Evening all - another warm sunny day here, which was lovely.

I was happy watching DH and DSD making a new run for our expected additional hens and cockerel. No arguments and some good father/daughter time.

My kind deed was passing our car parking ticket to someone just arriving, as it still had two hours left. Saved them £1.50 :D

Frugal tip today is to remember to switch off the central heating now spring has finally arrived....yippee!

    Good morning turtles :D
After a lovely day yesterday of not even leaving the house I’ve had a rotten night of sleep. I was late asleep, and then awake on and off just before 5am. Best make sure I have another day of doing nothing very much and definitely getting an early night.
Yesterday’s happiness – things being much better with dh; kindness – diplomatically offering ds’s footy managers some advice on behaviour management ; frugal tip – batch cook and freeze. I used up all my old root veggies by baking them in a cheese sauce like a gratin. Check out sainsburysfoodrescue for good use-up recipe ideas.

Today I will be going out for tutoring, which will mean I net the £50 I need to try and make this month as per my own challenge. Then popping off to see the bestie for a coffee and a catch up. Have a good day turtles – stay strong!

    Morning all,

Today will be a spendy day as I have a celebratory meal out with my friends/colleagues as all of us have got promotions this year. I also need to buy another screen protector for my phone. I found a glass one last year and although they are fairly expensive, I ha e gone through two in 18 months and they have both saved my phone from multiple smashes. Also if I look after my phone it'll mean I can go sim only this summer or sell my phone and get a new contract. Plus the price of a new screen is £80 so even buying three screen protectors in 2 years, it's been cheaper than one repair :)

Just got back from walking the boys, the second load of washing is in and the upstairs has been tidied after a couple of weeks of dumping stuff in the spare room.

Hope everyone gets to enjoy the sunshine.

    Morning all :)

Fmess- check out eBay for the glass screen protector. I got a 2 pack from a uk seller for £2.65 free p&p. Not put it on yet so don't know if it's as good as the one I paid £10 for at a mobile stall. Also bought myself a case for about £2 but that's coming from China. I've got a lovely cath kidston one but it's got a few cracks in and the corner fell off. Getting a slightly rubber one this time!

CCL- sorry to hear about your awful sleep, hopefully you can get a good night tonight.

Yesterday was spendier than I anticipated :( my sandals broke when I was on the train there so had to pay £16 for another pair in the train station. Then as I walked over 5 miles I ended up with blisters so had to spend £6.50 on a taxi home :( but I had a lovely day out in the sunshine with my friends :)

Think I'm going to have a day in the garden today as the sun is shining. Going to do my strawberry bed but other than that will prob just set the hammock up and lie down all day :o

Need to plant stuff in my pots but will wait until June as visiting mum in Spain for a week and don't want them all to die!

Next weekend weather is not looking hot so will use to to do all the gardening inc fixing the fence and doing trellis.

Got some frogs to eat this week. Need to call electrician to query bill and get him to come and adjust the extractor fan time.

Also realised boiler is due service so need to call plumber to come and do that.

Also need to decide whether to stick with monthly lenses or go to dailies before my new batch is delivered in 2 weeks.

Today will be a small spend day as will pop to tesco express for a few items to keep me going until next weeks shop instead of doing a big shop today :)

Hello everyone! Hope you're enjoying the sun :D

Last night I had my first planned social event of the month - dinner and drinks with bf's family. Enjoyed it, it was such a laugh. I never spend time like that with his parents, even though I see them every week. The meal was lovely and ended up being so cheap even though we had rounds of drinks! Only came to £25 each.

Yesterday was a spendy day, so NSD there.

Today was supposed to be a NSD, but I my kind act involved going shopping. My mum normally does a big shop on a Sunday, but she's been really poorly and she can't walk properly so I had to pop out and get some bits to tide us over. While there I bought food for myself so that's the NSD out the window.

I am happy for - finally feeling a bit better after having a cold for the past week.

Frugal tip - before going shopping (ie clothes shopping), look in wardrobes/cupboards/drawers and make a brief list of what you already have. Then when you go shopping, you know what items you definitely DON'T need. I say this as a reminder for myself to go through all my holiday clothes from last year, to see what I really need, and don't need!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Managed to make £10 yesterday by selling some dvds to CEX a trade in shop. Not sure if they are a national chain or not? I am pleased as id only been quoted £5 by music magpie. They are a good shop if you have computer games to sell.

    Hi turtles.

Had to get up early as appointment time with homeserve was between 8 and 1. He took all the boarding off around my soil pipe and cut hole in the plasterboard ceiling and found no leak. Would have been great to solve the problem. Now have hallway upside down. Not going to get boarding fixed and ceiling done until had a good rain shower least I see whilst exposed any water. Not claiming on my house insurance for cosmetic damage. Hopefully find a man who can do it.

Next job was to replace rotting wood on my benches outside. Think even now got wood so rotten need dumping. Might save smaller one. Annoyed as cut lot of the wood but hey ho.

Lazy lunch pizza with DD and gs in garden, planted seeds, herbs and tomato ones, then walk around local park, beach looked way too busy.

Going to work on looking human for work tomorrow, hair awful and hands, nails worse than any workman.

Baked potato and tuna for tea as everything I have in my freezer is chicken!!! So looks like chicken for rest week.

    Sfd yeah:A

Today's happy time came from hearing the local kids squealing and laughing as they had a water fight!

My kind act was letting dh use the car instead of the bus. And cooking lunch for when he returned.

Frugal tip: dh was attempting to change the oil in the car, having bought good, cheap oil and a filter. However, although he has done it before, this time he realised he might do some damage,so we shall be giving the oil+ filter to our mechanic and paying the expert to do it!

Well last week I got 4 or 5 nsds. I can't remember if I posted Friday to say it was a nsd. Today my happy time was going to watch a family member playing in a league final, in the sunshine.

Frugal tip: meal plan. The months I am organised and meal plan I spend much much less than the months I'm too busy to plan.
