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy/solr.html:What happens to the credit I had with my previous supplier?
Don't worry, domestic customer credit balances are protected by Ofgem regulations. So any valid credit balances will be honoured. We'll be in touch to tell you when the credit has been transferred to your new British Gas account.0 -
I only have 2 duplicate emails from bg telling me that breeze has gone, and a further one on new year's Eve titled "we're working on your switch". Nothing else, no customer number, etc.0

I submitted readings on 28 Dec, when requested by Breeze. I've just had a statement and like you, it uses my 28th readings but quotes them as for 22nd. My statement isn't quoted as being 'revised', just a statement. It quotes the Direct Debit amount correctly as zero, because I stopped it when Breeze closed down.
I think its more than a coincidence that I became a customer of BG on 22nd Dec (although my energy supply is going to start 16th Jan 2020).
Something weird going on here.0 -
Yes! Exactly the same for me. I've also just received an amended bill backdated to 22 Dec after receiving one on 28th based on readings taken 27th. I am now in credit by £44.
I too have an estimated start date of 16 Jan from BG & will be interested to see how they will work that one out as Breeze still used the readings from 27th although the bill is slightly less. In the meantime I'm collecting as much info. as I can on usage, dates, readings etc. to try to avoid an excessively large bill later. Pigs may have started flying by then!0 -
Right everyone I have a reply from Breeze (I presume the administrators) in regards to these bills, and as I potentially thought everyone will have the final meter reading pushed forward or back to the 22nd December.Good Morning
Thank you for your email.
As British Gas was appointed your new supplier by Ofgem on the 22/12/19 we have generated a bill to this date so the transfer to British Gas goes through more smoothly.
We are unable to bill you to a date past the 22/12.
Kind Regards
[name redacted]
Edit:
Spoke to BG in light of this email from Breeze, they were "surprised" to say the least and illustrates how little information has actually been provided to staff on the front line, they have confirmed that you will be billed at BG rates from the 23rd December, not the supply date mentioned in many emails.
In light of the agreement with the manager though, BG have already admitted the "mistake" and I will be charged at Breeze rates between the 23rd and 16th/17th Jan due to their error (either directly or via compensation).
You may wish to play "dumb" and query them over the supply date to benefit from such an agreement though.0 -

My Father phoned BG yesterday and he was told that the Breeze rates will be charged until the new accounts are fully open.
This is a right mess and no one seems to know exactly what is going on!0 -
Jesus christ. This is reaching something of a joke now.
Breeze have washed their hands of it all...Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately Breeze energy ceased trading on 22/12/2019 and from this date onward British Gas have taken over liability for your account.
Account finalisation will take place around 16/01/2019.
Note the word liability.0 -
You know what is more annoying!!
Ofgem stuck breeze with a £500,000 fine in October and guess where that money goes?(The treasury of course).
So they helped make them go bust then double shafted us with British Gas so guess what we are left with Ofgems Mess, and for us to pick up the bill one way or another.0 -

I note they say Account finalisation will take place around 16/01/2019.
Just had a chat with BG regarding the supply start date and was told:
BG agent: Breeze Energy customers will be transferred to a new contract with British Gas from Sunday 22 December 2019. British Gas will then contact all customers to explain what happens next.
me : You sent an email stating that my new supply start date is 16th January 2020, is that not correct?
BG agent: yes
BG agent: As per the email it is correct
me : that is why I am confused if the british gas start date is the 16th presumably breeze are still my supplier until the 16th?
BG agent: yes
BG agent: if we take over as on 16th then breeze will be your official supplier till 15th
me : ah right. so the new british gas tarrif only starts on the 16th when you take over the supply
BG agent: yes
BG agent: correct
So we are getting conflicting information. I guess time will tell.0
