    Ah thanks apple muncher :)
So today is a SFD in fact I had 4 last week too, they definitely get easier as time goes on.
Bit of a result here as my DSs nursery bill is less than I budgeted for but it worries me that it's wrong and I would feel really bad if I under paid so I will ask them if it's correct. It's a small nursery and they are lovely there so I don't want to take advantage.
I sold my car in February so I now walk everywhere so I get daily exercise in with school and nursery runs.
Food wise I have meal planned for the month using Holly Bells power of frozen book and we e tried lots of different things and from last nights tea I got two additional portions for extra dinners :j so I'm happy with that.
Tomorrow will be an NSD but I plan to have a spend day on Thursday as I need to get a gift for a party and some eggs and pay for an eBay item which reminds me I have a few things to list.
Im going to declutter the kids toy box on Thursday and donate what is not wanted to a local church playgroup.
Glad to be putting my thoughts down so I am accountable.

  • Hi everyone!

Been working in my shop today. Sold a few bits. Saw a lovely bracelet that I was tempted to buy for DD as a stocking filler but in order to keep a SFD I put it back. However, I got home to the news that we were out of milk so ended up doing the weekly shop today and spending after all!

Had a meat free meal of stuffed peppers this evening - they were delicious. However, I failed In my mission and missed both breakfast and lunch.

    Today I am grateful for:
My fabulous opportunity in a rent free shop
    Friendly customers
    My children's giggles at bedtime

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Calling - Sorry you feel down. You are doing well honestly. I know it feels frustrating to do one step forward 2 back. But overall you are going forward. You miss your dog a lot don't you. That must be hard. Just a thought but is there any way you could volunteer somewhere like an animal shelter so you could get a dog fix but not have to consider ownership again?

Hello to all the new posters too.

Howdy everyone, I'm having a reet stressy week at work, so much to do so little time. I've also fallen off the No Spend wagon and am wasting my money on spends I just don't need to make. Will start afresh tomorrow.

Today I'm grateful for one of my fave colleagues at work for cheering me up with horsey tales, that my health check with the nurse came out well, that the nurse was nice.
  • Hello everyone!

Hello to the new and returning NST's! Hugs to those who need them and kudos to those who have been winning the NSD battle. 2nd day of my week off, which is a mixed bag. Lots of things accomplished today, but like Andrar, I fell of the NSD wagon today. When hubby announced he has a dental appointment at 10am I said I want to tag along. But when we got to the dentist's I deserted him and went to the charity shop. Ended up with 2 brand new knitted tops (M&S) for £7. When I asked the lady in the CS if they have any fabrics in stock that I could practice my sewing on, she gave me a huge dress for free (a womble Bob? It made me less guilty for spending £7 on two tops. We went to ALDI to do a mini-shop but ended up with a pair of boots (I need them for my new job, excuses, excuses) for £14.99 and a new bra. Impulse buying, an old (bad) habit rearing its ugly head? Then we went to pick up a sewing machine table that I bought from eBay for £10.00 (an absolute bargain). The seller also gave me some sewing materials like buttons, threads, needles, and other haberdashery items for free (another womble?) Then with my own allowance, I treated my hubby to a fish and chips lunch at a local seaside town. Sort of my birthday treat for him, as he didn't want any fuss during his birthday, but he didn't mind today.

On the positive side, I got to spend an hour outdoors, tidying up the front and the back garden. I've removed all the plants from the summer and managed to get rid of a full carload of rubbish to the local tip. Lost count of the items that were decluttered but conservative estimate is about £25. One more tidy up session on Sunday and the garden will be a bit decent for the winter.

After dinner I started on a new sewing project, I converted one of hubby's shirts into a blouse, using the pattern I use at my sewing class. Both blouses, my class project and OH's old shirt, are nearly finished, just the armholes and the neckline to do, which I am hoping to learn how to do at tomorrow's class. I also got to use my (new to me) sewing table, and it's fab! I absolutely love it. Stupidly though, I sort of ruined it already. Out of excitement to finish my blouse, I used the table to press/iron the seams. Can't be bothered to get the ironing horse up. Lo and behold the paint has melted and left an ugly white mark on the top. Oh well, we live and learn. At least the damage is nothing a sandpaper and a paint brush can't fix. If and when I have the time, that is.

Wednesday is 3rd day of my week off. I was told I am doing the school run for my nieces and nephew (I don't mind coz I love them to bits). Laundry, ironing, cleaning the kitchen and decluttering etc are on the list. And sewing class in the evening.

My eyes are starting to feel heavy, meaning I'm past my bedtime. I shall catch up with you guys tomorrow. Good night.

  • Im here to confess to failing this month so far :(
I went shopping yesterday and spent my whole weekly budget (£50) as its a tight week, so i need to take that from the next couple of weeks spends so balance it out.

Ive had 1 nsd this month!!!!! Thats after such a good month last month. Ive not been buying lots of unnecessarry things, theyve been 'needs' but i still feel im not in control this past week or two and need a good talking to.

That said, i got £46 from selling an old phone yest on fleabay, which takes me up to about £120 made, i'll look back and total up properly later. I need to post the phone today, and then i'll pay the ££ off the cc or n3xt account (which is down to £189 left and id love to clear before xmas). Im thinking of transfrerring it to the cc tbh so that i can pay them off in one go??? the only problem is the cc would then be full, and i have no ef at the moment?? What do you think?
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Morning all, yet another grey miserable day ahead to look forward to in the valleys of South Wales:cool: .. A lady I was in school with has died and her funeral is today she suffered so badly with Cancer bless her, dignified to the end and is leaving 3 beautiful young men and an angel of a husband although her death is so so sad she has brought the whole community together we raised over £20,000 for treatment for her she couldn't get on the NHS here in Wales 18 months ago and it bought her a little time with her family, last night friends turned our village pink with bows tied to every lamp post her funeral cars will pass out of the village, times like this you feel humbled by friends pulling together don't you. Faith whatever you believe in is just wonderful.
On the downside a HUGE police incentive kicked off locally yesterday morning with 17 drug raids @ 6.30am catch the burgers whilst snoozing it seems. According to facebook posts it was very successful :T ..

So back to MSE things, I broke the rule and went to the shop for kitkats it was a kitkat kinda day but I have added the £1 to groc challenge, I just had confirmation my £130 has been paid back into account from Argws on a returned item, bank account is balancing all bills paid so hoping to actually pay extras off cards this side of Christmas instead of sitting on them until new year.

Do you think buying a second hand cooker is false economy? I do NEED a new cooker quite soon I am hoping to hang on til new year and use some of my emergency fund to buy one but see lots on gumtree, but worry about safety aspect.
