    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Busy day doing all loads of washing & also picking a bit of fruit, blackberries & a few apples to make a crumble. Wonderful flavour from the fruit, it really bears no resemblance to shop bought. Sadly DW seems to be on the blink, so hand washing up is the order of the day.

Aim for 15 NSD’s now 5/15. Another NSD today but tomorrow won't be as have a hair appt, so will also do some shopping - minimal - then. I get there approx. 30-45 mins before my appt & dash into 3 shops, I really have to be on my game to get it done..

Update (Budgets) – still to do, should be minimal this month now

Get (prepared for Xmas) – Have been thinking about what to make for aunt for Christmas, favour a stole/shawl this time but have so far not been very successful.

Utilise (free activities in your area) - Free apple & blackberry picking in my garden..

Share (money saving tips) – Just a quick tip, for those who are picking fruit etc. Although I am not particularly short, I found it hard to reach the apples etc even though the tree was bowed down. Then I had a brainwave, & fetched my 'granny grabber' tool which I recently used to retrieve something from behind the massive display case in the hallway. This made it really easy to pick the apples, also to pull down difficult brambles to reach the berries. I have no idea where I even got this from, but can't think it was expensive..

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, I think this will be some Twinings, but will decide later

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    SFD number 10 yesterday :)

Sorry for my absence for two days. A level results arrived at 6am on Wednesday and I have been analysing and preparing for the students to get them yesterday and then working at the temping job.

Another £90 earnt this week so far but want to get more done this weekend as next week is busy and I might have to stop the week after to prepare for going back to school.

Lots of exercise done and 1/2lb lost this week. Also got a pet insurance claim back, two refunds and got paid for last weeks temping so I have now got an EF of £150, paid extra off the debt, saved towards the credit card and got a bit of spending money for the weekend :)

  • Morning all :coffee:
I had a quiet day yesterday, which was just what I needed after a pretty hectic couple of weeks. I did get a nsd but I've lost count of where I was at with nsd's - not many - but there never are in August.
I spent the day mainly watching catch up tv and crocheting. I've decided to finish everything that is started before I start anything new. This will grow the Christmas gift fund considerably :D.
Today isn't going to be a nsd - I'm going out for afternoon tea with a friend that I haven't seen for months. We're going to have a blimming good catch up - loads has changed for both of us since we last saw each other.

I made no progress on the school uniform (who knew T0sc0 no longer do online school uniform???) so yesterday was NSD8

DH offered to make supper tonight (yay!!) and then remembered last night there were drinks after work tonight for a celebration for those who have been promoted. Nice.
Looks like I will be cooking then. Boo!

Last day of football camp. It runs next week, but I feel 2 weeks is enough for them.

For anyone with a tinge of ginge (wigs/coloured hair spray allowed) in the L'shire area.
Orangutan day at Twycr0ss zoo on Sunday - turn up and get in free if you share the gene. I went a few years ago when we were new to the area and trying to make the kids like it (I do not like zoo's - I feel they should do more releasing if they continue to breed them).
Anyway, it is quite a sight to see that many shades of red in one place. Sun 19th

So while the kids play football I will be crawling around on my hands and knees finding the last pair of age 9 / 11/ 14 and 16 black trousers on the wrong rack .hidden at the back.

    Hi All-

    Just checking in!

Aim & Update- I am so lost on NSD's ,Today is one, yesterday didn't end up being as I went shopping for a birthday gift for a party we are at on Saturday. I have one whole pound left:rotfl: but it has only got to do me until Sunday. I did try & be sensible though, my cat food was "TRY ME FREE" and I just had to claim the cash back. I have done that now & will get the cash in 10 days (Perfect Fit for anyone wanting to do the same) . I also needed some new gym gear and went to Sports Direct and , got the cheap stuff, which actually is great and used hubs military discount to get 10% off.
Get Xmas ready- started looking at things I can get for people using bits of rewards I have.
Utilise-Hubs taking kids to play group this morning, FREE. my favourite word.
Share- ask around for good activities with kids, it seems obvious, but other people often know of amazing places I have never heard of and have tried it first!!
Treat- More Yoga & excersize- taking time out to do something for me :)

    Hi All!!
Sorry not been on this week due to a busy week away with work!

Mid month update. Last week wasn't the best weeks for me and this week has been so hectic I've felt a bit of track with everything. Including this. I've managed to keep my spending within budgets but the rest I feel I need to focus on now for the rest of the month.

Here's to a positive end to the month for everyone! :)

Aim11 days out of an aim of 15. Feeling really positive on this! Will make it to 15 days by the end of the month.

    Update (Budgets)
With being away with work I need to get back on track with updating my budgets. I know I haven’t gone over as I’ve only spent on food which is either within budget or will be reimbursed through expenses.

    Get (prepared for Xmas)
STILL need to go through my xmas list. I think this might be a job for next month.

Utilise (free activities in your area)
I’ve been told about free classes in a gym that has just opened. I think I’m going to try a few classes.

    Share (money saving tips)
Used my Tesco club card points! I don’t normally shop their but do use it for petrol, had £2.50 worth of vouchers which paid for lunches.

    Treat (yourself)
This weekend I’m getting to see my closest friends who I haven’t seen in months! It’s the best treat I could wish for :)

    Hello Everyone
Today was our weekly day out. We went to a local restaurant and had a lovely Italian meal (using a voucher which I bought for Himself's birthday) plus a bottle of wine. It was really nice and we've supported a local business which has only been going for a year or so and trying to build up a business in difficult economic circumstances. Himself really liked it so we think we'll go back again. They also do a few really good meal deals (e.g pasta or pizza at lunch time for £5.00).
Needed some tinned tomatoes (can't believe I don't have any - that's never happened before) and I've bought a roast beef joint for Sunday when the Boy next comes for dinner. Sunday lunch is the only food I'm buying now until we use up what we have (apart from veg, etc). Tomorrow Lidl has kitchen towel and washing tablets on their super weekend so we'll go stock up on Saturday and Sunday. You can never have too much of those and I'll give some to the Boy.
    Have a lovely weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
