Morning all, spendy day yesterday. Paid for the rabbit's vaccinations, also had to buy a couple of other bits for them too. Then drove up to my parents as we have a wedding to go to nearby today. The drive was horrendous, one of the worst I've ever had. Ended up buying food as it took more than 7 hours (should take 3). I forgot to pay for the Dartford toll so now have ruined today's NSD by having to spend. ah well hopefully that's my only spend today.

Got up early and had a walk to Lidl to buy kitchen towel and washing tablets which were on offer. Probably do the same again tomorrow and I'll give some to the Boy. It was a little drizzly but a good walk.
I took some photographs yesterday when we were out for lunch and emailed them to my brother in Canada. Got a very short but lovely and funny reply from him this morning. I love him to bits but I think I have to accept that he is never going to email me first.
It's the Boy's birthday next Sunday. I was really at a loss as to what to buy him but he's wanting to start cooking so we've bought him a mini food processor and some cookbooks. Probably not the most conventional birthday present but at least it's useful! I hope he likes it!!!!!!!!!!! I'm also thinking of buying a voucher for a burger in a really nice restaurant that he can go to with his Dad (60%off). I don't really have anything to do with his father but I think it's important that he has a good relationship with him.
So today we're watching TV (trying to get to grips with the new TIVO box. I so hate technology!). Pork chops with mustard sauce and long stemmed broccoli for dinner then an early night with a book.
Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Aim Still on 3 NSDs - yesterday was shoe shopping & a little bit of uniform and today was a McD's breakfast as we got up late and rushed straight out to a friend's house to finish their wallpapering (would have had bkfast at home if we'd got up earlier)

    Update (Budgets) done.

Get (prepared for Xmas) Some small bits purchased. Lists written

    Utilise - not really

Today I am grateful for getting zcut#1 done first thing, for finding a 21 daykettlebell challenge to do in Sept (no point starting it now as we will spend a few days in bham sans kettlebell at the end of the month), for the lovely man in the Sally Army shop who always has a chat with us and always gives us money off (!), for finding a dress to wear to a wedding next weekend, for dd on her pogo stick, for watching paddington 2, for sorting out some bills for mum's house.

Another NSD, mostly spent sewing blanket squares together but one bag is missing. Done several strips but need the other bag to mix colours (or will end up with a very impracticable mostly whits one at the end.

Today I am grateful for lovely food from the fridge (stuff DS3 decided would not fit in the freezer), good games (I play a round or two after each hour of sewing) and DS3 and Beloved being out (wish I had known earlier).

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Washing still ongoing & luckily was breezy & pretty dry today. Congratulated self for seeing bottom of Mt Washmore, then DD landed with her holiday washing grr. And it's wet, as they had a downpour on their last day, whilst riding in a open-topped bus..:rotfl: However she did point out that the only folk that endured the trip till the end were the Brits...

Aim – for 15 NSD’s still 5/15. Spend day again as I had a voucher that had to be used by today. However, also used a code I saw on FB - and made a note of - and it reduced the cost of the stuff by a considerable amount. It's to go to a family celebration in 3 weeks, not sure why it makes me feel like I must buy something new, but it did. Probably won't fit/look nice so will be going back anyhow..

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month.

Get (prepared for Xmas) – No Christmas prep today but did find a book I already have that has Christmas makes in, looks interesting.

Utilise (free activities in your area) - none today, unless you count washing and washing up, both of which I seem to have done a lot of today. Boring.

Share (money saving tips) – already done
Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, I think this will be some Twinings, but will decide later

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.
