  • Morning all

Quick check in from me before we head off on our final trip of the summer - to the Lake District. After 2 Alton Towers trips, this one was definitely my choice :rotfl: We can't check into our cottage until 5pm but we're going to head off in the next hour or so and spend the day in Kendal. I don't think I've ever been before and I've been to the Lakes loads as we live quite near.
So unlikely that there will be any more nsd's but I have really managed to keep a hold of my pennies so I'm pleased with that.

Enjoy yourself, CCL. The Lakes are one of my favourite places. We go there every December when it's a bit quieter. So relaxing.

Gas man arrived eventually so got nothing done. I hate hanging around waiting for people to turn up. Difficult to plan anything. Anyway NSD 19/15.

Another NSD here, have hit my target of 19 for the month. Sister and niece came round and kept me company for a bit.

Today I am grateful for a good journey, for nice food in the services, for relaxing in the house, for seeing an old friend, for getting all the shopping done quickly, for a nice chat with a lady in the queue, for star wars vi (the final hour of it), for a plan of action for tomorrow.

apple muncher - Thank you. It was hard, but now her true colours have come alight. I can now focus on doing more positive things with my life and not feel guilty about doing them.
    NSD achieved 21/20.
Walked to and from flat/cousin's house.
Had a nice time around my cousin's.
Did a little bit of housework.
    Also chilled out this evening.

    Third attempt.

No more Nsds. Finished the last strip of the third blanket today so they are all packed and ready to go. Spent some time cutting out shapes for lavender bags (hearts, butterflies, stars, triangle trees) in a variety of fabrics including green gingham and a red check for Christmas, for crafts sessions. Will do more tomorrow as I want people to have lots to do and lots of choice (covering next week when I'm away).

MUm's going out for a picnic tomorrow so I'm going early so someone will be in when her pills are delivered. I've also done an on-line order today that will come whilst mum is out - stocking up the soup cupboard for winter (+ tinned veg, fruit, dried pulses, pickles and hot drinks).

Today I am grateful for episodes of Taggart, for being done with sewing knitted squares together until next year for using up oddments to make something beautiful.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Had the last 3 days off work. Took part in a 10k yesterday but other than that have had a really relaxing few days. No idea how many NSDs I've achieved unfortunately. Started work on the September challenge so will post it in the next few days :)

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Seem to have done nothing but housework since I got back from my hols - that's the price you pay for being away for 3 weeks - and the house not empty... Did some cooking & baked a cake, did the neverending washing up which cooking inevitably causes. might have to bite the bullet & purchase a new DW..

    Aim – for 15 NSD’s now 11/15.

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Nothing today but accumulating more receipts..still need to input to spreadsheet. Will try to do after this post (!). Err no..

Get (prepared for Xmas) – Wool arrived for gift I will be knitting - colours I think will suit my aunt, hopefully. Downloaded free pattern for it. Ordered some cards for birthday/Christmas that are topical for the celebrations, before I forget. Looked into ordering a cake for my uncles birthday also. Sadly one of the things I ordered for my uncle they don't have & have refunded me..any ideas for a gift for an 80 year old in not great health?? No progress here although the cards I ordered arrived, they are very good. Have made a start on knitted gift, seems odd not to be knitting socks tbh! Not sure of the colours but hopefully they are ones that aunt will appreciate more than I. Had to first wind the skein into a ball, couldn't be bothered to get out the contraption that winds into a cake, big mistake. Hey ho eventually I ended up with a ball not a tangled mess. Did a bit of this project today, did have to pull out some of it but think I have the hang of it now. Would be lovely to get the gifts done ahead of time, instead of frantically trying to finish on Christmas Eve..

Utilise (free activities in your area) - none available.

Share (money saving tips) – already done

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, have my cold infuse teas now, first one I tried was nice, second one not so keen. Am sipping my way through these

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!
