    Good evening turtles :D
I hope that everyone is enjoying the upturn in the weather. It’s most welcome to me after months of cold, dark, wind, rain and snow… Whilst my anxiety is still in overdrive, I have found that the weather makes me feel generally better and that I can cope a bit more with what life throws in my direction. Thank goodness because there seems to be loads going on at home and at work at the moment, which is why my check ins on here are quick and not that detailed. Sorry  Work has been more non stop than usual with the exams fast approaching and loads of meetings (3 this week and another one tomorrow) on top of the usual teaching load. Bagged another nsd though, which is a bonus of being so busy.
Today I am grateful for having a freezer full of food so that I can just eat on the run.
Not too sure where my act of kindness has come from today… Oh, I fed the cats for dd as she was running late for cheerleading.
My frugal tip is to get extra freezer storage space if you can. My £40 chest freezer from eBay has been one of the best things I ever bought.
Mothernerd – I love your cat litter idea and am definitely going to try it…
Fmess – huge congratulations on your promotion :j
Pollygarter – welcome. I’ve added you to the list :D
And welcome too DLMLYG – SFD is spend free day

Hello and good evening fellow turtles!

NSD number 2 at last! Weve spend this week's food allowance so my husband's under strict orders NOT to buy anymore. And I'm happy he's listened and we've stuck with cooking food from cupboard and fridge stocks. We had mushroom adobo and vege meat loaf and boiled butternut squash (had a tiny bit from the vegetable stew last Tuesday.

Went to WW for the first weigh in and I'm a bit disappointed I stayed the same. I suppose it could have been worse and I could have gained. I need to do better and track every food that I eat from now on. Here's to another week of TRYING to lose weight.

Congrats fmess for your promotion. Go you!

Things that make me happy - watching small dogs going for a walk. They find everything soo exciting. Chatting with people at my counselling place (may need to book in with the counsellor again if doctor and the things I am doing don't help).

Kind deed - took biscuits with me and joined in properly (lots of local history discussion).

Frugal tip - if your body says it wants chocolate, make it go for a walk instead. This should pay off over time.

2nd NSD today :) Things that have made me happy today - a good day at work, voting and seeing a friend in the evening. Didn't get home until after 8 so quickly made an omelette for tea. Don't think I have done any kind things today :o Frugal tip for the day - when using the oven, try to cook several things at once instead of just having it on to make one meal.

    Morning!

Yesterday was indeed a NSD as I expected. Was lovely to be treated to a nice meal and get to know my GF's parents better.

The next 3 days will unfortunately be spend days :( I will make a huge effort though to spend as little as possible. Starting with a trip to L*dl on my lunch break.

    Have a good weekend folks!!!

    Morning all!

Hope everyone and kiddies who were feeling under the weather are feeling better now!

Wednesday wasn't a NSD unfortunately as I went to morrisons. Did need everything except the pizza that fell into my basket :o

Yesterday was also a spendy day as I ended up having a pub lunch with a few colleagues.mit was only £6 but it was lovely to sit outside in the hot sunshine :) so I'm on the naughty step :o

Today will also not be a NSD :( the nurse called and I have a Staphylococcal infection on my stomach so getting antibiotics at lunchtime which is £9? Also out for a meal which is one of my planned events for the month. Looking forward to it but won't be a late one as I need to get up at 6.30am Saturday to get the train to London

Really loving this weather as I can dry everything outside and it makes me very happy sitting out in it. Working from home today so that's my lunchtime sorted ;)

Will need to think of some frugal tips!!

Fmess - great news on your promotion well done.:T Hope you manage to get your garage door sorted - useful to have locked garage.

Polly - laughing at you still wandering around the April thread, feeling bit lonely.:rotfl: Glad you found May.

Well boss came and looked at fencing - result getting one of the labourer's to do it for me. Hopefully no cost to me result.- 1 Frog eaten:j
Got someone coming to sort my water leak out on Sunday! Lets hope this 6 pounds drainage cover works out. - 2 frogs eaten:j

Just need to do passport thing now and find someone to fix hinge off my kitchen cupboard - going to look and see if I have a spare one in garage - how hard can it be?

Got lots of jobs done yesterday so feel happier, tad achy now. Cut grass, power washed patio never knew it was coloured, borrowed next doors power washer and as my hose pipe kinks all the time. He gave me a decent spare one he had. Had fun with grandson however still insistent he only eats peas on Saturdays, beans on Fridays and now apparently Brocolli on Friday. So will be a funny tea tonight.:)

Went to cheer up friend last night, can't believe the nhs can treat anyone this bad. Just hope things improve for her and her daughter soon. That was my kind act - as I was so tired hurt walking around the block. Also went and told my new neighbours good news about fencing - what a swell neighbour I am.

Frugal tips - hmm Well today pulled a fast one, claimed for eye sight test from work and also put in a medi cash claim. Only a small amount but it will come off my debt.
Did a survey from crowdology so now claimed 4 pounds today to my paypal act.
Trying to avoid going out tonight so tired and so broke I don't need to go out.
Happy to have some wine at home and collapse in a heap

    Today I need milk/ butter so not a SFD.

    Hello,

I too find NSDs hard this month but overall going better financially then I thought esp considering I have DS and DH birthdays this month.

DH was out last night so I got loads done, grass cut, potato field weeded (looked like I'm just growing weeds ;), dinner for today is in the slow cooker, prepped some things for DS party like the party bags, bunting etc. Still got loads to do tonight (cake, fruit and candy sushi, cleaning etc.) but feel on top of it.

This months grocery bill should hopefully be lower. Still got loads in the freezer and DH will be away three/four nights this month.

I'm also one for surveys. I'm only on one site (Val.Op.) but got £15 vouchers last month which paid for most of DS presents and stand at £4 already again. I am also doing some weird German postal thing where they sent me letters and I send them back and they measure the time taken, can't even remember how I got that. That gets me about £5-10 in vouchers too.

Heating is definitely off now. Got a bit of a shock when I put the last reading in and EDF were actually not that far off with their new DD :(. Also reduced the timer for the hot water and hopefully reduce the bill for next month drastically.

Will be away from here over the weekend as usual, so have a good one.

EDIT: Just got an email back from EDF again (a reply to my maybe too German direct way :o of saying I'm not happy with £146 either. And they reduced it to £116 which I can live with. Result. I'm sure there is a frugal tip in there somewhere like question prices/DD etc if you think they are wrong :D

Spent on food yesterday - we needed milk so OH did A1di weekend shop too. Didn't take the boys to the barbers as I was feeling rough with a cold - will go tomorrow but if that is the only spends I have tomorrow then I will still count tomorrow as SFD as cash was taken out ready to go to barbers yesterday, I was just too rough to sit in there for more than an hour with the boys (OH was in London on a (unsuccessful :( ) job interview.

Happy - sitting with my 2 youngest in the garden in the sun (school was closed as it was used as a polling station)

Kind - having a quick 5 minute chat with the number taker at the polling station - I've been in that chair myself and some people can be so rude.

SFD so far here today x

ETA: and because I felt (and looked! :D) so rough yesterday we didn't go out as planned with friends last night - reducing my social outings this month by one - yeay! :D

    Afternoon all,

You've been very busy in the garden thrifty and calling. Very good news about the fence!

I'm planning to do my back garden Sunday I think. Need to do strawberry bed number 2 (lift, thin out and replant in rows). Will probably have another 30 or so plants to give away! Although I imagine once I get the hammock out progress will be slow :o:p

I have just paid £240 off the cc as two Airbnb payments have arrived in the bank :j:beer::T will pay another £106 off next week when this weekends guests funds clear :money:
