Were you sure before you used the PAC that there would be no termination fee on the old contract?
With O2 simplicity could you in the future get a PAC code to port back to O2 contract?
Hi
Yes confirmed that there would be no termination fee. I took the lady's name (she was the best customer service rep I've ever spoke to at CPW!!!) and logged the date and time of the call, as I always do with important phone conversations.
O2 simplicity is a contract tariff, a 'month by month' contract. When the handset I want comes out I'll move my number to a different contract with O2 direct (no PAC required).

Where do i get the sim from and can they take a pac code to port the number over?
Thanks
You need to go to an phone shop/orange shop, or newsagent, post office that sell payg sim cards, get the card, regester it, and while your on the phone to orange tell them you wish to port your old number over, you will have to wait around 5 days for this o happen, you will no its done when your o2 phone suddenly disconnects0 -
mattee thanks,
i have never had a pay as you go chip before, so thats why i am asking.
how much do they cost, do i need a special one ie does it have a tariff name?
once i have my number on a pay as you go chip, how easy is it to port it back to a monthly contract provider,
will some network providers state that they cannot port from a orange pay as you go?
are there any charges that i need to be aware of when porting to orange and then from orange pay as you go?
thanks for all your help0 -
If u ring orange on 0800 0792000 you can get a card posted next day for free, It costs £1 on debit card and you get it credited back, if you go to a shop they are around £5. Just ask for a pay as you go sim card. It is free to port in and apparently free to port back to a contract sim from payg orange, no time scale either, I did it so i can take time to think what deal to take next time

Thanks mattee, i purchased the sim card from orange today.
Thanks for the info as otherwise I would have been rushed into purchasing a new contract asap.0 -

The simplicity tariff offered to customers who want to cancel is a contract that extends till the end of their normal contract period. This is the simplicity tariff. It is not the simplicity contract.
I am not sure whether you are referring to a simplicity contract taken seperately.
It is extremely important that people understand the difference.
Also, even though ppl on here are very kind, it would be wise for those new to the thread to go through the previous pages.

I sent an email through my account on CPW/O2 to cancel but as it is close to the 30 days since I received the text I have just called aswell and was told I can cancel without any penalty and will get a text with my PAC in the next 7 days.
A quick question to those who were on a deal where the cashback was paid upfront... have any of you cancelled and also received the credit from the cashback? I queried this with the person I spoke to who advised I how much credit I have but that I wouldn't receive it as it wasn't money I paid in the first place. I asked if it states this anywhere in the T&C's, they are going to check and get back to me.
As far as I am concerned though, it is no different to someone upgrading and receiving a brand new handset. They are not asked to send it back when they cancel... any thoughts?0
