Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
I discovered the joys of cold toast when I worked as a member of staff in a little hotel. We'd come in to do morning service and if they're was left over toast on the breakfast buffet we'd have that :)

Thanks for the tip off. I always feel guilty about buying Lurpack as it is so expensive unless on offer. But nothing else is anywhere near as good. So if you think Lidl's is worth a try I will!

    Dropping in to say hello!

Had to go to the doc yesterday, as I woke up with a full body rash . Nowt too bad, probably just a continuum of poorliness stemming from last Sunday when my skin hurt all over, and a week of not feeling like eating much and having a dodgy tum.

Dh took dd to dance this morning so I could do my exam board work, but they returned early as dd found the music hurt her head. This afternoon we collected her brand new glasses, which she loves :D, and traipsed around a gazillion toy stores. It was her money she had to spend, though.

I am grateful today for good coffee, for the nhs, for dh's cooking, for lovely work colleagues, for dark chocolate. And piriton!

    A SFD.

What made me happy. Lying in bed reading, warm from the sun but have a door in front of the window to shade me.

Not done any kind deeds or complimented anyone. Mostly have only seen DS3 and he has banned me from talking - he is doing a podcast with his friends. One of them is taping it as part of his course work and as they do not have permission to tape me, if I speak they can't use it. He is also sleeping in the front room so not to make noise when he's sleeping - why I stayed upstairs earlier.

Used the last of the washing powder so may have to spend tomorrow.

Hands still fragile - have put the hydrocortisone on 3 times today. First time I added a layer of E45 for extra moisturising and topped off with factor 30 sun cream. Shaved my legs yesterday and have dared to bare them so had to smother them as well. Avoiding doing things in the hottest part of the day but my bedroom is much improved.

Hi had a busy day out.

Went to icecream factory with dd and gs. Had a fun filled day lots of things to amuse kids there, very busy. Took snacks with us. DD bought ice creams. Got home and made some food. Then collected by friend and whisked off to surf centre to watch her son surf. Gorgeous sun, waves, live band and oh fit men!!! Vast improvement on eurovision. Had shared fab pizza and chips, few drinks. Cheap night out and different.

Shattered been a long day zzzzz

    Morning all :hello:
I decided to have the day off from the laptop yesterday. It's just because I'm so busy at the moment that I'm having to plan all of my spare time. Today will be similar because if I don't get on and plan to do some work I'll be in trouble over tomorrow and next week. Exam season is rapidly approaching and I need to get organised because my life isn't worth living during June and July but the cash is always worth it.
Mothernerd and applemuncher - hope that you're both feeling better today.
Fmess - was the family dinner nice?
I'm giggling at the cold toast chat. My dd regularly asks me for cold toast in her packed lunch. I feel like the worst mother in the world letting her have it. :D
So, I am really busy, and still desperately trying to hang on to appreciating what I have. I am determined not to fall down the hole of despair. DH seems to be going downhill again so I need to keep myself up if I can.
Happiness yesterday - catching up with my mam and sister after a few weeks.
Kindness - not sure. I hope that there's something in there.
Frugal - wombling lots of stuff from my mam who is moving house.
Compliment - to my dh. Trying to let him know that he is loved.

Calling - your day out sounds fantastic.
  • Hello and good morning everyone! Sunny day today! What have you got planned? In the tog household it will be a laundry and cleaning marathon.

NSD number 7 yesterday, but not today as we need to do a top up shop for packed lunches.

What made me happy? I spent much of yesterday with a new friend and colleague who came to church with me. We had a lovely time together. I also saw my other girl friends and had a good chat. Last night I had another date with my Brother (my sewing machine) and finished a dress that's been giving me quite a challenge. I might give her an outing on my birthday coming up soon.

Good deed. A new church member approached me yesterday and asked for a quiet word. It's her daughter's first day of her time of the month and is in need of s... towel. Could i give her one? Unfortunately I didn't have any with me so I asked my trusted circle of friends (on the quiet) if I could have one? I found one! The teenage daughter was so pleased. Made me realise, we need to have a cupboard with spare sanitary thingies and nappies for babies for emergencies like that. That will be my next mission. I also spoke to one of the teenagers in church who was recently diagnosed with type I Diabetes. I found out she was so unwell last week she had to kept in hospital for 2 days. Her diagnosis is so life changing in terms on her new lifestyle but she seems positive. We were organising a sew along baby shower supposedly today but the lady we are organising it for, has had the baby on Friday, so it will now be a baby welcome for when she's ready.

  • Talking about toasts, i bought some YS buns of different shapes and sizes from Morris the other day and made them into biscochos. It's sugary buttered toasts which the kids and DH love. I love them too but had to refrain myself from eating them because of my weight loss plan.

    Morning all :)

Not checked in for a week :o have been awful with spends, just buying chocolate, lunch etc....

Very good news is I got a promotion on Friday :j:T will be around £200 per month more so card will get hammered a lot quicker :money: the really good thing is I can now use my salary for everything I need including my holiday savings so all of my Airbnb money can be used for debt/mortgage/savings/home improvements :A

Have fallen off the wagon in terms of budgets but I think being on holiday part of two pay cycles doesn't help. Plus I've been thinking 'I don't need the whole of that budget', paying it off the card then needing it!

Today is going to be an awful spend day. Just spent £31 on coach tickets (would have been £15 if I had been organised to buy further in advance) and need to pay around £60 for a hen do. Also going to pop to homebase to get a few bits of wooden edging for the bottom of my fence so I can paint it while it's nice and undo my new climber plants as they are still tied up! As I won't be able to paint the dining room furniture until next month due to guests I will use the money I have put away for the paint.

Diet and exercise also been awful. I am goint to leave my purse at home and just take my credit card in case of emergencies to stop me buying rubbish. Today will be prepping for the week with snacks arranged and soup cooked.

Payday on Thursday  so more debt can be paid then

Congratulations on the promotion clippy :j

Well done on sourcing the sanitary products tog. I always keep some on me just in case someone needs one.

Today will be a SFD. Had a two hour nap after being up for only an hour and having had 8 hours last night. I must have needed it! Done my school work and walked the dogs so just a bit more cleaning and gardening and then to prep dinner for the family.

Loving the sunny weather, another set of sheets and towels on the line :)
