  • Three things to be grateful for:
    1) lovely cup of Earl Grey in my favourite Emma Bridgewater mug
    2) watched old episode of The Good Life - delightful
    3) improvement of awkward relationship at work

    Can I have a fourth?
    4) it's nearly the weekend!!
  • Just a quick check in from me tonight - my laptop is on the blink and I'm catching up using the iPad. It's picked up some nasty bug and I am computer illiterate unfortunately. Full virus scan in progress...
Anyway - things I am grateful for today.
    1. Fully planned for next week including 2 cover hours and my observed lesson.
    2. Grabbed nsd 5, along with a letter saying I'd had a ppi policy on an old credit card. It's not life changing amounts but will be nice when it gets here.
    3. All 6 cats indoors, safe and sound, away from fireworks

  • Good morning!

Hubby's birthday today and we're both off work and we are taking the chillax route as requested by birthday celebrant. He doesn't want any present or any fuzz so I did as he asked but can't help feeling guilty that I haven't made an effort. We did have Indian take away last night (broke my NSD and my 3rd meat free day) and I might convince him to go to our favourite Italian resto.

Three things I was grateful for yesterday:
    1. Submitted my letter of resignation, the 8-week notice period begins.
    2. Not too stressful shift at work despite the SHORT staffing (as in major shortage)
    3. My loving family especially DH who is an absolute star. I love the hugs my hungry hippos give me always

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Apple and WK- thanks for the empathy both.

    Happy birthday to Mr TOG!

Fmess - I'm with you there TFI!

And meanwhile in Bob world, I am fist pumping my way round the room as after calling the dentists they told me my husbands appointment on Monday will only cost us £50 this time as it's a preparation appointment for more work. I am so relieved I could cry. That was going to be £250 in one hit. Of course had it been me I'd have asked up front about the money side but OH isn't really that way inclined. Although poor man has already postponed it twice to try and help :(

There you go. Sometimes prayers are answered....

Morning everyone. Bob that is a result, I do hope DH gets sorted. He sounds very supportive :T I so understand the pendulum between everything is ok and the OMG  moments. And please, moan away, nothing but support here :D Well I'm at an eek moment financially. I bought a coat and shoe rack from Ikeear online. I could not be bothered to have to fit in with my sons schedule to go there, so begrudgingly paid 7.50 delivery. However my total should have been 54,50 but i've have 22.00 cash back from quidco so that will help out :D I bought DS his christmas presents from Amazoon and that all came to 44.00. So not too bad, he wanted hexbugs and aqua dragon sets. The other 3 will get 50.00 each as they don't actually need anything and I don't have loads to give. The bills will be flying in soon as the meters were read the other day, so more fun and games on the finances front  I don't intend to spend anything else now, as I just cannot afford too. Thankfully, I've started to fully understand my limitations :) Have a good day everyone and take care :)

Bob - I think we all feel that way sometimes. Good news about the dentist and happy birthday for tomorrow.

TOG - enjoy your day off.

Fmess - glad you enjoyed your chocolate.

Have stripped all the beds this morning and re-made and am now washing all the sheets. I need to deliver my Avon books today, walk the dog and go for a run. I have cleaned the bathroom which is all lovely and sparkly now till everyone gets home and smears it in soap and toothpaste again.

I have checked the bank and everything is ticking along as it should be. I haven't decluttered anything yet this month but do have some things that need to go, I haven't made any extra money and I'm not sure I will be able to either but you never know.

Another NSD yesterday so I am on 3/15 now. We're off out tonight so you we will spend some money but I am taking it out of my Christmas envelope (this is all earned/saved money above our wages - from eBay or from using coupons for example).

3 things to be grateful for
    1. I worked today so earned myself 80 smackers
    2. The sun is shining
    3. I'm meeting up with good friends tonight.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hi back from my wee trip. Enjoyed gig, and looking around Liverpool did the tourist bit, free museums. Spending did really well went to a cafe where you pay not for the food but your time there at 6p/minute worked out very very cheap. Did however put some extra money in the box, lovely place in Albert Dock if you ever visit. ;)

Besides that spent only 18 pounds in total in primarny , new joggers, legwarmers, scarf, gloves and some nice candles. Really cheap 2 days.;)

Arranged to go out tonight with friend but decided to cancel, my bank account is just keeping its head above water at the moment. So anything I can do to stop spending will help. Extremely tight month here as well, battening down the hatches for most of it and de cluttering starts tonight.

Dincanada the soup sounds lovely will have a go at it.

Thrifty enjoy your freedom and have fun.

Mothernerd so brave I don't think I could do the dumpster foraging.

Bob dentist costs really worry me I now pay for medicash which does help plus need glasses this year and covers feet/ back treatment. Not a lot but worked out I still will get out more than I pay in ! Hope baby bob is doing well.

Today will a SFD 3/15. Many more to come this month going to join Traveller in the eek group:rotfl:

No plans for the weekend, happy to enjoy my house and have a duvet day.
