evening all, quick check in from me before heading to the gym :A
today just bought eggs for £1 off a colleague but not counting that as a spend as i can only buy them when she is in work and its cheaper and nicer than getting them with the weekly shop
my frugal tip is always complain if you are not happy with something you buy. we were disappointed last night during our sunday roast out as they had run out of yorkshires (which they told us) but then didn't have roast potatoes so gave us boiled ones. the food was lovely but obviously we wanted our roasties. the manager came over and offered us all our meal free :T
my something nice was bringing in colleagues some strawberry plants and all the left over nibbles from my gathering on sat night.
something that has made me happy is cuddles with my cat. he is so fluffy and affectionate hes like a teddy bear :happyhear
going back to the gym for the second time in 2 months. still been paying the very high membership fee so need to get going more to make it even out! unfortunately its body pump which is not so good for the fitbit. only on 5777 steps so not sure if i will hit 10k even though i am walking to the gym:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Oh I am such an embarrassed and shameful hostess. Please turtles, do as I say, not as I do. I have a confession to make.... I came home tonight via a well known fried chicken fast food outlet and am £25 lighter for the privilege.
I'm terrible at looking after myself once I get a bit run down, and I confess to being very tired indeed at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I'm healthy, very happy and I can appreciate everything I have in my life. I'm just struggling a bit with time management at the momentThere basically aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do, everything I want to do and still sleep as well. I have accepted that I am on my own in terms of household management, and that I am a carer for dh as well as the kids, and I have accepted that I have to work full time and keep things going. I'm happy enough to do it but I need a rest every now and again, and I'm getting tired again. I can't figure out what to let go of and what can wait. I'm terrible at prioritising myself, and it tends to be the first thing to go when time is short. As a result, little spends that I can't really afford are sneaking in; I can't be bothered to cook proper meals and am eating on the run; I'm not really keeping on top of the housework; and then dh doesn't get in until 8pm and I like to spend a bit of time with him so don't get to bed as early as I should. Then by 6am I'm nowhere near ready to do it all again...
Sorry, this wasn't meant to be a moan. I am terrible at prioritising and organising, and I'm such a perfectionist that I'm my own worst enemy. I can't figure out where to get a rest from
Anyway today doesn't really have any frugality:p:p I do pay monthly at the vets for their care plan, which covers flea and worm treatment and annual vaccinations. Works out well in the long run.
Things that have made me happy - the nice weather, and getting home from work by 5pm
Kind act - staying back after school to help a couple of Year 11 kids who have had a supply teacher for most of the year. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Evening all
ccl I think a takeaway is needed for you to get a little bit of a rest. Could you perhaps schedule in some you time, where DH and kids have to look after themselves and you get to out your feet up?
Today is spendy as I'm at the chiropractor however I'm grateful that appointments are now every 8 weeks instead of every 4 days. So I guess that is what I'm grateful for and happy about today.
Frugal tip for the day is to not use your lights in the evening now it's much lighter. I watch th until bedtime with the curtains open and lights off
Today my kind deed was to offer two colleagues a lift to an event we're going to on Friday night. I like to drive so I can leave when I want but it also means one of my colleagues will do me a favour in return next week which'll save me some money.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Calling well done on finding another £10 to pay off that's brilliant.
Thrifty good one about your new phone.
Clippy amazing result to get your dinners free! Wholeheartedly agree that roasties are deffo not boiled potatoes substitutes.
Cat don't beat yourself up. Just think how many meals you have cooked from scratch compared to the average Britain.
Fmess isn't it lovely having these lighter evenings." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Sorry I've not been on this week, had a lot of stress - bought a car on Tuesday 10th and on Friday 13th someone bumped it in a car park  Had to take it to the garage to get checked, they checked it was safe to drive, got a quote for damage, now need to go through the insurance and as it's an older car I'm worried the insurance will write it off as from what I've been told insurers prefer brand new parts etc
Next Friday 13th I'm wrapping the car in bubble wrap :rotfl:
Not feeling happy or kind at the momentHave spent the weekend feeling miserable and stressed out
Spendy days recently with the insurance issue mean I've accrued 5/16 NSDs -- had been hoping to do better than that. At least there's only a couple of days until payday when my bank balance will be looking healthier.
Frugal Mark renewal / contract expiry dates on the calendar so you don't forget to cancel / shop around for better deals.
Thrifty That sounds like a great phone deal, can I ask which network that's with please?SPC - #483 [banked £134.15] - :staradmin :staradmin gold stars from Sue-UU!

Sorry to hear about your car Selene
As others have said CCL don't beat yourself up. Sometimes you need to cut corners a bit for some life balance and you do not do it regularly. So enjoy it as a treat!
Just popping on with another tip as I know some of you are GF on here and the cost of that. Just saw on Facebook that you can get a free taster box if you sign up with glutafin. Looks like bread, rolls, pasta, pizza mix etc. Worth checking out:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0
