Quick question for Chocmonster7
Saw your message about breeze - I'm in the same position as you as apparently I owe them money. Not to happy about sending them a payment as I thought this would all be sorted with British Gas - have you done anything with this yet?0 -

No, I'm sitting tight and waiting to make sure that is the right amount I owe. Whilst I'm sure that Administrators would love us all to pay up quickly they can just wait and send me a proper final bill when all this mess is sorted out!0 -
I have just logged onto BG and submitted my readings - got this reply straight away:
Thank you for your opening meter readings
Gas
18715
Electricity
13585
You're now one step closer to your first accurate bill. Once your meter readings have been checked and agreed they'll be used to help make sure your first bill is only for the energy you use.
Have also saved the screen shots .. just in case of any problems. Now waiting to start the move to Avro as soon as possible0 -

Hmm i did this 2 days ago and got the same reply and still no readings showing on the account.
They have had them twice via website
once via text
once via phone
And still nothing showing on the account0 -
A BG tariff is coming out fairly close to the "best" deal available to me from a small firm. It claims to have free boiler insurance for a year as well.
Energy Plus Protection Feb 2021v3
From what I gather here, the Jan2021 version fo this is available to people already with BG.
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity/#sameprovider
The cheap energy club also knows that I am already with BG when recommending Feb2021v3. So, does anyone know for sure whether we are allowed to move on to this?
If we can move on, what is the best way of doing it? You can go via MSE for £25 cashback (even though it's the same provider) but I worry that it means an extra month paying higher rates versus me just calling up BG and asking to switch over?
Does anyone have any experience in this? It would be my prefrerred option as although there are slightly cheaper tariffs out there, an instant switch away from cap tracker rates and free boiler cover would cancel that out and make life simpler in the short term.0 -
the quicker we all get out the better!0

Smart meters are compulsory on that tariff.0

Has anybody else queried the personal projection costs for gas and electric (based on British Gas figures in their email to me of 5469kwh gas and quote £400 per year and 15227kwh for electric usage and again quoted £400 per year).
When entering the same figures on BG websit rim being quoted over £1800 for the year - had. Alive chat conversation and basically got told that i would need to speak to the sales team but the only work 8Am until 5pm????
They have lodged complInt based on the untrue actual projected costs based on their figures etc (I knew £800 was a ridiculous year estimated costs for the year) and have looked at alternative companies when Amy account is set up,0 -
Readings need to be checked first apparently I have been told they can see my electricity one from yesterday but nothing in the account just like some others have mentioned.
To my mind the account is pointless it just is simply not swift enough updating in real time.
I will call them tomorrow get my gas reading in and setup a DD I think.
Either way even if BG were the cheapest the handling of this just makes me to leave anyway. I dont care how polished a website is (like breeze it was not polished), but i expect it to function properly it seems BG's cannot even do that.0 -
Just submitted my electricity reading, so they've now got two- the last one I gave Breeze six days ago and gave BG this morning, and today's latest.
I was quoted £400 for each in the email I received a couple of weeks ago, but got the impression today they wouldn't have been able to provide a more accurate figure until they've got both lots of readings.0
