    Commiserations Selene.

I am glad you had the takeaway ccl. I have had one too. Was prepared to beg DS3 to treat me but did not have to. Super tired and aching (more on that in a minute) and asked what he was getting himself for tea - he's back on takeaways atm. Would have been happy with a bag of chips but he suggested Indian (very good M-Th deal).

Dull but dry day so ideal for working in the garden. Started doing 3/4 hour work and 15 minute rest but slowed considerably after the first couple of hours.

Lots of things moved, sorted and have built my wood store. Had to clear a space, sweep soil, clear/ spray weeds and then move the table. Have used bread trays (forgot I had them) underneath, spread the tarpaulin over the top and then wedged pieces of treated wood between the table and the walls of the cobble raised beds.

Started to fill it. I was trying for another hour between 6 pm and 7 pm although by that time I really wanted to get in the bath. Only managed 3 pieces in half an hour, so brought in the pieces I had temporarily stacked in the backs (more treated with outdoor stain) and went for the bath. They are all just inside the yard (literally propped either side of the gate opening) but I will be using them to finish waterproofing the store when it is filled.

So cold and stiff (thought I might need DS3's assistance to get out of the bath) and even though the bath helped getting to the kitchen and back is an effort. Would love to have washed my hair but no way I could lean over the bath to do it. if I can't move tomorrow I will get a taxi to mum's for a shower and hair wash.

Not done as much as I wanted to but have a large clear space in the yard and plants and plastic bins are lined up on one side of the path - one bin is full of different sized plant pots, the other one plus a tall narrow compost bin are waiting to be filled.

Green waste bin is more than half full, a bag of rubbish has gone out and various categories of useful materials (broken crocks, usable soil, joining bits for plastic raised beds) are collected together.

What made me happy - getting things done, yard being tidy, more space, lovely food.

Not done anything for anyone else unless managing to get out of the bath by myself (sparing DS3's blushes and possibly his back0 counts.

Frugal tip - I have some specialist seed trays which were quite expensive but generally have more success using the plastic trays mushrooms are sold in for seeds and starting peas and beans off in toilet rolls contained in old washing up bowls. The bins are due for painting, I will use what I have. When I only had small quantities of two colours I did the middles blue and the top and bottom turquoise and then whilst it was wet I dragged the two colours, smudging them into one another - looked really expensive and effective.

crazy cat lady take care of yourself. You sound a bit like me sometimes. Not enough hours in the day etc. I'm not good at prioritising either. So don't beat yourself up, I know it's hard to make time or let things go. I hope it'll get easier again and I hope the fried chicken was good.

Selene Sorry to hear about you Friday the 13th.

BTW the phone is with Tescimo Mobile. Been with them over the last 6 years on contracts and then PAYG. But needed a new handset. Basic smartphone that'll at least run my apps for banking and the MSE website. They cheapest with the best rating was £7.50 (Alc@t3l). Tescimo have one of the best network coverage esp up here.

Run in the sun today before the rain comes for the rest of this week. Not much else to report

    Hello turtles
Sorry haven't managed to post for a few days again. I seem to have lost the plot altogether with the food budget, I'm already over and its only just past the middle of the month :o

Blood test results are back and as expected my iron levels are low so need to go and pick up a prescription for iron tablets. At least I'll hopefully have more energy soon :)

I think I'm now up to 6 or 7 NSDs, this morning I had to buy a kettle as our one died last night. Back later with my kind/happy/frugal things.

Selene hugs hope you gain if they write the vehicle off how annoying.

Today started well another 10 pounds at debt, then I spent. Just really down in dumps at moment, with not getting anywhere with jobs at home, fence still not up, think I will have to try and do myself and need to find someone to fix hole in my ceiling and new boarding around my soil pipe.

So booked myself a mini break, singer I like playing on a Sunday night and premier inn cheap and tagged on another one near the Cotswolds. May pop and visit relatives after and take a week off. So hold my head in shame. - clear the naughty step I am jumping on it.

Needed milk and brocolli(bunny) today and few make up things. Rinmel buy 1 get 1 free in superdrug and used 2 pounds of points I had on my card.

Thrifty - handy to know will bear Tesimos in mind when my phone contract runs out. Reception bad at my house however.

Mistara - so easy to get run down with your iron levels. I am awful, try to eat lots of fish, black pudding I love and its so cheap.

    Happy
got something to look forward to my wee break.

Kindness - offered to take something to another bank for someone - wish I hadn't massive queue, some guy kicking off there.

    Frugal tip

Selene - hope things work out smoothly for you with the car.

Clippy - well done on that promotion! Go you!

Bob - hope you are getting more sleep and that little bob is improving.

I am off work for the rest of the week as I am all swollen up! Doc reckons it is reactive arthritis (not uncommon in coeliacs) following viral gastroenteritis last week. Eek. I probably would have gone in to work today, except my hands were swollen up, painful and shaped like claws - so I couldn't drive. Daft what makes your mind up sometimes!

Now that I have a label for my woes, and concrete things to do to help improve, or at least slow down and eventually stop the decline, it helps me feel better.

I saw the same doc as last Fri, when I went in with my full-body rash, and I was very impressed with just how much she remembers of what I have told her. She gets a gold star!

Today's happy is cuddles from dd and short walks in the sunshine.

Today's kindness is holding doors open at the dr's for other people - normal courtesy in my book, but they appreciated it.
