  • Thanks dincanada! The soup is now in the slow cooker on a timer overnight and I'll blend it in the morning.

After a conversation at the docs I've had to have a think about how I spend my time and the fact that I over-committed recently, even thought they are all things I really want to do. So I came home early tonight at 8.45pm instead of usual 10.30ish and felt like superwoman after hoovering, cleaning, tidying and getting the washing and the soup on!

Sorry I'm not commenting today, I need to stay on a roll by going to bed 'early' so I can get up and go to Aldi tomorrow. 2 NSDs here and always take lunch and dinner to work. Big hugs and high fives all round - the thread is really buzzing this month :)

    Today I am grateful for:
    - Dincanada passing on her soup recipe.
-Mentioning how I need a bell for my bike, and my friend giving me one from her drawer - it's got a dinosaur on it :D
-How far I've come as a person since I started learning about Buddhism a year ago - I'm helping out now on that same course I started on, and the changes are striking.

    Sleep tight Turtles.

Evening all! I had to get petrol today so not a NSD. I took the opportunity to spend the last of my shopping budget and got heaps of YS bargains. The checkout lady couldn't believe how much I'd found. Loads of fruit and veg for 10p and nowt was wrong with it, fussy !!!!!!s! So that's my freezer, fridge stocked and lunches/snacks over the next week sorted.

I'm in a bit of a pickle as I'm meant to visit my friend and her baby with my other friend next weekend but don't think I'll have any spending money as I don't think my mileage will have come through from work. I don't have any credit cards and no savings, not sure what to do really I can't not go, eeeeek!

    Mothernerd love your thriftyness!

I managed my first NSD yesterday 1/15. :j

I'm also fitting in an hour's walk into town and back every day.

Today I'm feeling grateful for good essay results, feeling better on my course and OH cooking tea last night. :)

Also spoke to my dad and managed to sleep until 5am this morning so that's all good too.

Can I ask why group members are called turtles? Bit puzzled.

    Happy debt bustign day everyone.

  • Morning!

Ds had me up at 5.30 this morning!
I'm exhausted, pregnancy has really wiped me out this week.

Didnt check inyesterday, to tired, but just caught up.

Took my nan shopping yesterday, helping others ticked off. My grandad has broken his leg so cant drive :(
She gave me £10 for taking her, i point blank refused but she got a bit angry, and i did have to travel for an hour to get her and an hour home! So i think i could add that to my money earned??
If i can my balance is £87.19, plus £3.99 selling an old pair of dd's boots on fleabay :j thats a total of £91.19 and its only the 5th!!

Decluttered another one item, now up to 59.

Yesterday i was grateful of -
    1. Being able to help my nan
    2. More people buying my junk on fleabay
    3. Airers - when u cant use the washing line and refuse to use the tumble dryer!!

I'll pop back later for todays update.
Still here..... but working on that!

Didn't check in yesterday evening but it was a NSD (I got two YS items in the Supermarket).
I was grateful for continued sunshine, my sweet peas are up and in the cold frame to over winter and I had a productive day.

Off to an exercise class first thing so I'll check back in later.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning All

Another day on the DFW roller coaster. Hope everyone is keeping on top of their goals and targets. One thing I'm finding slightly irritating is the endless kids birthday parties that seem to arise at this time of year. And this month especially. Seriously, show of hands people if you have a November born? In our house we have 3 including the adults. And one October. So its expensive enough as it is without the others in my extended family (neice and best friends eldest) & THEN all the school parties needing £5 spent on gifts. Moan over....

Other than that all is well :)

  • Quick check in this morning. Will respond to your posts later tonight.

Just want to say it wasn't NSD yesterday. Had a small spend £8 to buy eggs, milk and a wall clock for the bathroom (to replace the one I broke 2 weeks ago - I realise I couldn't cope without having a clock in the bathroom. There's enough food to last the whole week so hopefully no spend till the weekend.

Three things I was grateful for yesterday:

    1. 2 days in a row of meat free diet for me
    2. My sewing class. My own project (a sleeveless top) is 80% finished, I just need to do the necklines, and armholes. Signing up to the class has been one of my best decisions this year. I am learning a new skill, I enjoy 2 1/2 hrs of "me" time and I get to meet other people. The other ladies in the class are so lovely, we have a good camaraderie going on while sewing. I look forward to Wednesday evenings.
    3. My own sewing machine has come out of hiding. I can now do other sewing projects at home when I have the time.

When NinjaSavingKat left these challenges mothernerd did the first challenge and it was related to turtles (I can't quite remember how) so instead of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles we became Ninja Saving Turtles or something similar. Someone else may come along with a better explanations but that's the gist.

I have been cycling this morning (in the fog). I will walk the dog to my parents house later today and get some jobs done at home. No plans to spend anything which is always good.

Today I am thankful for my bike, for hot showers and Warburtons Crumpets (just the best crumpets ever).

I have decided to do an online shop with Tesco which I will collect on Saturday as I just can't face going to Lidl on Saturday morning (I passionately hate grocery shopping). I have selected no bags to save the 40p so it will be interesting to see what happens when I collect it. DH keeps telling me you get a free bag if you buy fresh fruit or vegetables but I don't know for sure.
