  • Claiming mis-sold PPI on a car finance agreement
    Carcraft/Hitatchi Capital
    £2100
Went to the Ombudsman, held out and won
Had to get a car desperately for new job job, Carcraft were the old people prepared to give me credit and I had to get a car asap. Vile salesman told me he couldn`t agree the credit without PPI, went along with it, made payments for 18 months & found out he had lied, after 2 letters to Carcraft case went to the ombudsman, dragged on for 9 months but got a cheque in full, still with a nasty letter from carcraft, which has come in handy as my wife is 7 months pregnant.

Thank you to everyone on this site.

    Hi
May I ask which letter did you send that was downloaded from here? Did you not have to mention that you thought you had been mis sold? Sorry to ask its just that I have a loan account number and letter confirming my loan but cannot find the paperwork, and wondered if it might work for me. Thanks I hope this makes sense,

I took a £20000 loan out with Lloyds TSB in March 2004. I sent an letter (downloaded from this site) to them on Feb 10, 2010 asking for a break down of costs. I got a letter back from them on Feb 19, 2010 saying they had looked in my case and were refunding £4200 plus 8% interest.

I had to phone them to confirm as I was in shock that I got it back with out even asking for it.

    Thanks Martin!!!!! :j
    HI N Manthey

Just wondered which letter you downloaded from here. can you give me an example of what to write as we have a PPI claim in already with Lloyds but we have also found an old letter from 2004 that says thank you for taking out a loan with us etc and gives details of DD etc, but there is no other paperwork with it. I bet you they have also mis sold us PPi on this. Do you think if i ask them to give me a breakdown of costs that will suffice. Any help would be appreciated. PS Hi to Di

    Hi Jed

Hope are you, its good to hear from you.;):)

Have you requested for a Subject access Request (SAR) from them?
They have 40 days to comply and send all they hold on you, with a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment.
    Details of SAR letter here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
An SAR may be of some help, but you do not have to request for this if your don't want to.

If you have the account number though then you can still continue to reclaim from them.
    Check the templates here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

I did also post on Marshallka's PPI Resources thread with a template letter from The Guardian, there are lots of reasons you can check on, the details of it here too here:
    http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Money/documents/2007/10/26/PPIreclaim.pdf

Hope you find this helps, good luck with this.

    Hi Folks,

Can anyone help. I had a Loan for a car via carcraft in 1999. I thought it was with Chartered House Trust or something like that and think it then went over to Black horse. Any ideas how i might push to get details of my loan bearing in mind it was now 10 years ago. I was forced to take out very expensive PPI at the time. Anyone have any idea what happened to Chartered house trust.

    Dan
