I can understand your point of view and I don't mind paying a decent rate for a decent job, but losing approx. 25% (plus VAT) of any win for the sake of filling in a questionnaire and sticking a stamp on an envelope isn't what I would call a decent return unless you are a Claims Management Company.
Ebay Girl - can you edit the name of the CMC out of your quote above - dont want to give them free advertising , do we?

Hi i'm a newbie on this site!!! I have been waiting for letter from barclays regarding my ppi claim, the deadling is today and i havent had anything off them what can i do? I have tried to phone them but ended up on hold for almost an hour!!!

    Hi,

as Di said above, they actually have until today to make a response (assuming your claim was put in before or during the Judicial Review?)

However, this is only to make the decision, so it could take a few days for it to be posted out to you

Also, this will more than likely be a yes/no to upholding the complaint - the FOS/FSA appear to be then allowing them "up to" 8 weeks to calculate and pay the amount due (assuming its a positive and they uphold your complaint)

So be aware that to reach the point of payment, you may have to wait another 8 weeks yet

    :(

Well, after CB rejected my complaint, twice, after further emails I now have all my paperwork ready to send off to the Ombudsman.Probably been asked before but what kind of timescales is it for the Ombudsman-I guess they'll be fairly snowed under just now.
    Out of 3 claims-one upheld(HFC),one rejection(CB cc) and one pending(HBOS cc).
Missus has one complaint in just now(HBOS cc)pending.

I noted elsewhere on the site someone had been quoted 18 months!

I think you can expect at least 1 year, but hopefully that will all start improving as the firmsw clear their own backlogs

So the deadline is today and I was very surprised to find lots of post from Lloyds TSB today in relation to Loan PPI complaints. Posted reply just before end of April, got the standard letters saying end of August.

Result is all 14 complaints have been upheld.!

The older loans which date back to 1995 ish were allocated £1200 each and Lloyds said that "Due to the passage of time, we no longer have any detailed records relating to your loan account....".

We got more for the more recent loans and altogether it adds up to just over £25,000 We are delighted that we will be able to clear all debt for the first time in years (woop woop)

Thank you so much Martin's money tips. This money will allow us to make a fresh start, debt free and start saving for a house!

    Hi and welcome

I am aware that you can, and you can do so separately, and if you require help on the charges side of it, then you can post up on the section for that here.
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102

So have you also made a start on the reclaiming of the ppi as well?

Good luck on all your reclaiming and ask for any help anytime.;)

I asked a similar question about claiming charges when I've already claimed PPI in this forum. When I look at the bank charges templates though, it refers to bank accounts and says "I am writing to request that you repay all the charges in relation to direct debits, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders that have been applied to my account in the past six years." Am I right in thinking I couldn't claim for charges for missed payments on my loan or would I just have to re-word this section slightly? :)
