  • Morning all x Well I would never have thought I would get so busy not to be able to post in the evening, wall stripping stole our time last night.

Thank you for all your kind words yesterday x And Welshkitty whoohoo, I am going on the job hunt next year as soon as my credit card is cleared, I don't mind taking a pay cut as long as I can lose the dread of going to work, I do know I am lucky in one respect as jobs are scarce. Apple Muncher I loved the 5 mins reflect I have done a fair bit of this last few days and although I have a grump daily I am truly blessed with family, friends wonderful kids and a warm cosy home who can ask for more eh.

Yesterday was a lunch to work day, and NSD 6/15 and all meals from stocks at home.
    My 3 things,
1/ Being proud of friends in the village.
2/ My nine year old for taking on board little bits of the challenge too he is being kinder to friends and offering help at home, and feeling good about himself for doing so.
3/ For being back on plan with Slimming world.

Last shift of the week today yay !! no overtime thank goodness, I want to go spend my park vouchers lol

Have a wonderful day all xx

    Hello everyone,

Hope everyone has had a good day.
Mine has been pretty positive, this morning I baked for the schools Children in need cake stall tomorrow and I sorted out the kids toys which will go to the local community church for their children's groups. The toy box is now filled with blankets and soft toys with room to spare. I also tidied DDs room and sorted out her toy baskets and decluttered.
Two bin bags of toys to go to be played with by lots of other small people!
It was a spend day today but I kept within my budget so I am pleased with that.
    Today I am grateful for:
The beautiful sunshine and blue skies this morning
Being able share toys my children have enjoyed with other children

    Good evening.

Sorry for lack of posting but I seem to do nothing but sleep, eat and work when on nightshifts.
Looking forward to the night off to spend some time with my OH. We have had an hour each night for the past 3 days.
    :(

On a positive note... we have had 3 spend-free days as I don't really leave the house when on nightshift.
    :D

On an even more positive note... my car had its MOT and service today. For the first time ever, it needed nothing!!!!
So Dad thinks it will only be about £200 (last year was about £600) so this is brilliant.
Because of our joint account, we have money put aside for this. Feeling really in control this month which is great. Almost like everything is falling into place. Haven't felt like this in a while.
    :)

    Things I am grateful for:
    * 2-4-1 deals for our london trip. We are managing four days of activities for £150 which is pretty good. Even involves going to the theatre to see Mamma Mia and an afternoon tea in Knightsbridge.

    * Planning our New York trip in April. Absolutely thrilled and cannot wait. This is my dream trip.

    * Being able to help a colleague out at work.

Hiya MrsGSR and siousxie. Welcome back. Hope you manage to get back into the NST swing of things really quick.

Congrats on the new job welshkitty.
Sorry to hear about your doggy calling. I think you should give yourself time to grieve before going and getting another dog. As someone else suggested, maybe volunteering (if you have the time) at a dog shelter might be of benefit.

I know I have missed heaps but I can't remember what all I have read. Sorry.
One of these days I will have to make a note as I go.

  • Work has been so stressful that I've failed on the "post every day" front!
Here's three things I was grateful for yesterday:
    • Typed up an awesome "to do" list (I can relax if it's all down on paper).
    • Meatballs for dinner!
    • Relaxing in front of The Apprentice

    Been frugal though...

    Congratulations welshkitty.

Not spent any money (from food budget). I had enough in the bank to pay both Council tax bills (not due until 28th Nov/ 1st Dec), told DS3 I was struggling to get things done so he helped with switching our internet and phone. Used his laptop which was a relief as mine keeps cutting out without warning.

Should save us £57 in the coming year and we have upgraded our download speed. Still to tell my existing provider (totally disinterested in keeping me as a customer as I have been waiting for a call back for two weeks, had my haggle sheet ready).

DS3 paid me his money for the next four weeks so tomorrow I will get on with my passport renewal - need to go to the library as I need to print out the from after applying online. So covered all the big extra items that need doing and half the upcoming standing orders. May be able to increase my emergency fund - I am already in front as I didn't expect to be able to start until January.

Today I am grateful to the internet for allowing me to pay bills and look things up when I was wide awake in the middle of the night, for the lovely weather early on and for chicken noodle soup, so comforting. Looking forward to doing the what's important exercise, waiting for the right moment (probably around 3am) but fits well with some other things I am doing.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Things I'm grateful for today:
    • I'm ahead with my marking schedule
    • A cuddle from a cat
    • OH's extra work

I can't believe how tired I am! Is it the weekend soon?
I'm catching up with Hugh's waste programme - shocking stuff :(
  • Nsd#7 yesterday and nsd#8 today. Work is crazy busy so struggling to post everyday but trying to keep up.
