Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Welcome back Calling, glad you had a nice time.

  • I just cancelled a membership to Beachbody which I use only to watch a range of exercise videos. I have a copy of one DVD that I need and will stick with. I got a refund of $40 so am counting that as money made during the month :)
    I am grateful today for
*confirmation that both my children and their respective partners are joining us for Christmas this year
*getting a knitting commission and being paid in gorgeous yarn
*using a gift that we already have in the cupboard for a birthday this week - saved me money :)
  • Today I'm grateful for:
    1. My beautiful nan and getting to talk to her on Skype for over half an hour.
    2. OH coming home in a few hours.
    3. Lots of lovely things planned for the weekend.
    4. (Bonus) More interviews being scheduled for next week.

I have never participated in a challenge before. I lurked and lurked, and found following along with everyone else very motivating, but it's been such an incredible difference to actually feel accountable on here every day.

Had to do a food shop for the weekend today so no more NSD, but I'm amazed that it's only the 6th and I've already bagged 4/15 NSDays. I'm being a lot more conscious of my food budget and using up what's in the house, so hopefully that will help with the food spends this month over all.

    Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

    Happy birthday Mr TOG!

I have just made £15 by selling dd's old car seat :T. £65 to go...

I've drunk my water and done 1000 kettlebell swings. Yep, it was rather a lot :D

Today I am grateful for having a hot bath, for getting the shopping done in one trip and not the two I had anticipated, for dd having a good day at school, for finding 10p roadkill, for yummy steak for dinner.

NSD today - I think that takes the total up to 4. Saturday usually involves a trip to the coffee shop but I'm aiming for a day at home.

    Today I'm grateful for:
    • meeting a deadline at work
    • dinner from stores (no Friday night takeaway)
    • OH getting extra work today

Looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend but I've got a few financial jobs to do. Hope you all have a good weekend, too :)
  • Hi all

Thanks for the greetings for Mr. Tog's birthday. He enjoyed his birthday just as we wanted - quiet and no fuss. He decided against going out for a meal so it was just a simple dinner at home, taken care of by Dom pizza, his favourite finished by his beloved peanut butter cup ice cream. It's cheap as he had a voucher code and got cashback from quidco too, so win-win all round.

Bob happy birthday to you too. Enjoy your special day. I wish it will be as special as you.

Congratulations to everybody who continue racking up those nsd's. Well done you. Also those who have been having successes with the decluttering. I will be off next week after 2 weekend nights so I am hoping to make some headway with that too. We have some Cd's and dvd's to scan to music magpie with the hope of making some money, also some used printer inks to send off for extra cash (I know I have procrastinated too long with that) and take some clothes to the cash for clothes shop. And maybe I will have the willpower to list some items on eBay and donate other items to charity.

Bob so pleased to hear about the decreased dental fee for your DH. And fmess for success with your bank. It's so nice to hear about people's success stories like these. Keep them coming guys.

Three things I am grateful for today:
    1. Hubby's successful bday.
    2. Relaxing day at home. I did absolutely nothing today, which makes a nice change from the chaotic rat race I feel like I am always on.
    3. I was reminded of two of my friends who approached me last Saturday to tell me their good news of being debt free after they heard me do a talk about budgeting two months ago. It inspires me even more to keep spreading the word about how to get out of debt. I am happy to be of help.

Glad Mr tog had a lovely birthday and you had a quiet day

Today I am overtired after a non-stop stressful day at work and I'm left feeling grumpy and low. I hope I snap out of it this weekend but I have so much work to do, I should really have done work this evening but I'm knackered.

SFD as I couldn't be bothered to spend money and just wanted to get home and stay inside after work. However, when I got home one of the dogs had ate part of the kitchen floor! The floor is already in a sorry state so maybe a new one is needed.

This weekend I aim to declutter and have a good clean through the house.

Quick check in today because I have a lot of catching up to do... Here are my daily gratitudes.
    1. PPI cheque for £176 arrived today :D
    2. Rejigged November budget and have found enough to make my final payment to Stepchange today. It's going to be an incredibly tight 3+ weeks now, but I've finally made it to debt free.
    3. Virus checker and adware seems to have sorted my laptop for now - fingers crossed.
    Hope everyone is doing well.

Please note the items I found were on top of (ie on the lid) and behind the bins, not inside. I have the greatest respect for freegans but don't think I have the necessary climbing skills.

I have cleaned the bathroom and mostly cleared the kitchen enough to be able to get at all the surfaces, as DS3's beloved is arriving today (she's here now). I have re-arranged the bedroom a little as the headboard didn't fit and I don't want the wall to get damaged when they start making the earth move. Moved all the swords off the bed, put a small bookcase behind the bed and the headboard is propped up between the bed and the bookcase.

Tomorrow will be soup making (3 varieties planned) plus baking and utilising all the remaining ys goodies. Want to finish the kitchen and hope to make a start on the front room. Need to write a frog list and start eating them.

Today I am grateful that DS3's beloved and I are in accord (especially re DS3), that DS3 will be out all day tomorrow and for a long phone conversation with mum.
