Hey Indigo! - glad you are ok

Did 2km junior parkrun this morning with 2 boys. This may turn competitive and DS4 drop out, which is not what I want. Huge coughing fit (pollen asthma sucks). Walked there and back so that puts up on 3km before 9.30.
    Knackered now.

Stroked a very friendly beautiful silver cat who is a proper Six dinner Sid. She sits outside the convenience store as she gets more strokes that way. She is gorgeous and a total tart. Everyone loves her.

We have another one who sits in the baskets outside the C0-0P and won't let anyone take one.

    Today I am grateful for:
having done a bit of exercise already
    friendly cats
the look on our hamster's face when confronted by a frozen backberry

Walked to Lidl today and stocked up on more kitchen towel. We probably have enough to last us until we come back from our holiday n February. No more washing tablets left but never mind. We did buy some YS fish. I know I said i wouldn't buy anything else but i do have a plan to use up the leftovers. Started today by using some of the chicken mountain to make cream of chicken soup for tomorrow's lunch and a left over curry which has been there forever for dinner tomorrow night.,
I am just about to phone the cousin to check on how she is and really have to email the other one in Canada. This is difficult because she lost her eldest son a few weeks ago and I really don't know what to say to her. I guess I'll find the words somehow.
So plans for tomorrow. Maybe go into town or maybe just take some things to the charity shop. Haven't quite decided yet.
    Have a nice evening.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

No NSD here today, I came home from my parents and bought a drink whilst out. Very cheeky treat! The wedding yesterday was nice and I caught up with a lot of old friends, but I really struggled pain wise with my foot. OH had to drive home today as I wasn't up to it. Will be staying home again tomorrow as I don't think I'm ready for work. I think I overestimated quite how severe ligament damage is, I thought I'd be up and about by now!
  • Evening everyone :hello:

Did a big grocery shop today bringing my budget to £247.83/£350.

Picked up 2 men’s shower gels for £1 each whilst I was there and donated them to the food bank.

Got 67p from a survey site bringing my additional income to £35.64/£50.

    Hugs indigo.

NSD for me as I have slept all day. Only went to sleep at 2am as I finally found the other blaket squares and spent some time working out how to put them together (lots of some and very few of others but the many need something mixed in to give a bit of punch).

So briefly awake with approx 4 hour sleeps in between. My arm however is much better - have been struggling with painkillers for the past few days but the sleep has made the pain disappear. Still want a lighter laptop next time and drawers where possible in the kitchen.

Today I am grateful for sleep, for some blanket ideas and for easy food (wraps with cheese spread and ham and tongue with pasta salad.

    NSD achieved today 15/20.
Went to some free events today. One was a tudor manor which was local and learnt some interesting facts. Also met a lovely lady on the tour round the manor, got chatting. Then off to London to the open air theatre to see 2 productions. They were excellent. Got chatting to a couple of people.
Did plenty of walking today. Walked through local park to go to manor and then back to local underground station. Also walked to and from station to open air theatre.
Brought my own refreshments. Managed to get my stainless steel bottle filled with water on way home.

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Busy day in the garden, it might have been hot whilst I've been away but it has still managed to grow somehow. Couldn't see out of one of the front windows the plants were so tall, so I spent quite a bit of time cutting them back to a reasonable level, so I could actually get to the windows to clean them at some point...put up some hanging baskets on the front shed, which make it look quite inviting, according to DH.

    Aim – for 15 NSD’s now 6/15.

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Need to prep spreadsheet before any more purchases made, otherwise I get lost & end up not doing it at all..

Get (prepared for Xmas) – nothing today on this one. Unless you count asking DH for a birthday/Christmas list.

Utilise (free activities in your area) - not today.

Share (money saving tips) – already done
Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, I think this will be some Twinings, but will decide later

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!

lcc - ligament damage can take longer than a broken bone to heal up. Take care of yourself. And do stay off work!

f0xh0les - I love cats and really miss having one of my own but we live near a busy road and they always have to cross it. Despite having had 3 dogs over the last 28 years I came to the conclusion this year that I'm not a dog person, I love mine to bits but apart from one or two other dogs I don't really like them they are very irritating how they always need to be barking and trying to fight and there are a lot of very, very bad dog owners about.

Dentist today for the kids and me then I need to do some cleaning this afternoon whilst DD does her shift at the charity shop.

Yesterday was spendy, DH needed new running shorts, we have been on the look out for them for ages in the CS's but to no avail so he bought two pairs of Adidas ones for £32:eek:, his other pairs are donkey's years old though so he'll have these for as long as they last. DD needed a winter running top so £28 later she has one of those, funnily enough of the three of us I'm the only one who enjoys running and I got nowt.
