  • I negotiated the balance and would have got a cheque to make it free overall, but for other reasons I maintained my contract.

there seems to be differences of opinion on the 30 day period.

AFAIK there are three different 30 day terms mentioned in T&Cs.
1.. is if you wish to cancel after a change in T&Cs that affect your costs, then you have 30 days in which to tell them you wish to leave.

2 is the 30 days notice you have to give when deciding to leave and officially when your contract will end. This seems to be being waived in some cases, letting you go by immediately issuing a PAC.

    3. is the 30 days from issue of the PAC, is the time you have to port your number to another service provide, or loose it. The contract ends the day the number is operative on another network.

If 2 is actioned then there is some confusion as to when the Pac will be issued.

I have now escalated my complaint to the O2 Complaint Review Service.

I will be interested to hear the outcome of your complaint, I am on this tarrif and my argument is that I paid all this money upfront for the package that was offered at that time when my original contract expired, if the package had not included these numbers I may not have accepted it.

The simplicity tariff offered to customers who want to cancel is a contract that extends till the end of their normal contract period. This is the simplicity tariff. It is not the simplicity contract.

I am not sure whether you are referring to a simplicity contract taken seperately.
It is extremely important that people understand the difference.

Also, even though ppl on here are very kind, it would be wise for those new to the thread to go through the previous pages.
All of us on here have put in a lot of effort to help everybody. And it would be to your best advantage to read the previous posts.

    Hello

I would also suggest you read through the previous posts so you would be able to be clear on what I am referring to.

A 'tariff' is simply a price structure. The O2 Simplicity tariffs are only available on a 30 day rolling contract. Therefore I called it a contract tariff.

Point taken that some O2 customers have been offered a Simplicity tariff to complete the rest of their current contract term and that they must be aware of this crafty little trick. However if you read my previous posts it is clear that I am talking about ending my original contract (with O2 / CPW) and starting a new one (with O2 Online).

Just spoke to them they offered me the same minutes and texts i get now which is 200/200 for £12 and £100 cashback for no phone or a brand new free phone. But my contract will start today.

Not sure what to do now as i'm a select member and have good deals with 02 and already have a half price line rental for 12 months so i know i wont get this anywhere else. But do i take a new phone or £100 cashback. Maybe i could ask for more things?

    Any advice?
  • Yeah.
You could ask for more things. What did you have in mind?

I still haven't a received notification text or letter about the NGNs from 28 Sept. I've recently renewed my contract and the new one will start from 13/10/07. Would I have a case for claiming back any NGN number charges up to the new contract start as I haven't been given sufficient notice?
  • O2 alternative:

Unlimited landline calls and 700 c/n min. £350 cashback. £35 pm for 18 months with K800i. "The Link" is quite reliable, my past experience. This is Racoon 35, 18 months

This looks good. Although you need to pay for the charge of the overriding operator. I am assuming that with no other alternative number to call from mobile, the cheapest way is to have a pin to call a landline number which will direct you for international call.
