I have been told the above previously as well, that they dont officially know yet and now that the BG rates were from the 23rd.
I suggest others begin covering themselves IMO with a similar agreement from BG prior to their supply dates.0 -
I've had an email this morning from British Gas.
No account number just an order number.
My 'estimated' start dates are 20th January for Gas, but 16th January for Electricity. (Why can't they be the same date!?)
They have put me on Cap Tracker Plus Sep 2021- the standing charge costs more than the unit price.0 -
Just got an email from Breeze requesting meter readings, so they can work out my final bill. I'm hopeful this means we will be charged at Breeze rates up until today.0

If it's anything like the rest of us have had, their system will use your readings and give you a bill as if the readings were taken on 22nd December - the day we became customers of BG.
Seems a bonkers way of doing it - a bit meaningless really.0 -

OR.....as has happened in my experience with other supplier failures , they will "back calculate" from your readings to get an estimate for the date that Breeze went to the wall and use the estimates to close your Breeze account and open the BG account …….HOWEVER, reading some of the earlier posters comments on conversations with BG Customer Services....anything is possible:rotfl:0 -
I’ve just spoken to bg and they said that my billing date for my new bg account will start from 17/1/20 so I’m assuming that I will be on breeze rates till then .. I’ve copied the chat in email and will throw this at them if the try and charge me bg rates from 22nd December0

I've received a request from Breeze for my final meter readings.
Good Afternoon,
As you may be aware, Breeze have ceased trading and your supply is being switched to British Gas.
To ensure a smooth transition and your final bill can be generated accurately, we require up to date meter readings to finalise your account.
Please log into your online account to submit up to date meter readings. Alternatively if you have an issue logging in to your online account please reply directly to this email, quoting your meter readings.
If you have submitted a reading in the last 2 weeks, please disregard this email.
Any further queries regarding your transition to British Gas, please visit our website (https://www.BreezeEnergy.co.uk)0 -
Not received any email asking for meter readings, but all previous correspondence from BG says they will take over from 16th January0

After the convo’s I’ve had with bg I’m going to pay them from the 17th jan as they said .. 0

I haven't had the email asking for readings but as the last ones I gave were on 21st December I decided to update them. They were accepted by the Breeze website this morning so assume those will be used as final ones and as the starting point for BG.0
