Here's a quote for us all:

Breathe deep and reflect. What really matters? What brings you joy? Now take 5 minutes, and without editing, write down everything that matters in your life. Write fast. List everything. Review your list tomorrow morning. Reserve an hour, an evening, or a day this weekend for what truly matters.

andrar - have you been able to start afresh today? We are already over 1/3 of the way through the month.

TOG - your sewing is coming on leaps and bounds! Well done.

lsd - what can you do to feel more in control? Would it be worth keeping the extra money as a mini E F?

justforme - thank you for sharing about your village and what they did - so lovely. Re a 2nd hand cooker - I've had one, a gas one, and it never occurred to me that it might be condemned by the gas man! Luckily, it passed! And now, my dh would just attach the attachments himself!

    welshkitty - congratulations!!!

GSRcat - sounds like it is damage limitation time. Be kind to yourself, and realistic. You will get there.

    Welcome home thrifty.

Today saw me drink my morning water and do 300 kettlebell swings, and get another NSD. I don't think I have ever had so many NSDs so early on in the month - it is really empowering. The desire to go and buy is there, as I have a plan for another craft project and need grey fabric for it, but I am postponing going for now. Friday is my shopping day and I'll look for it then.

    Evening all,

Welcome back thrifty, glad you all had a lovely time

justforme what a lovely thing for your community to do

Today has been a spendy day. I got fed up of not having the necessary stationery supplies to be able to teach and sort out my lessons, so I resorted to going to asder before work and buying them myself. I also bought plenty of chocolate to try and get me through the rest of the week at work.

Spendy day as DS3 said there is a storm on the way so do shopping sooner rather than later. carrots and onions, 4 tinned toms for £1 (read about it on another thread0 and vacuum packed chestnuts to put aside for Christmas as I like them with my sprouts - cheaper than doing your own unless you can get them YS. Obviously you get more buying fresh but do I want to still be eating them in June.

Today I am grateful for finding everyday bargains, for getting back home to get the remaining washing in before it rained and for a peaceful day and a hot bath (and clean hair). Bad night's sleep (coughing nearly made me fall out of bed), wanted to go back to the doctor's but fell asleep again after the bath (and missed all the stalls at the Wellbeing day at the library (only remembered when I pulled the flyer out of my coat pocket and it was packing up time).

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
TOG - yes I'd say that counts as a womble. It's free right :)

WK - huge congrats on the new job.

Calling - it doesn't sound sad at all. Pretty normal actually. Everyone needs to talk. It's good for you. Doesn't matter if the person/animal you speak to can't answer back.

GSR- don't beat yourself up too much. Hugs.

    Thrifty - welcome back :)

I did manage to start afresh today thanks for asking!

Made my lunch to take to my day of volunteering at the stables, also drank a litre of water. Not quite the two litres I was aiming for but I'm increasing it so getting there slowly. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll be at the 2L mark.

I really really really really wanted to spend on the way home but I didn't! Made myself drive a slightly longer route home to avoid the shops calling me in. It's crazy how much my mind urges me to spend for the sake of spending, once I've said no a few times though I'll be back on the wagon proper.

Still stressful at work, some things falling through and lots of conflict to deal with so I'm going to try and get an early night to deal with it all kicking off tomorrow. Night y'all!

PS congrats welshkitty on the new job - another day, another cat and another success story!
  • Hi everyone!

Thank you for all the kind comments regarding my new job. My interview was yesterday, I got the call this morning today, and I have already had emails from them to get my medical clearance, and my current employer has had a reference request. So, they seem keen to get the ball rolling. I'm very excited!

Today was a spend day as I treated myself to a body warmer. I've wanted it for ages and it was reduced from £20 to £14. It's sooo cosy and warm! I was gifted £50 for my birthday last month that I haven't spent yet so it's coming from that pot.

Was quiet in the shop today, due to the weather I think, and I managed to take a grand total of about £15.

DH has managed to sell an old car part that was lying around in the garage and got £40. We have to post it out of that, so have about £34 profit.

    Today I am grateful for:
    My new job offer
DH taking an interest in decluttering and making some money
    Cuddles with my babies
  • my 3 things
    * clean water
    * hubby taking care of me while I am unwell
    * netflix catch up while sick in bed

spend day as hubby bought KFC for tea :(
