    Happy Friday Turtles! :j

Well I'm calling it NSD number 2 as I didn't get any wine on the way home from work :rotfl: oh so tempted though....

Thing that made me happy - Friday snuggles with my cat Ollie. Always lovely but it always feels nicer on a Friday, he seems to always know the day as well.

Kind thing - passed on the details of a good sports masseuse (sp?) to my colleague

Frugal tip - make use of all the resources in your work kitchen! Might sound mad but it took me ages to realise that I could do all sorts in work's microwave, ie scrambled eggs, cook potato etc. This is in tune with the taking lunch to work theme as well :D two for one :D

    Enjoy your evening :A

Hi all! Hurrah it's the weekend once again! NSD number 3 to say bye to this working week with. Had a very productive day at work. Not much drama at work apart from somebody phoning at exactly 5pm to report a broken machine only to find out it's not broken after all, they just need to learn to take blood samples properly so they could get a good result. Toink....

Good deed of the day - I gave all my colleagues a pack of dried mangoes each which I brought back with me from my holiday. I also stayed an extra half an hour to help the nurse from a/e re: not-really broken machine.

Frugal tip of the day - half a tablet of aldee dishwashing tablets works just as well as a whole one and even better than a well known brand. Never be afraid to "experiment" with supermarket brand items. You'd be pleasantly surprised

Shopping day and the last of our vouchers used up in sainz. You really do not get much for your money there, so we focussed on the gluten-free products.

A lovely friend dropped round a black sack of clothes for dd, so I washed it all (friend has 2 cats and I am stupidly allergic to furry critters) And dd has chosen what she wants to keep: most of it!

My kind deed was explaining to a removal man where he needed to go.

Happiness was caused by looking at the beautiful apple blossom in the garden.

Frugal tip: find activities you love to do and that keep you fit and mobile. No need for costly gym memberships.

    Hi everyone!

Oh my goodness, I have never felt so tired! Worked a full day yesterday, followed by playing mums taxi etc. Then went to help with the election last night. Was told it *may* run into the early hours of the morning. Well, we were still counting at 6am! Got home with enough time to have a shower and a slice of toast before going back to work at 9am with not a wink of sleep! Thankfully, my colleagues let me leave at 2pm. I will definitely sleep well tonight! On the plus side, I will get £110 for election duties.

Very quick check in - light bulb in here is going and think it will be too dark for DS3 to put a new one in.

Not much done today. Feeling totally wiped out. Tried to go to the doctor's but getting up 3 days in a row was too much. Woke briefly at 6 am and 7 am. At 9 am I made breakfast, took my pills and at 9.30 started running a bath. Got out of the bath at 10.15, needed to be at the doctor's by 10.30 am (they see everyone who is there before 10.30 am - great system when you hear about people having to wait 2 weeks).

Basically at that point I gave up and collapsed on the bed. Took until noon before I brushed my hair an put sun cream on. Ate two apples then got dressed and came downstairs. Went to PO to pay a bill (couldn't do it yesterday as we had a murder and the street was roped off). Phoned mum to say I couldn't go there. Have stayed downstairs for the rest of the afternoon (nearly went back to bed).

Feeling okay now (several hours more sewing done). Hope I can get lots done at the weekend.

What made me happy - not going to mum's. The stress would have been too much (and couldn't think what food to take with me), DS3 forbade me to go (even offered to phone for me).

Good deed - phoning mum. (light just gone - can't read the keyboard). Not much but at least I am up to date with news.

Frugal tip - not recommended but having a murder which means you can't get to the barber's (DS2), the PO, the chip shop or the off license/ snack shop (DS3) saves money. The police tape cut off about two blocks from the top of our street to the PO. Could be worse - some years ago the boys and myself were trying to do our respective paper rounds and there were armed police everywhere - that was a false alarm over an antique replica weapon. The murderer in this case is already under arrest. Will stop now.

It's been very hot here today, which makes a nice change from all the rain we've had up until now and watching my hens scratching around in the orchard and dusting themselves made me smile.

My good deed for the day was to pop a couple of items into the food bank collection point when I did some shopping today. Not much really, but I hope it's useful.

I managed to PAD out some left over bolognaise sauce with a can of chopped tomatoes and some bacon to stretch it to feed four of us this evening. It was jolly tasty too, which was a bonus! Frugal tip - using vegetables helps to bulk out stingy meat portions so no-one feels hard done by.

I also enjoyed the money tips for sprogs TOG - great idea!

Eeek to the murder mothernerd :eek: thank goodness the person is under arrest!

Thing I was thankful for yesterday- nhs and antibiotics :) stomach is so much better already, to the point the red marks from the sticky dressing look worse than the blisters now :rotfl: thought I was being clever by cutting the middle of the dressing out and using a few pieces of tape rather than the massive sticky area but the tape pulled my skin off this morning

Currently on the train and it was cheaper to go first class so I'm stuffing my face with free biscuits and coffee :money:

Today will not be a sfd as I paid £3.65 for coffee and bacon roll at station so I could have a lie in. I did walk 25 mins to station rather than taxi though.

Won't be much other spends as me and my friends a kitty we pay in each month for our meet ups so kitty will be paying today :)

Yesterday was a nsd taking me up to 5. Then last night I slept for just under 12 hours! Totally unplanned but must have needed it. Sleep is a passion of mine. Feeling amazing this morning.

    Good afternoonTurtles

Sorry that I didn’t check in yesterday. Friday is always non-stop for me at the best of times, never mind after a week filled with uncertainty and anxiety. Thankfully the week ended a whole lot better than it started, and my anxiety is greatly reduced.
Yesterday’s targets – kindness = volunteering to run a staff wellbeing group at school next month (tea, cake and crochet :D); happiness = meeting with the Head going well and not bringing much work home; frugality = brilliant ys haul at Mr M whilst doing the top up shop last night.
I’m not sure where I’ll find today’s things from as I fully intend to have a pj day so it will be very quiet indeed.

Clippy hope that those antibiotics kick in soon.

Thrifty – pleased that you got your dd reduced.

Welshkitty – hope that you’ve managed to catch up on some sleep after your all nighter.

Mothernerd – I hope that you’re feeling a bit better. You’re always so non stop, you must rest every now and again.
