which says that orange offer 0845 nubers as part of bundled minutes off peak on one of their plans
Yes I can confirm orange everyday 50 call plan includes 0845/0870 numbers for off-peak use. It's a call plan that includes no text / x-net minutes but only 50 minutes of off-peak calls to landlines and 0845/0870 numbers. It is an old call plan and is not available for purchase now.
Orange have made a number changes to their call plans over the years but they have not touched the everyday50 plan for some reason ...0 -

Having read through this morning and not having received a text informing of new Ts & Cs I phoned to upgrade at lunchtime today. I'm on the o2 500 tariff which includes "special" numbers in the inclusive minutes. I upgraded to the SE W880i for free and was told I could keep my current tariff. The phone will be delivered in 2 or 3 days. However, at 6pm this evening I got the text informing me of the changes. Where do I stand on this? Does my new contract start from the point when I phoned to upgrade or on receipt of the phone? Can I still get out of the 12m contract and keep the phone when it arrives? I'm only with o2 because of the calls to these coming out of my minutes!
Is an SMS an acceptable means of changing a contract or does it have to be in writing?
Any thoughts gratefully received! Thanks!!0 -
Got a text also, sent off an email on Friday, received a reply today giving me my contract termination date.
Odd that they don't care about how much business they are losing.
Bye bye o2.0 -
My contract expires Oct. 6th so i am going to phone them on Sept 6th and see what they can offer me and if it's not to my taste then i will cancel mine. I am currently on 500min 500txt for £20/month.0

So...I have now cancelled my own contract successfully with O2 CPW after.. 1st call was cut off midway but told no problem no penalty albeit upgrade in Apr explained long time customer so quite disappointed
2nd time I rang back but told no cant until we check (no issue as high NGN user anyway) but somewhat argumentative guy so cut him off after holding for ages
3rd time - my luck same guy! but said call back Tuesday due to bank holiday
4th time - new guy, told will ring me back this time within ...another 72 hrs
5th time - no phone call 72 hrs+ overdue, told what happened, checked his system and said no problems coz its been done already and confirmed without penalty - but no PAC
6th time - I will call tomorrow as I'd like my PAC and then I'm off to T-Mobile or Orange instead - probably some 12 months free deal.
What a mess eh?
Also emailing in to cancel hubby's contract with O2 direct he's done 12 of 18 months now anyway - and is the real culprit as he's on 2600 off peak mins (works shifts and lives his life by NGN as he uses them every month to call his extended family and friends in Asia as well as all my spare mins every month hence I was showing as a high user of NGNs too!).
PS I won't be going for iphone neither - even if O2 are the only ones to have it!0 -
Just got this back from o2:
Dear Mr Fayraz
Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you are unhappy regarding our non-geographic numbers policy. Please note, however, that O2 have been the only network not to charge extra for Non-Geographic numbers for some time. However, in order to stay in line with other network providers, this policy must be amended. I can confirm that O2 are also releasing new tariffs in October of this year which will no longer include Non-Geographic numbers. To eliminate customer confusion and maintain consistency, the change must be applied to all tariffs.
Please be aware that the most commonly used numbers to mobiles and fixed lines, such as those beginning with 01 and 02, will not be affected by these changes. Calls to O2 Customer Service (including CPW) and Telephone Helpline Association Numbers are among some of the exceptions to the NGN charges.
For further information regarding this matter, please visit O2.co.uk/specialnumbers
For customers who regularly non-geographic numbers, however, we are offering the option of contract cancellation. In order to do this, however, the customer must be shown to be a regular user of these numbers within the last 6 months. I have checked your itemised call data for your last 6 invoices and regret that as you are not a regular user of these numbers, we will be unable to cancel your contract based on this policy.
If there's anything else we can do to help you please reply to this email.
Can anyone advise me of what to do next?
Write to them using one of the templates on the previous page. did u get a text from them?0 -
Has taken me a week to get my PAC out of O2, spent 40 minutes on the phone to them today being told that I had never made a non Geo call from the phone, and so their legal dept has told them I could not cancel without paying a termination fee. Once I stopped laughing at this silly comment I eventually got them to see it my way (the legal way) so be warned, they are trying every underhand trick to stop you cancelling, the phone rep admitted they are loosing customers left right and centre at the moment - don't think I would want to be a share holder at the moment!!!0

O2 CPW are really awful according to them I cannot leave, that they can not cancel my contract without paying 18 months fees, also that they cannot proceed the cancelation until I writtend and paid them the fees. I keep on telling them listen I already been given PAC code.
You would think their custom Service was out of country where they don't speak english. I already have pac code and used it. But they keep on insisting that until I paid them the remaining fees and write to them they cannot issue the cancelation request.
