the lady on the other end, laura who was very helpful told me i was using on average 43 mins a month of my minutes which is absolutely poor considering the contract i had and i was also using nearly 200 texts so she came back and said i could have 400 mins and 300 texts for £20, i said i wanted it cheaper so she went away for a few mins and came back with 200 mins and 600 texts for £15 a month.
i thought that was very good considering i have only been using 43 mins a month so i have saved myself £20 a month.
im well happy to be honest and it was so easy but now i have to contact dialaphone about their cashback that im due to claim next month and their customer services are a nightmare!!
Am not sure you will get yr cash back! Gotta be careful with these.
Good deal. But if you have Virgin, you can have 300 min+ 300 text, sim only for £10.0 -
Sorry but I would say she's probebly right.
Officially, if you sign a contract after April 2007, all those numbers are not included in your free minutes. They could simply explain that the reason you are not charged at the moment is a mistake. They made this mistake and you got some benifite. That's it.
My family uses it alot and I mean by 99.9% of the time and we have between us about 15 contracts....
all contracts that have been upgraded even after April 2007 do include the 0845..etc numbers...so no mistake on that part!!!!0 -
Yeah, do not let them bull*** you about it being a mistake.
Mistake my a***0 -
all a bit silly on their part IMO given the cost of calling 0870 ( the one where the terminating bit costs most ) will likely be falling soon anywayAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Sent email requesting cancellation due to t & c's changing yesterday. Got a reply back today saying my cancellation date will be 2nd October with no penalty. I use 08 numbers a lot on this contract. Its the old store tariff of 100 mins & 100 text.0

Just been on the phone for ages. Spoke to an adviser who just kept refusing and stating that i hadn't used the number in 6 months. Finally got her to pass me to a supervisor who had to call me back. She wouldn't let me cancel either and after arguing with her for about 15 minutes (Stating that they were in breach of contract, they'd disadvantaged me, mentioned all the T&C's) and all she'd do was give me the address for Complaints Resolutions which will take weeks before i get a reply out of them.
Is there anything else i can do?
Can i just email them requesting cancellation or do i have to get prior approval over the phone first?
Any advice?0 -
I rang up today, and eventually after nearly two weeks of ringing up most days, I managed to get mine clancelled as of the original day I sent the letter.
It will be cancelled on 23rd september and my PAC will be with me in two days.
I had to tell them I KNOW they recieved my letter and have proof from Royal Mail if they need it.
The guy I spoke to today was REALLY nice, really helpful and had it sorted in less than 10 minutes.
I made a point of telling him this out to him and he has reassured me of o2's customer service.embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -
How many people reading this thread still haven't received official notification?
I haven't received the text for either of my 2 contracts yet. My next billing date isn't until the 13th (which I'm assuming will have some reference to the changes) so technically, O2 won't have informed me of the change to my T&C's with 30 days notice of the charges from the 28th.
Should I query this with them, or carry on using the minutes until getting official notification, and then getting onto C/S for any charges incurred in the interim?0 -
I received a letter from O2 informing me of this. I emailed them to say that I didn't agree to them unilaterally changing the contract. They have said that I can cancel. I asked them to confirm that this would be without any financial penalty, and they did confirm this.0

Oh, and be warned. They offered to drop me on to Pay as you go at the price of a £10 top-up, but after a little further digging, they also let out that if they drop you to Pay as you go, you still have to pay the line rental for the rest of your contract...0
