    Today I am grateful for:-
    1. Getting lots of work done, even though I resent having to work on my weekend just so I can do my day job properly
    2. Staying dry whilst walking the dogs
    3. Finding reduced curtains that I like

  • One of our cats can rattle the letterbox when he wants to come in... I've seen it from the outside - he looks like he's trying to post himself.

Ah bless! A friend of mine, her cat stands on his back legs and pokes one claw in the key hole when he wants to come in the front door presumably because he's seen them using their keys.

  • Hi everyone!

Well done to those who have cleared debts!

I've managed 2 SFDs so far this month. Although tbh most of my spends are business related - think I will have to start separating business and personal spends to keep better track of them. Tomorrow will be another business spend.

Have been in my 'proper job' today. Managed to make our way outside during a quiet spell to pay our respects to the passing remembrance parade. Got drenched walking to the car after work so jumped straight into a warm shower when I got home.

Have received full payment for a booking next weekend so that will cover tomorrow's spend.

    Today I am grateful for:
    A warm shower
Happy children pleased to see me getting home from work
An evening spent without making a single business item
  • Hi everyone, quick one from me before bed.

Well done CCL on becoming debt-free! :j Happy Belated Birthday Bob :)

Calling, I had to laugh earlier about things we have in common - I've also spent the weekend painting the bathroom (just the gloss but such a stinky messy job and takes ages to dry!), and my ex is planning to buy a house on my street (glad yours didn't in the end).

Can't remember if I already said, but thanks Dincanada - I made that soup the same day you posted it and it was yummy, and I have portions left in the freezer for work.

Not been tracking NSDs but I've had a few. Decorating this weekend has all come from supplies I had in already and makes the bathroom look much brighter :T Cooked a chicken in the slow cooker on Friday which has done three chicken dinners, followed by a jar of stock and then six portions of curry.

Signed up for Tesco Orchard and used my vouchers the other day - now need to plan the items into my meals.

thriftylass, hope you had a good time in Germany, I'm going to Berlin this week so any tips much appreciated!

Need to spend on a new car battery this week otherwise it will never start when I come back from my travels, but the local motorparts shop will fit it for free.

    I'm grateful for:
    -soup recipe from Dincanada
    -
friends making me lunch in between decorating
    - my half-decent DIY skills

  • Hello good morning turtles!

Just got in from my second night shift. Oh it is so windy out there. Take care if you're going out.

    I'm grateful for
    1. Seeing the end of my weekend night shifts and enjoying the coming week off with hubby.
    2. My list of things to do. It will give me structure and organisation as I have this week off. I hope I won't end up just using the time off to sit around do nothing.
    3. My YS shopping yesterday. I had two big bags full of shopping but I paid only £5.47 with 25p cashback on Shopitise and 4 p on COS and Csnap. And I found a 1p road kill. Most of the items were 5p, (Warburton loaves x5 - they went straight to the freezer, 2 packs of sugar donuts, pain au chocolait, 6-pack salad tomatoes, salad, onion bhajis) 10p (chicken and sweet corn pasta salad), 20p (chicken salad sandwich x 3). It would have been an NSD if they were only ys goodies, but had to get some items on full price, eg milk, oranges, bananas, rice and eggs. Oh and I also had to get some toilet cleaners at Hm bargains.

I will head straight to bed to get some sleep before I tackle my long list. Have a nice day everyone!

Sorry didn't get round to posting yesterday as I fell asleep on a sofa at a ridiculously early time. A spendy day yesterday as I got the weekly shop in, got a few YS bargains - 3 packs of gf rolls 45p each, gf chocolate fudge cake £1.05 and salmon £1.25. We had a salmon for tea last night, very yummy :)

Will catch up on everyone's news later, I'm away to the gym shortly then just need to get myself organised for a meeting at 1pm.

Not as glad as me Synonymous, he would have been directly behind my house. Lucky escape. Hope yours has a change of heart. Enjoy Berlin have fun.

Well was going to paint my radiator in the bathroom but found out it was rather rusty :mad:Will replace it with a towel rail when I can find a plumber who isn't busy.:( Hope to buy it through work so I will get it cheaper. Not happy as wasn't budgeted for. Better to get it sorted now before it starts to leak.

Today will be a SFD too wet to go anywhere and I have small child straight after work so will keep me busy. Up to 5/15 SFD.

Mothernerd what a strange thing to happen, why would someone cut your washing line?

I think I am a nutty neighbour lately spreading lemons all over my lawn but it is working stopping next doors cats making a mess. I go out under cover of darkness in case people think I am mad:rotfl:whereas you lot know I am by now.;)

Hope you all stay dry today.

Afternoon all I haven't been able to post over the weekend as house internet has failed and work has been crazy busy, lots of overtime being worked by myself and hubby reluctantly some days I must admit.

Hubby was fooling around in the kitchen and decided to jump on my back piggy back style hmm had an agonising few days on painkillers and still can barely walk, Yes I wanted to kill him but no I didn't, as a result I now have clocked up 5NSD, all lunches have been from home, no venders, corner shops or coffee shops have been entered. Batch cooking I done on the first has been a life saver but is now running very low so will do some more as soon as I can stand for longer than 10 mins. Overtime has covered the £80+ earnings already and the £5 charity will be given to son for children in need on Friday in school, I think I will crack on with decluttering in bedrooms and pass on what I can and recycle the rest and also sell a few bits for the -80 challenge so all in all I am doing okish challenge wise.

3 things today I am thankful for are 1/ Getting to work dry and relatively pain free thanks to serious pain relief. 2/ My mother in law picking my DS up from school and staying overnight so he doesn't have to go to breakfast club all week. 3/ My foot is healing.

Hope everyone has a nice evening. x Going to read what I have missed now.
