I’m sorry we have no timescales at present as to when this will be completed, and you were misinformed when you queried this previously.

Well the Breeze website says the Administrators have.

    Credit Balance

Under OFGEM regulations, British Gas is now responsible for the credit balance due to domestic customers so your balance is safe.

Outstanding credit balance information has now been passed to British Gas. This information is being verified and processed by British Gas and the Administrators are assisting within any queries. British Gas are working hard to allocate these credits as quickly as possible but this may still take a number of weeks given the volume to process.

Well I have now had my final bill from the 16/17th Jan revised 3 times by BG with no credit from Breeze.
For now I have just paid it off, they meter readings that BG were using were initially estimated despite having the flipping readings (at least for electricity) which is beyond a joke.

There was a difference with the gas between my reading to YE on the 2nd, 7th being our opening day - BG blamed YE for not supplying them which I don't believe for a moment based on the above. But in between this they had decided to take my 2nd March readings base the bill on this and revised it twice, the second instance trying to remove the outstanding credit and blaming the electricity reading "changing", when in fact it did not. BG just started digging themselves a hole and eventually got a billing team member to resolve it all.

Net result was I was £25 owing to them, I just paid it off. The stories of BG chasing bills where nothing is owed I thought might be laughable, appears not as the billing by BG is haphazard at best, and downright lies at worst. I frankly blame the disjointed nature of BG's operations being mostly from India now.

If nothing else I am glad to see the back of them, in regards to my Breeze credit honestly I feel for everyone on here with large credit balances, but it is one reason I don't like them building up hugely.

That being said in certain utility areas the whole "concept" of direct debit seems to be lost and some what of a utopia and more of a racket that sees these companies eithher simply increasing your DD to cover outstanding balances and almost ensuring you are in perpetual debt to them or equally ensuring they have lots of your money as credit!

Having seen a colleagues Eon account the justification of increasing their DD by over £100 a month was nothing short of illogical and would have built up hundreds of pounds of credit, on the flipside on a more personal level a water company is currently still producing (IMO deliberately) confusing bills that are unclear (even the staff admitted this to me...!!!!!!) and well the direct debit per month was almost setup too low and left you in perpetual debt and a DD racking up to cover the outstanding amounts (I now simply have a DD on a 6 month basis all in one go to clear it, as the monthly system hugely underestimates our usage)

These energy companies are just corrupt, I've had this building up big credites on 3 of them now so I'm thinking they all are at it.

Many many years ago paying monthly was to help the customer with his household budgeting by having 12 EQUAL monthly payments and at the year then adjustment made for next 12 months EQUAL payments.

I would not trust any of them now, I note many ex Breeze going to AVRO well I left them 2 or 3 years ago for credit build up.

    .
Most of them are not corrupt - they are just hugely underresourced and incompetent! There are one or two who do appear to be corrupt however -mentioning no names but we are all in it Together!!

I'm in need of a company of the old fashioned type with 12 EQUAL payments but no idea how to find them if they do indeed exist.

I've now received 3 emails from BG, each saying I have a statement ready. Logging-on I see three statements and they are a perfect example of extreme complication. I would post them here but really, life is too short. Each one has a different amount due but two of them include amounts brought forward from one of the others. As they all have the same issue date it's impossible for me to work out exactly what they want me to pay. In any case, although the start and end readings they've used for gas are correct, the final reading they've used for electricity is 96Kw more than the reading I supplied to the next supplier - Avro. I'm planning to wait until I have my first Avro statement, showing that reading and will then copy it to BG with a request that they amalgamate these three confusing statements into one correct one.

That's fine if your actual consumption for the year turns out to be exactly as estimated.  But in the real world that doesn't always happen, e.g. the weather gets colder, sprogs return after uni, predicted usage was based on property type because no previous figures were available for a new build or after a move, etc.  Plodding on with equal payments that obviously aren't keeping up with actual usage would just guarantee bill shock at the end of 12 months.
You might find Variable Direct Debit would suit you.  You don't build up a big credit balance that takes weeks to reclaim when you switch supplier, or months when they go bust.  You also find out quickly if you're using too much, so you can take corrective action sooner rather than much later.  Of course, it means bigger bills in winter so it may not suit everyone.
Unfortunately most companies refuse to offer Variable Direct Debit, but E.On is one that does.

I've finally managed to dump British Gas. I've paid off what I owe them for the period from 22nd Dec to my switch date of 5th Feb and I've had my first monthly bill from my new supplier. After weeks of arguing I've managed to get all readings to tally although BG miscalculated in my favour to the tune of £20. A small price for them to pay for their accounting incompetence.
I still owe approx £37 to the Breeze administrators but until I see some kind of bill from them I'm certainly not chasing them.

I had a similar issue with incorrect billing. I disputed 4 of their bills and although they say they cancel them they just reissue what they think will keep you from complaining. You'll still see the incorrect bills on your account for some reason. My ploy was to tell them exactly what the bill should show regarding dates and readings. They issued the bill and I paid it.
