mothernerd - I don't think you are paranoid at all about the line. I was imagining someone must have climbed into your garden to do it, so it is a relief that maybe it was cut from outside your property.

    Morning All

Yesterday I was grateful for finally getting DS's careplan done at school, clean bedding and receiving another raffle prize for my Scout Group. I also had a NSD and have been taking my lunch to work every day.

Justforme - ouch - hope he's looking after you!

    Have a good day all

    Morning all.

Today is off to a good start, I found £1 on the way to school, DS was very annoyed that he didn't see it first.

Today I have 100 Avon Christmas calling cards to drop off at people in my territory who don't buy from me, the plan is to get some new customers from that. I am going to drop a bag off at the charity shop, it is just a few bits of DD's things that she has outgrown but will count as 6 items decluttered.

The wind has died down a bit overnight here, DH and me went for a power walk last night and at one very exposed point we nearly took off.

No plans to spend money today.

I almost forgot, for those of you that didn't see Hugh F-W last night, he has set up a website (War on Waste or something) where you can sign a petition which will go to the supermarkets to make them rethink their waste policies. I'll do it now and come back and post a link if I can.

    Hello everyone!
Some of you may remember me, I'm MrsGSR, but I can't seem to access that login anymore so I set up a new one and as you were talking about cats and I couldn't be MrsGSR anymore I am now GSRcat!
I've not been around because our building work kind of took over our lives a bit but we are on track now.
I live by the rules instilled in me by NSK and having read the rules of this months challenge I'm pretty much doing that anyway! So would anyone mind if I posted in this thread even if I am not officially in this months challenge? I desperately need to start saving up for a course I want to do but I am so skint and I don't spend anymore than before so not sure where I am going wrong!!!

Hi MrsGSR...and Hi everyone else :hello: I'm going to jump in here and reintroduce myself as well. Ive probably not posted since NSK left, but I have been MSEing along the way. I also follow most of the rules in this challenge so joining in in December shouldn't be too painful.

Nice to see so many familiar turtles still posting :A

Welcome back to the fold Mrs GSR.

Feeling really fed up last night due to lack of actual cash. Everytime I try to build up an emergency something else always crops up. My DD are already in place for next week but will just pay the minimum in December as this situation is stressing me out.

Going to pop up to the RSPCA later and take dog food I have left and try to avoid looking for a pooch. Miss mine so much. Will be off to a start getting rid of things 1/80

Today spendy day needed bunny food and some salad stuff, got some ys pork chops for tea.

Listed few tops on fleabay not holding out much hope.

Sorry for not being bright and cheery folks x

  • Hey everyone, and welcome back you guys!

Calling keep your chin up, you are doing well and that's what your emergency fund is there for - just think what you would have added to your debt otherwise. I'm having new external doors fitted to my house at the end of the month and although I've saved up the money for that exact reason, when that money leaves my account it will definitely sting!

I've finally consolidated October's accounts. I've realised that even though my goal is FIRE and to get there I need to invest my savings, I'm still terrified of committing bigger chunks to it when I've had a thrifty month. I wondered do apple and other MFWs and savers feel like this? What if circumstances change? (Not expecting sympathy for this 'problem' just interested in other people's experiences)

Go away on Thursday and have soooo much to do before then, as a consequence I am doing absolutely nothing :rotfl:! Very helpful.

    Today I am grateful for:
Getting my accounts in order and feeling more settled as a result.
Not needing to cycle anywhere in the high winds.
Spray paint arriving to have a go at frosting my lounge window with (must try to resist until after my trip, reviews suggest it takes time and patience!)

In this months budget I've allowed for the new car battery (must get tomorrow or it will be flat when I get home!) and a new laptop battery, which I've been trying to do without for ages, but would be a big help. Really trying not to be frugal to the point of stupidity when these things would really be sensible purchases.

Been in my house 5 years and lots of things are coming around now that need sprucing up or replacing, will have to make a plan of what is the best use of my time and money. The bathroom looks much better but needs a new bathmat now and maybe a plant to finish it off - too much time browsing Pinterest and not enough action! :rotfl:
