British Gas just never stop! Whilst I have received my credit balance refund, you would think that to be the end of the matter, but alas no, British Gas are now trying to bill me for energy usage that never happened. The mystery or phantom energy usage is based on meter readings taken as an estimate from an old Gas Meter that was removed last Nov19 (I was not even a BG customer then)? Even though I have explained this, British Gas just respond with a wall of silence. My current supplier Yorkshire Energy have raised a Gas-Dispute with BG but am told the process is likely to take 8 weeks to resolve.....you just couldn’t make this rubbish up? I have raised a formal complaint, two weeks ago, and am still waiting for any response!
This has been my first time having to deal with British Gas, but my first impression, having had them imposed on me for the last six months, has been that they're an absolute toilet of a company.

Do you work for them or something? I'm always suspicious when a relative newbie uses polite put-downs rather than outright despairing abuse about British Gas....
  • Cheque received today. There's no indication whether this had any influence on the situation, but 2 weeks ago British Gas told me to send an email to breezeenergy.restructuring@rsmuk.com, which I did but never received a reply. If anyone else is still waiting then it might be worth giving that a go.

    No cheque for me :-(
Not finding Omsbudman of help, so e-mailed BG CEO so now awaiting to see what that achieves.
  • Good luck! I sent a lengthy email to Ofgem last night, but just got a standard response telling me to get in touch with Citizens Advice. I was all ready to come on here for another rant when the cheque landed through the door.
