    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Many many thanks for all your kind wishes - I really appreciate it a great deal. I haven't told anyone else (except you lot) and we are still none the wiser as to what happened as yet. DD went back to work today - I think the best thing so she is busy - but she works for the emergency services & they do have the same thing to deal with sometimes. Although I think they will be sensitive & not despatch her if at all possible.

Now to today's crisis - not at all on the same level, but I came down this morning to a collapsed dog, who clearly was unable to get up, and not amenable to getting in the car. One brilliant Animal Ambulance & driver later & swift trip to vets, she is back on her feet & we hope on the mend. Confirming that she weighs 7 and a half stones

DH said to me - Tomorrow, please don't wake me up with any more bad news....

Aim for 15 NSD’s still 6/15. No chance of an NSD with a hefty spend at the vets etc... boo

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Nothing today but accumulating more receipts..

Get (prepared for Xmas) – nothing today

Utilise (free activities in your area) - not today. All activities far from free today.

Share (money saving tips) – already done

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, I think this will be some Twinings, but will decide later. I'll be lucky if there's 3 pence to treat myself with at this rate..

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!

    Still on NSD9

Had to shop yesterday as the kids drank all the milk and did not tell me. Swines.
Ended up spending £13 and got my £5 free loyalty bribe. Made a most excellent biryani that everyone loved. Will make again. It was my first biryani. So cheap!

    Aim – for 15 NSD’s 9/15
Update (Budgets) – am being paid back for step-gran's house insurance (£100 cheaper than anything she was quoted ). Old people without internet savvy are being ripped off. Help them out!!

Get (prepared for Xmas) – nothing yet. I am aware when it is happening. I think I will drop back into the competition pages. Usually hit them quite hard after the kids are back at school.

Utilise (free activities) - does cleaning count? House looking quite sparkly in certain areas. Like the city dump in others. It will all join up (the sparkly areas, not the junky ones) in the end.

Share (money saving tips) – help old people/' people who do not understand technology. Gas / electric / phone / house insurance etc. savings aplenty to be had.

Treat - today I will treat myself by not spending any money; because I am worth it.
Might stick some conditioner on my head after picking up kids from football club. I quite fancy smelling like a coconut for a bit. Oh, and will paint my toenails again. Love nice painted toenails. It is just so silly.:rotfl:

Aim Still on 3 NSDs - only spend yesterday was on a haircut - last had my hair cut back in Feb, so not a frequent occurrence! :D Phoned at 4.30 for an appointment and was offered 5.10 if I could get there as there had been a cancellation - as I only live less than 10 mins drive I jumped at it :T

    Update (Budgets) done.

Get (prepared for Xmas) Some small bits purchased. Lists written

    Utilise - not really

Treat (yourself) - have spent on haircut and eyebrow wax/ tint this month - very treaty spending!

DS3 uniform all sorted - still need to check through DS2's. Also got the 3 boxes of hand me down stuff from the loft (for DS3 and DS2 from DS2 and DS1) and have started a trying-on session. Looks like I should hopefully be able to just send 2 boxes back up there.

Had a flurry of throwing/ recycling lots of little random bits of toot here and there yesterday. Have also gathered a bag of random items for CS, added a couple more to the 'to sell' pile and have a growing bag of fabric recycling items for collection tomorrow (jeans and joggers with holes in knees, will-never-be-white again shirts/ polos, worn and frayed pillowcases) Oooh - and I sold a small bag of DS3's old clothes via fb00k and have had an enquiry about another bundle of them, so will deal with that :)

Sashanut - hugs to you and your daughter

lcc86 - torn ligaments hurt! I tore the ones across the top of my left foot last October and they still aren't back to normal - I have to do stretching exercises. Definitely take it easy! x

Tropically - well done on all the selling/ consuming. How long before you go?

f0xh0les - yep, am sure you broke up earlier than us (although I did have one break up on July 13th, but that was an anomaly an waaaay out of line with the rest of Glos's term dates!) And my education is clearly lacking - I don't know the wonderwoman theme tune to be able to hum it!! :D
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul

    Lots of love.

Thanks very much CCL - she is up on her feet now - still limping a lot & indoors though, just had her first lot of meds for the day, so hopefully will keep improving when that kicks in. She must be feeling bad, as she isn't obsessing about getting to our new kitty, which normally occupies every waking moment for her...he is very naughty & taunts her every possible chance he gets - shoves paws under doors, that kind of thing:eek:

Sahanut - I am glad the wee (?) dog is OK.

Himself usually goes out today and I'm on my own cleaning but his friend isn't too well so he's been here all day and I've done nothing (and I really mean nothing). Positive is NSD 15/15. Really must try to catch up tomorrow.
My printer isn't working and even the Boy's baffled. He's off to work today to consult with colleagues and I suspect there will be a great deal of googling going on. I really hate when things don't work and I can't fix them.
Football on tonight (yes again!) so it'll be book and an early night for me.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Sashanut, I hope your (rather large) pup is ok, must be a huge breed at that weight! I love a big dog

Worked from home today, visited the GP and was promptly signed off sick for two weeks  wasn't expecting that. I was clearly far too optimistic/naive. Spent the rest of the day writing some urgent emails before logging off. Going to have to find lots of box sets to watch!

Trying to look at the positives, I'll save loads of money on fuel, and work is quiet anyway so it's not the end of the world, and I'll have loads of time to research the best ways to rehab my ankle!

Glad to hear that you have such a sensible doctor! I think that the thing called 'rest' is a good place to start... Also, I have heard/read that plenty of protein and bone broth types of things are really good for ligaments as they mend. Protein for re-growth / mending of the tissues and bone marrow etc for the stretchiness. Now, I could be talking utter twaddle, but it may help...

Today I am grateful for doing most of my workout with the big girl kettlebell, for getting a shop done at aldee on my own before other people also wanted to use the shop, for a phone call I made yesterday helping a friend, for the lovely peeps at BG and BCC sorting out things for me, for starting some froggy paperwork, for some unexpected exam board pay (I finished that component over 2 months ago!), for a good chat with a neighbour.
