Attention :O2 to charge for all 0844/0845/0870/0800 calls including old contracts

My intention earlier was not to put you off with O2.
But you are right about O2 might charge on the alternative nos when we use 18185/1899. The problem is if you call them, they will tell you it is "free" (if using inclusive mins), but you might find a big surprise when you see the bill. And when you contact them, they will try to hide behind T&C and not admit they told you differently before.0 -
Just off the phone with O2, 45 mins. Tired.
They have listened to the recording and stated I was advised clearly and correctly. And I accepted the deal so that I have only myself to blame.
I asked them which conversation they listened as there were two call (30min between). In the second call, I specifically questioned if I have to stay until the end of my contract. I was assured not only once but twice, it is sims only deal, 30 day notice. I could not get an answer but keep telling me the same thing again and again. I then asked if I could have a copy of the record, and was told no. Then I was told, the matter is closed and if I am not happy, write to them if I like.
I ask if I could speak to her supervisor, which is not a problem. Same story again. But the difference is, when I stated, I was offered a deal, which was claimed to be cheaper but in fact it is not. I was mis-sold. Plus, I am so confident, I was told not only once but 4 times of 30days notice. He this time, listened and responded with an offer: he could put me back to deal I had before. I said thank but not good enough, at least some credit, which I got £15. I should ask more but I was so tired of this whole thing and accepted.
Lesson learned: 1) Keep records, which will give you much power when you need them 2) Do not believe whatever interpretation O2 or people’s gives. If not sure, double check or look at this site. It did mentioned somewhere in this thread with regarding the same issue I had. 3)If not resolved, ask for higher authority, who normally has a “better ear”, but not just repeating T&C without listening what the real issues are.0 -
Does anyone have an email contact for customer relations. I am sick of call queues and being told different things each time...
the peter.erskine@o2.co.uk address is not working (Remote host said: 550 RCPT TO:<peter.erskine@o2.co.uk> User unknown)

I've had a real headache with O2/CPW over this change!
I made a couple of long 0870 calls and they've levied over £100 of charges to my account, yet I never received a letter or text message (that they allege I did). I hadn't received any notification that they'd changed the terms so I'm wondering how to take this forward, because I wouldn't have made those calls had I known they were going to charge for them.0 -

M8 you're not the only one!! I have 4 mobile phones with 02. Each an everyone didn't get a text. I never got a letter either. 02 customer services is crap, as expected. Your best option is to write in to get a refund. I can't be bothered really. My contracts are coming to an end - if they are going to pull a stunt like this, making such a change to the contract and sending a text to confirm, they are shooting themselves in the foot. Text messages are not 100% reliable - yet they chose to do it - which is daft.
I have no desire to stay on with a provider which provides me such poor customer service. I'm punishing them by taking my business elsewhere. I still need the inclusive minutes to dial another international service provider - but since thats a standard 01 number, why they hell stay with 02? I'm just going to find the network with the most minutes for the least price.
M8, hHonestly it just doesn't make sense. If they don't give you a refund - take them to the OFCOM, and cancel the contract - that's the only way to teach these guys a lesson. They numbers would add up, I'm sure!

Hi, a little help please...
I sent my letter of cancellation to the Dunstable address back in August - with no reply. So I sent another in September; again with no reply. So I emailed to all the email addresses on this page, and got a reply today saying I could cancel, but would need to fax him proof of postage of the past letters.
Only problem: I have no idea where the proof of postage slips are (in a safe place somewhere!), so I have to get back to him telling him this. What are the chances that I can still cancel, as this is now his word against mine - even though my letters are with them somewhere, I effectively now have no proof of anything sent?? Cheers0
