Chocmonster7, my situation is the same. Gave Breeze readings on 21st Dec and account was paid up to that date. I`ll do the same as no one has asked me for any up to date readings.

After getting the email asking for a final meter reading and submitting it I've received the email telling me my final statement is ready.

I now have just under £26 in credit after the final bill.

The message says in red that:

Debit balance must be paid to Breeze Energy, should your account be in credit, the balance will be transferred to British Gas.

And it gives the bank payment details- as I cancelled my direct debit after the December payment went out.

Although I didn't submit the final meter reading until a few days ago they are only showing that as having covered up to the 22nd December, so I'll be checking with British Gas when they're charging from.

    Same here
Supplied readings on 09/01/2020 as requested by email from breeze. Didn’t get usual “thank you” email so checked the site. Reading showed as entered at that date.
Current bill shows meter reading having been submitted 22/12/19.

    A bit doddgy?

Supposed it means that we will be paying BG very high standing charges from 22/12/19 but fuel used or 09/01/20?

I kept the emails and details of the readings submitted, plus copies of the downloaded statements, so will dispute any attempt by British Gas to charge anything a second time.

I had a statement come through after adding my latest reading to Breeze this morning. It was dated 22nd December and said I owed them £44. This is about right for my usage plus I didn't have a credit balance as I'd stopped my Direct Debit. However although it also included bank details I'm not rushing to pay until everything with BG is sorted incase they also try to charge me.

My Father phoned BG today and was told that he should be changed over by the 29th January and won't be charged the new rates until then.

All in all a crazy situation with BG and Breeze with the meter readings being backdated to the 22nd December.

Either way I have three days until I submit my meter readings to BG, and then put our application into Yorkshire Energy for a fixed deal until September 2021 (I know there is an exit fee, but it is only a few quid more than we were paying Breeze and about £40-50 cheaper than BG).

Edit: I also ensured BG noted that the readings Breeze had down as the 22nd are actually from the 3rd January.

Recieved this from Yorkshire energy after trying to switch:-

Thank you for choosing Yorkshire Energy as your preferred energy supplier.
Unfortunately, the transfer of your supply has been rejected and we are unable to resolve this ourselves.

So i spoke to someone on the BG webchat:-

British Gas : Hi. How can I help you today?
You : Hi i spoke to someone today using webchat about my switch from breeze energy and they told me my account had been set up with british gas.So i asked if i could now switch to another company and they told me yes.
You : But when my new company tried to initiate the switch today it has been rejected?
    Ankit : Hi Good Evening.
    Ankit : I'm Ankit.
Ankit : I’ll certainly help you with this request. While I do so, you can also refer to your online account for future references.
Ankit : Please help me with your full name along with your email address and complete supply address?
    You : Redacted
    Ankit : Thanks Mark
Ankit : Let me check the account now.
Ankit : Mark I can see as per industrial guidelines you cannot switch the supplier within 28 days of account setup.
Ankit : I can see the account is activated today.
Ankit : After 28 days you can change the supplier.
You : I did not request to be switched to british gas the breeze energy administrator did this and i have no contract with british gas.?

To which there has been no reply.

That's totally unacceptable. We've had no choice about who we've been handed to.

Surely that is breaking consumer protection laws?
