I too went from BG to Avro. BG sent me three confusing bills. The gas part is accurate but the electricity part is badly estimated. I spoke to Avro who said they need to get the electricity reading verified. Now I've received a warning letter from BG - 'pay up or we'll refer to debt collection'. Couldn't get hold of BG so I've sent them an explaining email.
Hopefully no energy company would think of referring people to debt collection agencies in the current crisis. Perhaps Government or Ofgem should have a word with them.0 -
I've now had a threatening email from BG for the Gas and logged in to my account to find an electric bill I hadn't been told about. No point in trying to phone and chat will only deal with emergencies which I can't really class this as. Can't find an email address to use so annoying. In my case the £28 charge they are wanting to add if it goes to Debit collectors is over half of the bill!

I paid my BG bill in full on the 19th which was the last possible day or so I thought, but the next day had the same threatening email from BG saying my electricity bill was outstanding, it seems both bills had different dates!! They are sending these emails out within a day or so of a late payment, have they got nothing else to do! Despite chats with them when they said I could deduct the Breeze credit from the outstanding amount I decided to pay up and am glad I dread to imagine what they would have sent out! such an awful company.
I also received my first bill from Avro and it was spot0 -

Thanks for that, also now had an email from BG telling us not to call unless it's an emergency but I bet they won't suspend any further action!

So while other insitutions are bending over backwards to help financially, BG are making up fictitious bills, withholding credit, and sending debt collectors in.
Seems quite newsworthy, if you ignore the bigger headlines at the moment.0 -
I’m self employed and because of Coronavirus my business is now closed I now really need back the £560 credit I had with Breeze. I find the recent ‘we’re too busy to talk to customers’ email from BG insulting. When every other business is trying to support people they seem to be turning their back on customers. I’ve written to their complaints department in Rotherham and really hope they won’t just ignore me. I think their arrogant behaviour does now need highlighting in the media especially because of the Covid-19 crisis when people are struggling to make ends meet.0

Yes in answer to @gwapenut I moved to Avro and have had no problems submitting readings unlike the BG site. The BG final gas reading was same as the first one I submitted to Avro so I'm sure BG have the electricity reading too. I'm okay with the actual gas bill readings and calculations so I'll pay up to avoid debt collection harassment even though my credit more than twice over covers the BG bill. I suspect we may never get back the credit from BG, bunch of sharks.

Firstly, we also switched away from BG to Avro last month.
I received a BG bill reminder this morning, April 1st, to view online.
Have any of you logged into your BG accounts???
I ask because the bill received today was for £153 but when I actually log into BG account to view it, the actual amount showing is '£81 in debit' and to 'please pay £81 now'.
BUT... there is another final bill showing over £200 pending… I have no idea where this amount is from as it is showing as 'not ready'. Chat is not available because the current covid outbreak … we're told to call in for emergencies only!
Is this an April Fools Joke?
When viewing the payment history I can see several reversals, one of which I assume could be the Breeze credit, but there are also other debits and identical reversal amounts which I assume are bill adjustments due to leaving them, plus the latest £200+ energy charges debit !!!!!!
If we have indeed received the Breeze credit, based on my leaving meter reads and final bill calculations, I actually owe £23 not the £81 showing as outstanding, and certainly NOT the £200+ that appears to be still pending.
Totally confusing and really glad we have left them.
