thriftylass I sympathise with you regarding EDF -- I recently switched and set up a DD with them. Using reads from Feb and March they calculated that our annual consumption was 6,100 kWh and our monthly DD needs to be £66  Last year's consumption was 3,100 kWh and although we've used a little extra electric recently certainly not double our normal use :rotfl: Have you tried speaking to them through Live Chat? They're generally helpful on there in my experience and can adjust the DD amount there and then, it may be quicker than sending emails to and fro?
Didn't check in last night as I went to bed early with the fluHoping for today to be a NSD.
Happy
We have plenty of milk, teabags, and sugar -- I drink tea by the gallon when ill
Frugal
Use the cat* sleeping on your lap as a portable hot water bottle instead of turning up the heating
*alternatively use dogs or other small furries if you are not a cat owner
Kind
Agreed to go out to a discount store full of bargain items with someone else to give them directions (they don't know the way there and I do) ...I must must must not buy anything  a NSD is at stake here :eek:SPC - #483 [banked £134.15] - :staradmin :staradmin gold stars from Sue-UU!

I just did it through they're website where you can request a new DD. I've been with them for 5 years and yes, they are generally really good and set the DD at a level I want. Just found it astounding how they came up with a number 2.5x the current setting. Last bill was 37 leccy and 73 gas (still freezing up here till last week), new numbers (with summer coming !!!) where 82 leccy and 100 gas :rotfl:DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Quick update from me.
Sfd 4 will happen today so confident - updated my signature already.
Had an early night last night feel better today for it. Had a lovely play with grandson after work, forget the lollies it was cold so we had hot chocolates in the garden instead. After he got picked up, finished painting fence panels, managed to hit my finger with a hammer, big ouch, black and very sore today. Think I was just tired not really looking what I was doing:eek:
Ate like a piglet yesterday, not sure how I am going to lose any weight like this.:( Hopefully get a walk in before/after grandson today.
Going to make proper dinner tonight, nice pork chops defrosted it might stop me snacking as much.:p
Paid 166.00 off cc today, miscalculated slightly had to tf 20 back into my bank act from EF what a fool am I? Anyway happy to report under 3K now, thought I would be more upbeat about it than what I am. Perhaps I just need to get under 2k:DLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

Today is a SFDand loving the sunshine
I am happy because a friend gave me chocolates and a card to congratulate me and because my garage door was locked shut and I called the company who installed it and they thought that it was out of its guarantee period but unbeknownst to me, they enquired for me and a lovely local after sales rep came round and fixed itunfortunately as soon as he left it broke again however it's now broken and open. He did say that his method of fixing it was option one but option two involves ordering a £50 part. I think I'll just live with an unlocked door, I have nothing of value in there and I don't think anyone wants a dodgy mower with no on/off switch.
My frugal tip is cheese and onion potato pie, which is so cheap to make and I'm making to use up a lone large potato. It's basically mashed potato but cook and mash an onion with the potato, then sprinkle cheese on top and bake/grill. I have mine with peas and gravy but my sister says it's nice with baked beans too.
Today I was kind because I took chocolates into work for my colleagues.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Another one with an NSD and also enjoying the sunshine.
Today I am grateful for getting away form work promptly, for another uneventful day, for good coffee, for chatting with dd, for the right to vote.
When I went in to work today, past the perspex dome-shaped bike sheds, there was an wheelbarrow in there complete with a set of tools, alongside the bikes and scooters. Made me chuckle!
Today's kindness: cooking tea even though dh offered, and taking cake for my y11s.
Frugal tip: when you can dry your washing outside, maybe spin it on a lower spin revolution. Don't know if this actually saves leccy, but it makes me feel like it is!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Whaah! I haven't had a SFD yet  I've had good intentions at the start of each day but it soon goes to rat poo...
I'm happy today as I've got my van kitted out with purpose-made dog cages, so all the hounds can travel in safety now
My kind deed was dropping DH's postal vote into our local polling station as he'd forgotten to actually post it with enough time for it to arrive...tut...
Frugal tip? I charged both my Kindle and mobile using the in-car charger whilst on my long journey today. No electricity to pay when you do it in the car. Must remember to do this more often.0 -
I am SO happy to declare my first NSD!!! took it's time but we got there in the end
I voted, so that's my bit for democracy done until next time.
Thing that made me happy - my bf's silly jokes on fb messenger while we're at work
Kind thing - Took a letter to the postbox for my colleague
Frugal tip - always check your revs when driving, keep it under 3, and when possible put it into neutral and use the handbrake when you're stationary. I try and always do both of those things to keep my petrol down!0
