Good morning Turtles.
It’s Thursday, the day before Friday which is the day before Saturday….YAYYYY!!! (he says trying to be optimistic)
What has made me happy?
Getting up nice and early to have a productive morning before work.
One thing I done for someone else?
I made my GF her breakfast and lunch for her.
Frugal tip?
Have a splash of lemon juice with your tap water. Very healthy for your while a bottle of lemon juice costs 50p. No need for expensive diluting juice or fresh squeezed stuff.0 -
Good morning.
Today cuddles with the kids made me happy and DS educating us about dinosaurs. Did you know that there are still some and "they live farer than the Chinese, but you have to be careful visiting them with a boat as it might get stuck when the sea freezes"
Today will be another SFD as I am still waiting for my PIN. But don'w really need anything anyway.
Hope everybody that is feeling low is feeling better soon.
TOG i'm not sure about this either. We're saving for the kids to give them a lump sum later on (actually not sure yet how, when and how much exactly, and the money is in my name so we have control till they're responsible enough). I guess it could go towards Uni or a deposit for a house etc. Or we'll just keep it and go on a cruise. Although we'll have to give them the part that was gifted to them
. It's a tricky one, my parents helped me through uni a bit and uni was right for me back then. But often nowadays I don't think it's worth it anymore and so depends on what they want to study. Sorry but I don't think I'll be funding history of art or philosophy. But then my husband partied his way trough the college of art and makes a decent living now. I guess we'll just save and see what happens. Let them start school first....

Hey Turtles
Still exhausted, still trying to look on the bright side of life. Sun has gone in and done one now as well. But it is Friday tomorrow and I will have survived another week at work. It will have to be a busy Friday though because my book marking has gone to pot a bit.
So, today’s act of kindness was to send my dh a nice text message (I hope he liked it but he hasn’t replied ), happy thing was a Year 7 telling me that she had enjoyed her lesson this morning, and frugalities is again using up leftovers for dinner.
TOG – loving your YS bargains. Well done.
Calling – hope that your day has picked up some since this morning.
I’ve thought of a mini challenge for you. I dare you to pay someone a compliment.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

3 more thrifty tips I have just logged in to share before I forget.
1. Brocoli stems. I used to cut off the florets and bin the stalk because who wants to eat that right? Then I started freezing them and chopping them up for sauces and soups. I am making home made lasagne tonight with my £1 mince and 1 kilo house brick of cheddarso as I make my own sauce I have chopped a brocoli stem and thrown that in for texture.
2. Also for the lasagne sauce I had saved a pretty much empty jar of mustard which I added a tiny bit of water too then swilled round and added to the sauce for flavour. I usually save ketchup bottles for that purpose.
3. Always check you're reciepts before leaving the shop. This saved me £1 in over charging tonight as unfortunately for the store I am pretty good at remembering prices." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

My day got better. Got an appointment tomorrow with dentist as nerve is playing up.
Frugal afternoon off, took all the rotten wood of my garden bench and chair. Replaced it with wood I had and a lovely fresh coat of paint. Thought it was beyond repair so mend and make do top tip.
Had lots of sunshine, salmon stir fry so hopefully my vitamin Day levels are high. Not much fruit eaten, will catch up after tooth fixed.
Bob my daughter comes here and eats broccoli stems raw. Not bad tasting. My bunny eats any leftovers
Happy as I have saved myself money not buying any new garden furniture.
Frugal tip submit your meter readings done mine today and yeah 13.15 in credit.
Sent my traveller daughter a pic of grandson on beach we wrote her a message in the sand.

Evening all,
calling hope you are feeling better
ccl I keep meaning to ask, what's your specialism? I'm a biologist. Not sure how your school would feel about it but we're stopping marking books at mine :j We've been told that book marking doesn't have a significant effect of pupils' outcomes and we are to concentrate on 1 piece of work per week or two per group and just mark that thoroughly.
All those talking about vitamin D, make sure you get your B12 levels checked too.
I can't seem to stop spending money at the moment although not too much of it is frivolous. The kettle stopped working on Sunday night and I coped until yesterday, when after much research I bought a kettle and toaster. I'd been meaning to buy a new toaster, dedicated the gluten free food since my ex moved out 11 months ago but never got round to it. I've also ordered, using a £15 off promo voucher, a double set of double duvets from n3xt as I only have one set for each of my bed and the spare bed so over the winter I've been using one and washing the other but that means I have to have both clean if guests come to stay. So now I'll have 4 sets between two beds which'll be a luxury!
I can't remember when I last had a SFD as today I needed to take the three legged dog to hydrotherapy and tomorrow I need petrol and my takeaway from Wednesday has been reorganised to tomorrow night. The only positive (apart from having nice new things) is that I had been saving a bit of money for electrical work and that's not happening until later in the year, so I've got money for all of these spendsAlso my examining will start in a few weeks so that'll be a welcome addition to the income. apple do you feel excited and nervous before examining? I feel equal proportions of both!
