Up to 17 NSD's, was meant to be out with people from work but the ankle issue has put paid to that. It's good that it saves me money but also annoying as I'm bored being inside! Desperately want to go for a walk and get some fresh air but that won't happen for a while! The weekend should BE two more NSD's, although I'm considering booking a horse riding event for late September. It's more of a training thing and less riding so the ankle shouldn't be an issue by then but I'm in two minds just in case.

Was a spend day today. Small top up food shop, top up oyster card, tv mag, dressing grown(did manage to save £4 as got 20% off, used loyalty card which I put the offer on) and meal with friend who I used to work with.
Did walk to and from the tube station through the park.

Quick check in - no more NSDs, only small spends (not terribly worried about it atm). Yesterday felt like a bit of a write off - the battery of the clock I was using must be running down and when I turned the laptop on, I found out it was 3 hours later than I thought it was. Ankles and other bits were aching from doing mum's shopping on Wednesday, so sat watching old episodes of Taggart and sewing baby blankets.

Could not get to sleep so watched another episode and started sewing again. Contacted DS1 for his new phone number and now have future d-i-l's as well (so we can play the I'm at x, where are you? game when we are in Italy). He mentioned something to check up on (added to enormous list). Contacted DS2 and arranged for him to come round to give me details on accomodation, flights and few other things to discuss.

Fell asleep after morning pills at 5.45am. Alarm did not go off and woke later than planned. Quick wash, threw things in bags and went to mum's. Hairdresser was just finishing her hair so I just had time to nip in the bathroom to wash my hair before it was my turn. When she went to her next appointment, cleaner and mum had dinner, I made myself toast (no breakfast).

Spent most of the day sewing. Completed the first blanket, more than half way through sewing up the second but my arm started hurting around 2 hours before I came home so having a little break - no need to finish them by tomorrow because they can't be delivered until Tuesday.

Today I am grateful for the flower displays on the town hall and the twinkly lights thre and in people's gardens (coming home in the dark again) and for progress on blankets (also much neater than last year).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Up early to take delivery of an upright freezer...it joins the other 3 chest freezers (!) in the garage. Not as bad as it sounds though honest, as 1 is turned off & needs disposing of, of the remaining two, one is very old, iced up & needs disposing of when empty - to leave us with one small chest freezer & the new upright one. That's the theory anyhow, will see how it goes. At least this way I can organise what I have, atm it's impossible to see below the top layer of the chest freezer, who knows what lurks in there..

Aim for 15 NSD’s now 8/15. Probably not going to make 15 but will try.

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Nothing today but accumulating more receipts..still need to input to spreadsheet.

Get (prepared for Xmas) – Wool arrived for gift I will be knitting - colours I think will suit my aunt, hopefully. Downloaded free pattern for it. Ordered some cards for birthday/Christmas that are topical for the celebrations, before I forget. Looked into ordering a cake for my uncles birthday also. Sadly one of the things I ordered for my uncle they don't have & have refunded me..any ideas for a gift for an 80 year old in not great health??

Utilise (free activities in your area) - not today, lots of rain & hailstones at times. Picked some blackberries & apples in the garden for crumble though.

Share (money saving tips) – already done

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, have my cold infuse teas now, first one I tried was nice.

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!

Yesterday was spendy - but all less than I wanted/expected to pay - found a few bits on the list from the local charity hospice shop/second hand shop - paid half what I had budgetted.
I am on the 'Do it before September!' wagon.
Motto for the next week is just get it done and finished.
I am decimating some of the lists.

Laundry on the line already - 2 loads - and there is a delicious crisp chill to the air. Autumn is knocking on the door, I fear my surprise successful tomato experiments will never ripen....

Found a two handled mug for my step -gran, it is pottery, a bit thicker than she is used to, but a nice shape - she has parkinsons and has a tremor, but 79 years of being right handed makes her forget her left is much steadier, so a two handled cup allows her to steady a hot cup of tea, or grab it if her right arm goes nuts.

There is nothing at all that is properly pretty/ visually pleasing in the older person/personal care field and a lot of awful plastic things that older people would not want to use (too much like t0mmee t1ppee when you'd rather have Tommi Iommi)

Maybe that will be my great money making idea - I know it will come one day.....

Nooooo! Please don;t book it. I understand the frustration of immobility, but the end of sept does not seem to give your ankle enough time to start to heal up, let alone get its strength and mobility back...

lcc86 - I agree with Apple. Honestly, it took weeks for mine to start healing.

We had a bit of a walk today and bought some fruit and YS salmon. So a little bit spendy.

Managed to get some cheap wrapping paper and gift bags for Christmas. It's quite plain - red and white stripes - but It'll look fine once I've added some ribbons and bows.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
