Now I have confirmation it is OK to do, I confirm I will pay £73.68 and you will get £50.44 which is my Breeze credit. Please could you confirm for meBG : Of course
BG : I'll also make a note on your account Me : That would be very kind thank you.BG : You're most welcome☺BG : If you receive any reminder, just ignore it
It doesn't matter how long it takes the apponted SoLR to then sort out the mess of the failed supplier and set up accounts for the 18000 customers who would have been off supply were it not for the contingency plans Ofgem have for such eventualities.0 -

Breeze had ceased to trade, and the regulator (after following their SoLR procedure and appointing BG) directed that BG should supply Breeze customers from Sunday 22 December 2019
Check the details on the Ofgem website for yourself if you like. Perhaps direct any further questions to Ofgem, if your supplier is unable to assist you.

JohnB47 said:I was with Breeze for only a short time. I cancelled my DD with them on the day they folded and have a small debit balance. I'd been waiting for the administrators to get in touch - the Breeze home page once said that this would happen. Now it's saying we should settle the accounts or either they or the debt collection agency will be in touch. Time for me to pay up - fair enough.
Anyway, what I've now realised is that the only way to see your actual account balance is to log-on and where your name is at the top right hand side, click on that and choose 'balance'. I had assumed that each of my statements brought forward the previous statement credit/debit balance, so you always knew the balance. Not so - each statement is a stand alone and just tells you the cost of what you've used in the last period and what payments you've made. Your overall account balance is not shown.

Just a thought, if our credits are still showing on our Breeze account, have the really been sent to BG?0

Credit Balance
Under OFGEM regulations, British Gas is now responsible for the credit balance due to domestic customers so your balance is safe.
Outstanding credit balance information has now been passed to British Gas. This information is being verified and processed by British Gas and the Administrators are assisting within any queries. British Gas are working hard to allocate these credits as quickly as possible but this may still take a number of weeks given the volume to process.
If you are a British Gas customer, British Gas will apply the credit directly to your account.
If you are not a British Gas customer, British Gas will issue a refund to you.
The Administrators are unable to make payment or assist you in obtaining repayment for credit balances from British Gas.

Appears many like myself are still awaiting debit balances from our old Breeze accounts to materialise in our B Gas accounts. I've now finally been switched to another supplier on much better terms, although even that was protracted. The big questions are, who's got the money owed and when will it be paid out. B Gas expect me to pay their bill within 2 weeks, nice for them.

Lots of people have sadly lost lots of money. Creditors will be lucky to get any refund at all, and if there is one, it will only be a tiny fraction of what is owed.
Fortunately, Ofgem have a safety net process to protect customers like you known as the Supplier of Last Resort. It looks like British Gas were appointed as as the SoLR to come to your rescue.
Depending on the terms agreed, either British Gas will pay any money you are owed by Breeze out of their own pocket, otherwise as is becoming more and more common in these situations, British Gas can call upon a 'slush fund' which will be created by Ofgem applying a levy on every other supplier.

So how did Ofgem choose British Gas?
Seems to have been a very bad choice.0 -

Hopefully the liquidators will create some money to refund creditors, but Britsih Gas won't get a penny unless they were a creditor of Breeze before they went bust. Creditors will be lucky to see even a tiny fraction of their money ever again.
Customers of Breeze who have a credit balance will be refunded by British Gas.
