    ADMINISTRATOR UPDATE – 28 FEBRUARY 2020

Customer accounts have now been finalised and final balances issued from 28 February 2020. Please check your account.

Any queries should be sent to theteam@breezeenergy.co.uk quoting your customer reference number.

    Credit Balance

Under OFGEM regulations, British Gas is now responsible for the credit balance due to domestic customers so your balance is safe.

Outstanding credit balance information has now been passed to British Gas. This information is being verified and processed by British Gas and the Administrators are assisting within any queries. British Gas are working hard to allocate these credits as quickly as possible but this may still take a number of weeks given the volume to process.

    • If you are a British Gas customer, British Gas will apply the credit directly to your account.
    • If you are not a British Gas customer, British Gas will issue a refund to you.

The Administrators are unable to make payment or assist you in obtaining repayment for credit balances from British Gas.

I have just received my electricity bill from BG based on the initial reading I gave them and the reading I supplied to Avro, the bill does not include gas!! and as expected there is no credit from Breeze on it

I have two separate Breeze Accounts, have checked both and neither have any finalised and final balances indicated on them?

Same with my accounts? All this does is add further frustration and uncertainty!

I have now received my final gas bill.  BG have used a different reading that the one I provided to Avro.  Its in my favour as its less and they have put `final meter reading` on the bill!   Glad I waited and didn`t pay the estimated bill they gave me a few weeks ago as the overall balance is £20`ish less than they wanted not a lot but at least I won`t have had the hassle of trying to get the over payment back. - bill needs to be paid by he 19th March.
Still nothing showing on my Breeze account.

Curious that they didn't use the reading you gave to Avro. Did they use the end reading you gave to Breeze as their start reading?

Hi JohnB47, I thought it was a little odd as well.  BG used my Breeze readings to start both the gas and electricity accounts.  They used my Avro reading to end the electricity (bill says `you gave us your final meter reading`)  but the gas they used was 18826 (bill says `final meter reading`) when the reading I gave to Avro was 18861.  Its very strange but the bill says final readings so that is all they are getting out of me  :)
Now all I want to do is get the Breeze bill sorted and paid and then find my `credit`

You may well find that Avro have changed your opening read  for gas - they certainly used a different opening read for my leccy when I switched to them last September - their explanation was that their reading had been verified by the data collector - HOWEVER, Yorkshire Energy who I had used prior to Avro, used my actual read to close my account!
Go figure. I "GAINED 41kwh on the changeover :D

Going back a few weeks when I was trying to get some information from BG by chat regarding my bill and credit from Breeze it seems that a complaint must have been registered! (I don`t remember).  I have just received this email from BG, hope the information is helpful:

I’m sorry you’ve had to contact us regarding your refund from Breeze Energy. I’ve tried to call today, but must have missed you.  Thanks for giving me the chance to look into things.

Please feel assured you left British Gas on 17 February 2020 for gas and electricity.

British Gas will honour customers’ credit balances for both current and past customers of Breeze Energy who are owed money.

British Gas will review details of any debt or credit on your account. Please wait for us to contact you with relevant instructions. The review process may take several weeks as British Gas needs to receive and review records from Breeze Energy. When calculating your credit balance, they will deduct any unbilled charges for your supply by Breeze Energy. These are calculated by Breeze Energy’s administrators.

I’m sorry we have no timescales at present as to when this will be completed, and you were misinformed when you queried this previously.

I understand that this isn’t the outcome you wanted and I do understand your dissatisfaction regarding this issue, however, as we cannot change the outcome I’ve updated our records and closed your complaint.

If you’d like information about our complaints handling procedure you can view a copy by either going online at britishgas.co.uk/energycomplaints, or by getting in touch and one of our advisors will arrange to send you a copy free of charge.
