Well done on all those nsds Kerry Woman:T:T:T

Today I am grateful for dd having a great day, for some lovely friends getting married, for my morning yoga, for a catch up with friends, for 85% choc, for clean bed linen, for balloons with little lights inside them, for not being caught in the rain, for a free parking space.

Thanks applemuncher and toni'sfriend, I think I'm just getting bored and have terrible cabin fever! Desperate to just do something other than sit and watch TV or read. All my hobbies tend to involve being active or outdoors so am finding this tough.

On the plus side I have another NSD today to add to the list. Been planning September's budget too. Might as well get all the life admin in order. Enjoy the long weekend all!
  • Evening everyone,

Didn’t get a chance to check in yesterday but declaring an updated budget of £302.51/£350 since then.

Received £1.15 from Qmee, additional income now stands at £66.72.

Was a nice day today so took the little one for a run around the park.

    Hi all :j

The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family

Poorly dog is now fully recovered - she managed to get the plastic lid & inner metal seal off a jar of praline cream....it's fully licked clean now. Filled with things that dogs should never eat, she has the constitution of an ox and the sense of smell of a truffle pig. That one will never starve. No wonder she is 7 & a half stones. Racing round the garden at a rate of knots, she is pretty lively too.

    Aim
    – for 15 NSD’s now 9/15.

Update (Budgets) – will keep receipts of all spends since back in the UK, at least for another month. Nothing today but accumulating more receipts..still need to input to spreadsheet.

Get (prepared for Xmas) – Wool arrived for gift I will be knitting - colours I think will suit my aunt, hopefully. Downloaded free pattern for it. Ordered some cards for birthday/Christmas that are topical for the celebrations, before I forget. Looked into ordering a cake for my uncles birthday also. Sadly one of the things I ordered for my uncle they don't have & have refunded me..any ideas for a gift for an 80 year old in not great health?? No progress here although the cards I ordered arrived, they are very good.

Utilise (free activities in your area) - not today, lots of rain & hailstones at times. Picked some blackberries & apples in the garden for crumble though. Picked some more blackberries today as rain forecast, plus a few elderberries. Sadly the best looking ones are too high I think, even with a ladder.

Share (money saving tips) – already done

Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item, have my cold infuse teas now, first one I tried was nice, second one not so keen.

The challenge will run from 1st August 00:01 until 31st August 00:00.

    Go turtles!!!!!!

    Hello lovely Turtles,

Today will be a spend day as I am taking my kids to Hayes garden center for a dragon thing they've got going on. Tickets already paid for & having lunch before but it seems naive to expect hub to walk into a garden centre & not spend anything lol.

A little unsure on budgets as I have quite a lot of cash - left over from the wedding , a little I was owed etc.

could really do with buying a new (to me) phone as mine is in a bad way...

Grateful for ; seeing my friend and her new wife so happy, Dad treating us to a Chinese & for my kids being over the moon with their new cape pjs, my mums neighbour got them & they LOVE them !! Xx

There is a whole forum of competitions on here! I do it if I am ill, then randomly something arrives 6 weeks later:rotfl:

Or invite people over for coffee - no need to tidy up as you are obviously unable to keep everything up to your normal standard

Rest is best for these things or you will regret it later. Sorry to be boring.

Lauren just had a google of cape pjs. Such a shame they only go up to age 10!:rotfl:

There is a chill in the air, la la la la la!

This week I am suddenly waking up at 6.20, in a good mood, ready to run about the house and get things done. I think it is Autumn.

8am and one child has just appeared, they have been up at 6.30 every day of the holidays, and 3 days before school starts, suddenly they develop sleeping sickness and need to be poked awake. Every single time. oops, another one arrived at 8.10

There is a slight chill in the air too, so I will test the central heating for 15 minutes this morning, just to make sure nothing has seized while it has been turned off for the last 4ish months. I think I may have turned it on once a month for 10 minutes just to keep things moving. Nothing worse than needing it, and then it going sproing when you turn it on, and then having to tap the pump with a hammer. Eeek. Although it turns out one of the men renting a room in the house next door is a water and gas plumber. How useful is that!

Today will not be a NSD so I am still on 11, with 5 days left of the month, and payday annoyingly on the last day of the month.

Be good, lovely Turtles, and watch out for snakes...

Fun few hours out yesterday (abandoned thoughts of DIY) - went and had a mock around the lovely old cars and bikes here - http://www.gloucester.gov.uk/Documents/Retro%2018%20photos.pdf. The owners are usually happy to chat and let you look at things closely if you're interested. Some beautiful, beautiful vehicles. Also popped into beautiful Gloucester Cathedral to look at this - https://www.facebook.com/WorkofHeartGarden/ - amazing knitted/ crocheted garden/ bedroom. You honestly cannot appreciate the detail of the items from the pics. Simply beautiful. Also raising money for a fantastic cause.
Out to dinner last night with besties. Lovely food, a small amount of alcohol, a very relaxed evening and then home to bed!

Today it is raining..... no outside diy, although I am hoping to persuade husband (when he eventually awakens) to fill/ rub down in the kitchen. I'm also planning on baking bread and a lemon Victoria-type sponge. And brunch. So not sure about the diy stuff.... Maybe tomorrow!

I need to post a flebay parcel (courier - so can drop off at local garage) and do some housework.

Oh - and it's our 23rd wedding anniv today
