Hi
Yesterday I wrote an email to CPW customer services using the letter template found earlier in this thread.
Yoday I received a phonecall from a Gareth in the disconnections department intitially stating to me that I had never used these numbers (...which I haven't I must admit), but when I told them that today i realised that my doctors surgery has an 0845 number, that skytv, who I have just signed up to, use 0870 numbers, and that my family live in NZ, who I call usually with an 0844 number, he had no reply for me.
Then he straight away said that my PAC number would be sent to me within 48 hours.
The thing is, like said earlier in this thread, these guys dont know just how much these numbers we could use randomly in the future, all it takes is for you to have one problem with ...sky for example.. that involves you making a couple of phone calls and and end being on hold for twenty minutes..
Its an argument worth making if you have any problems...0 -

Thats the way forward. Your experience justifies my point and people who have never used these numbers should pick up on that.
But the truth is that its gonna be well s**tes now! It was never much of a worry to call any company before!

Why is it that I and some other o2 online customers have not received any notification???0

if you have an o2 account online or other and you have not received a text you are not affected by the change ie you are already on a tariff that does not have 08 numbers in allowance
if you connected or upgraded on new tariffs after april 07.
all text were sent by 28.08.07Debt - Nov 2008 approx £26,130 unsecured DMP started January 2009 May 2012 - estimated remaining debt £ 15,267.32
debt free by 2018 :T

I disagree with you.
I have 2 contracts and on 1 I got the text and on another I didnt both of them were renewed before March.
There could be lots of reason (mainly technical) to not recieve the text.
I have not even recieved the letter.
I am sure 08 numbers are included in my inclusive minutes.
If you scroll through the thread you will find there are more people who have not got the text / letter.
I know people who used over 3000 minutes to 08xxx nos per month they diodn't paid anything and havent got any text / letter. and when they called O2 they confirmed that they will be affeced.bunny_boiler wrote: »if you have an o2 account online or other and you have not received a text you are not affected by the change ie you are already on a tariff that does not have 08 numbers in allowance

Another thing we have to understand that managing so many customer, sending out text / letter etc is not an easy job. I know they should be able to do it automatically through the system but in general not all the systems are capable. we are in an era where every one is work overloaded and O2 has bring this extra task on their employees / resource
Sending out text letter
Managing them and make sure they log everything.
extra calls to their CS / retention team
PAC code generation
Final settlement
Contract cancellation.
and many more
I see this as a decision taken by some senior management without doing a proper impact analysis.
I am sure those who have not recieved the text letter can take O2 to court on changing tarrif without giving 30 days notice. However what will happen if the post got lost? O2 proves they printed a letter and blame on Royalmail. I guess court will still ask O2 to talk to royal mail as it is not customer's mistake.0 -

Wrong. I only recently upgraded 1 of my contracts (after April) but still received the text.
I upgraded while keeping my old tariff. Anyone who upgraded after April while keeping their old tariff should be getting these numbers for free. Therefore you are entitle to cancel. Check your bill to make sure the numbers were free, as in my case.
Some people who changed tariff are still getting these numbers for free<especially with CPW. They are entitled to cancel as well. But again, check yr bill to confirm.
Some people who've taken out a new contract are also getting these numbers for free<especially with CPW. Again, they can cancel.0
