welshkitty wow that is an epic amount of work non stop! Hope you get a rest this weekend.
mothernerd sad to hear about the local murder
Today and yesterday were spendy days and tomorrow will be too. I have a confession, I have 5 events/outings planned in 6 days! Two today were SF but ate out last night for a promotion celebration, ate out for brunch today and then went shopping, tomorrow I have a meal out and on Wednesday I've been invited for a takeaway at a friend's. Oh well, that part of the challenge is broken but none of them will break the bank. I did treat myself to a new item of clothing today and it wasn't cheap but it will be covered by my next set of tutoring, which will be the week after next.
Lots of jobs to do this afternoon including mowing the lawmso is better get on with it all.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Happy naked gardening day everyone. No I didn't - living on the edge of a car park has disadvantages. May try later when it's cooler and darker - people wouldn't believe their eyes if they saw me anyway.
Feeling much better but taking it in stages this morning, my hip is not quite right today.
Have been through the baking trays and buttons (recently acquired my mother's button box and most of my grandma's too) and decided to donate most of them. Saved the colours that go with things I am likely to sew and all the red ones - may make heart shape pictures with them.
Reduced the shirt buttons to about 3 dozen (from about 300). Always used to cut them off and have spent many hours repairing shirts (including putting whole new plackets down the front) in the past but now thinking 'life's too short to stuff a mushroom'.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi everyone what a lot of busy bees you all are.
Went to bed early last night again but still felt shattered today. Dozed off this afternoon as soon as I sat down. Turned down night out with daughter I had a curry leftover from last night to eat anyway.
Had to spend this morning needed a new 170 degree hinge for my kitchen corner cupboard and managed to fit it even though the screws were in a different place and I haven't got a drill. Amazing what you got done when willpower is there.
Bought some plants b and q. Had 2 for 3 for offer on. So my hanging basket filled with petunias only cost £3.40 .
Popped to home bargains whilst spending mode for food stuff.
Hope you all get good rest this weekend.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Apple I shop primarily at Mr S due to proximity. I only buy basics level on everything except free range eggs and meat. I don't think it is that bad to be honest. I even went to the trouble to check on cost per nappy between Aldeee and Mr S and it was the same on their basics range." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Today I am happy that dd is happy to need glasses! Hardly surprising as both her dad and I have worn them from an early age ourselves.
I was kind while dd was at dance, showing newbies where to go. I also made the optician laugh during my own eye test (this is my frog from last month - I do tend to drag my heels at times...).
Frugal tip: take plenty of food with you when you are out and about all day, as we were today. Now, dd and I have to take our own to a certain extent (coeliac peeps here) but there will often be something we could buy at a push. Today, we had ooooooodles of food and munched through most of it. But bought nothing. Result.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I know - have made dh put it in his diary to get up there as soon as he can on Thurs!!! Can't believe the prices - so low compared with the sainz/marks prices: £1.79 for a loaf compared with £3; £1.49 for pancakes compared with £2.50.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Yesterday was a NSD and I made a wee payment towards the debt. Today I put in money towards 2 birthdays and someone's leaving gift at work (a busy month but we're a small team so don't have to put in often) and also done a supermarket shop.
Things that have made me happy over the last two days - something that's been on my work to-do list for a couple of monthswas finally completed yesterday, a short shift today at work, feeling a bit better, doing a clear out of my wardrobe and a yummy curry for tea.

A SFD and a productive one.
Eased into the day but washed my hair (overdue) as well as having a bath. Set the washing machine off.
Moved the rest of the garden soil ie decanted it from last year's potato sacks/ large plant pots, weeded it and moved it across to a new larger bag. Planted onions, used contents of various washing up bowls and containers to water the ones I planted a few weeks ago.
Food from freezer, more washing up done.
Best of all DS3 agreed to do a bit of his room. I have got him to commit to doing one of the bed drawers each day as the bed has to go outside on Monday at the latest for collection on Tuesday. i offered to go upstairs and do a bit and he said no and then changed his mind five minutes later.
We have done a bed drawer and about six boxes of various sizes. Seven things into the electrical waste bag, small piles for the recycling bins, a bag of rubbish, loads of pens thrown away or put in the charity pile, cards stacked in one place. Really really pleased.
He never wants to part with stuff. Probably had no idea what is in the bed drawers (remote control for a tv we haven't had for 5+ years?) and hates it if I 'mess with his stuff'. Then he asks me where his things are.
I am pretty sure all the stuff from the 4 bed drawers can be decanted into small boxes and hidden away in his wardrobe (he has recently let his friends have some items which didn't fit him) which would be a considerable downsizing. I already have one of the two filing cabinets in my room which he was previously using as bedside cabinets. Just need to work on getting him to take the single bed up to his room when the big one goes (it's solid wood and weighs a ton - I did try to get him to do it when his friends were here).
Today I am happy about getting DS3 to part with 'stuff'. Also pleased about finishing the soil clearance (not a huge job but getting it in order helps and path will be clear when we are moving bed bits out). Noticed the apple blossom again - very full but not quite open.
Good deed - 'helping' DS3. Quite happy to scoop handfuls of cards/ pens / whatever off the floor when he is in the mood to actually make decisions and let things go. Don't care if he keeps it as long as it is in some sort of order.
Frugal tip - sharing. My local history friend insisted on giving me some of the seeds he had bought (I have lots of varying ages but wasn't buying anything due to limited space - can't really expand until roof work is done). He wants some tomatoes back if I can get them to small plant stage (his garden doesn't have much sun). However I am thinking about sharing some of what I can grow, the counselling place has lots of flats and small houses for vulnerable people. There are some flowers in pots outside but I could share some of what I can grow with people who only have a window sill for growing. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am happy for my sisters' friendship.
My kind deed was add a new charity to my list of charities that I support by monthly donations.
My frugal tip is to leave the oven door open when you switch it off after cooking and it'll help heat your kitchen.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
