greent - happy anniversary - same amount of years as us

Raining and cold here today. Planning to nip out soon and return the running top I bought for DD last week for £28 as she picked one up yesterday in the CS for £4. Will be trying to get DS a new pair of joggers whilst out as he only has two pairs that fit now, will fill car up too using Tesco 10p/litre off voucher.

    greent - Happy Anniversary.

    apple muncher - Thank you.

Was a spend day today. Went on a guided walk in London. It was about Arthur Conan Doyle. Was very interesting.
Did walk through the park to the station and around London.
Sadly I had to finish a friendship due to the negative things with her and her family. Was not helping my health. Also felt that she did not want me to have any other time with other people.

Well done Kerry Woman on ending a toxic friendship. It's tough to do, but will benefit you inthe future.

Today I am grateful for kind friends, for Star Wars episode VI, for Jabba the Hut meeting his demise, for finishing some bunny clothing, for bumping in to a neighbour, for sorting out a bit of stuff, for the roof not leaking.

Today wasn't a NSD in the end. OH and I went out to a local tearoom for brunch, spent £11.

OH also drove me to see my share horse and we had some cuddles and carrots :) it made my day (or week!) to get out of the house and have some time with the big lad (the horse that is not OH :p). Didn't stay too long as the weather was foul as I'm sure it has been elsewhere.

As it was a spend day I also ordered a couple of books online (secondhand) and some fake tan :o

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Relatively boring day - though the way things have been lately, it's quite welcome tbh. Raining almost all day so the garden got a good soaking, had a bit of time in the greenhouse - want to plant a few seeds in advance for next year, trouble is most of them are well out of date so might not germinate at all. Ah well, I'll give it a go!

    Aim – for 15 NSD’s now 10/15.

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Nothing today but accumulating more receipts..still need to input to spreadsheet. Will try to do after this post (!).

Get (prepared for Xmas) – Wool arrived for gift I will be knitting - colours I think will suit my aunt, hopefully. Downloaded free pattern for it. Ordered some cards for birthday/Christmas that are topical for the celebrations, before I forget. Looked into ordering a cake for my uncles birthday also. Sadly one of the things I ordered for my uncle they don't have & have refunded me..any ideas for a gift for an 80 year old in not great health?? No progress here although the cards I ordered arrived, they are very good. Have made a start on knitted gift, seems odd not to be knitting socks tbh! Not sure of the colours but hopefully they are ones that aunt will appreciate more than I. Had to first wind the skein into a ball, couldn't be bothered to get out the contraption that winds into a cake, big mistake. Hey ho eventually I ended up with a ball not a tangled mess.

Utilise (free activities in your area) - not today, lots of rain.

Share (money saving tips) – already done

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, have my cold infuse teas now, first one I tried was nice, second one not so keen.

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!

Managed to find DS a suitable pair of joggers yesterday for £8, we were going to get 2 pairs but he has 2 others and some skinny jeans so we settled on one pair. Paid £20 towards a coat that DD wanted, she paid the other £15, she needed a practical winter coat aside from her school coat but she loves things for about 5 minutes then says it's uncomfortable/the wrong colour/too long/too short etc and won't wear them so I made her pay part in the hope this won't happen.

    Today should be NSD12

I have plans to go scrumping in the community orchard and to make a crumble

Plus diy stuff I will not bore you with, but I am getting so much done!!

Much shorter list of things to do today = SUCCESS

Enjoy your bank holiday, lovely turtles, it is the last one before Xmas, and only 4 days until we hit the --bers (months ending in -ber).

Feeling wonderful now it is cooler.... just remembered I am too fat to fit into my winter coat.

We did intend to go for a long walk yesterday but didn't get very far before the rain came bucketing down so we had to turn back. Probably just as well as the man is coming to do the gas safety check this morning and I had to clear the bathroom cupboard so he can get access to the boiler and the dreaded cupboard under the sink so he can get at the meter. I suppose that's a bonus. I've been putting off doing that for ages - now I know where all spare cleaning stuff and bin bags are.
Himself loves the new TIVO box. It means he can records lots of football whilst he's watching a live game. Oh joy!!!! I'll never get to watch a decent programme ever again.
    So I'm now on NSD18/15.
It's not a bank holiday here so I hope you all enjoy yours wherever you are.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
