I'm on the old Best for Business 250 tariff where you get 250 X Network mins plus an extra 250 X Network mins free, I get free unlimited off peak calls to any network and 1000 texts.
I got the dreaded text and letter a few days ago!!
R u thinking of cancelling?
I was wondering whether that meeting had taken place as well. Would be interesting to know what comes out of it!0 -
I beg to differ.
Somehow people who have upgraded after the 27th of April while keeping their old tariffs are not being charged for these numbers.
In which case they have good grounds to cancel. Besides, O2 are in no position to calculate how often they would call these numbers in the future.
Its obviously different for new contracts where, presumably, these numbers are quoted as non-inclusive!
Kind of you to point out the Simplicity tariff situation. For some reason, they failed to mention this to a lot of customers.
For a minute I expected you to come up with 'O2 were the only one to offer it and no other network give these numbers for free'! No offense meant there but I seriously thought you would say that!
The CPW o2 terms maybe different re 08 #s as people saying they were still part of the contract after 27th April. I read somewhere that CPW will start charging in early October. CPW billing differences have made some posts a bit confusing, so would folks please state who does their billing.ac's lovechild0 -
I see The Register has picked up on it.

I signed up for an 18 month contract in Jan with free Nokia n73. I wouldn't have to give this back would I if i cancelled?0 -

I think i'll just keep my tariff as its still excellent value for money.
I'll just need to use http://www.saynoto0870.com if i'm phoning an 0870 number to find an alternative.
If anyone else hears about this so called meeting O2 are meant to be having please update the thread as soon as possible.0 -
I've just called and had my tariff changed round a bit.
Got rid of long weekends as I don't use it as much as I thought I would. Reduced my tariff to a £20 one and added on 36mb of data. Sure not exactly what all the others are offering but it's enough for now.
So I'm still paying £35 a month but for something more in line with what I actually use. Plus I still get the usual upgrade come June.0 -
ive just spent an extremely frustrating 20mins on the phone with o2, and they are adamant because i have not used any of the ngn numbers in the past 6 months, i cant cancel without paying £185 cancellation fee.. apparently the general manager will ring me tomorrow as i was not happy with this.
then my insurance company contacted me asking me to ring them regarding an outstanding claim. what number did they give me? an 0845 number!
ive now rang this on my mobile and had a loong conversation with them. do you think this could be used as evidence of significant disadvantage? also ive looked up and found my gas company leccy company and car insurance company all use 0845 numbers. more evidence perhaps?0 -
I use the carphone warehouse's online form to cancel the contract. After i sent the form, they rang me in about 1 hrs. The 1st guy said i can cancel the contract as I call those NGN numbers quite alot. He then passes my call to the cancellation department and they keep on saying that in the T&C's that if they inform me about the changes in 30 days advance of the change date, i could not end the contract no matter what I was not prepared to say anything back to them so I just have to hang up. After reading this forum, i found so tactic to deal with this, so i call them again, this time they just give me an address and ask me to write in to cancel the contract. I need some advice. I'm going to write in again to carphone warehouse's online form. I need some strong n firm point to win the battle.:T0
